Toyota kept their promise with the 2023 GR Supra! This is the first year of a 6-speed manual gearbox. On the outside you will find a new color & wheels. On the inside there is the BMW sourced interior. Under the hood is a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 that produces over 380HP & now mated with that 6-speed manual! I have a 2023 Supra A91 6MT. Believe me that it is fun. Slightly slower than an Automatic because no human can shift as fast as an automatic but definitely fun.

I have seen two of these. It looks way better in person than it does in photos. One was white and parked the other was clearly a custom color a green almost like a forest green and it was on the move outside of a parking garage I’m glad the manual enthusiasts can have their day!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I don’t think there are a lot of people cross-shopping the Supra and Mustang. But of the two, if I had the money, I’d get the Supra, but only in the manual. One of the biggest reasons is there are tons of Mustangs out there, but Supras are still rare to spot, especially where I live, and I don’t want to drive a car I see tons of everyday.

For me, I've always like jdm, old supra manual tranmsission in particular, from the day I got my license. But recently after getting into a NA V8 and hearing that monster roar, I just couldn't. Though someday I probably get back into turbos, intercoolers, BOV, big ass exhaust tips when V8s disappear, but that'll probably be when I'm with God by then 😅! Good review though RR! 😎👍

I would agree with you that the instrumentation is well integrated into the dash creating a personal connection with the driver, which are enthusiasts. The newer sports cars with tacked on dash board screens will struggle to make this connection with drivers because it's a very impersonal integration into the dash. They just look like the screens are generic and reek of cost cutting to the nth degree. The supra with a manual is a well balanced offering of a vehicle that delivers great fun for a low weight. 600 lbs less is quite significant!!!!!

Another great review. I love the Supra in this color and the manual is what I was waiting for. Overall the Mustang is a bigger and heavier car. I like the smaller proportions of the Supra better. The exhaust does sound great from the outside. Why do car manufacturers continue to give us this artificial engine sound through the speakers? The speakers should be for music only. If they insist on piping in this sound they should give us the option to turn it off. I am so glad my 2019 Type R was made before Honda started to do the fake engine noise as well. Speaking of things I hate in modern cars, does this Supra have start/stop? If it does, combined with that fake sound, those might be deal breakers for me. Again, great job Team Raiti!

I love these cars. I want to get one. The biggest thing that bothers me is that I work for BMW, and interior wise I see everything they took from left over old BMW and stuck it inside. The seat setting buttons, radio controls, turn signals, etc are all from like 2017 BMW.

It's funny how the GR Supra has all the fake vents and then you have the GR Corolla that has functional vents. You'd think they'd go the extra mile to either remove some of them or make them functional considering every year they've made some sort of improvement. Although, that's just a small nitpick I have. I love the rest of the car though and the manual is very much appreciated.

I have an M4 and a Toyota Supra MT and I’d take the MT Supra over the M4 all day long. It’s a drivers car and I want to be in control of every aspect. I don’t feel in control of the M4 nearly as much as my Supra because of the incredible MT gearbox designed ground up by Toyotas incredible engineers. I love my M4 don’t get me wrong but the Supra takes the win for me regardless of the rear seats as they aren’t very useable anyway. If your debating there’s nothing like the MT experience of the Supra IMO long term the Supra MT specifically will hold its value over nearly any BMW auto/mt. I’m not a Bimmer fan boy and am trying to come at this with no bias at all as I had never owned either car prior. All that said you do you for me as an owner of both MT Supra ftw hands down! It’s going to be a legacy auto to own! Bimmers all look the same essentially to me and I see them everywhere how many MT Supras do you see otr case settled there for me alone it’s the nostalgia and will be a legendary icon long term!

I went from a manual 2015 roush supercharged, tuned 650whp Mustang to a A91 edition 21 Supra I like the supra in the turns but my Mustang in the straights mmm.. close 4th and 5th were insane in the Mustang

I actually wouldn't compare the Mustang to the Supra. The Mustang is a muscle car and the Supra is a sports car. It's just a different type of 2 door.

It is a BMW gearbox with all Toyota internals.

Nearly all toyota 6speed manual cars have R, next to 1st gear, but with a pullup lockout collar (corolla, yaris, 86, etc). Since this is a bmw gearbox, R doesnt have a pullup collar and instead you just have to push harder to access reverse.

It's an EXCELLENT hot daily driver. Provided you like that extremely curvaceous (bulbous?) look. Someone I know has a new one with the same setup. Absolutely raves about it. Says it handles brilliantly in our local mountains. Is it worth it? It's definitely better than a Mustang GT. But not that GT 350 Shelby!!!😉
