We purchased a Venza XLE in January of this year and we couldn't be more pleased. I do have to issue a warning to potential buyers. On many occasions, we were able to exceed the 40 MPG suggested gas mileage. Getting 50 MPG or more is not that unusual. 63MPG on a 20-minute trip is our record.

Toyota has a long history of humility when it comes to reported mileage. I have just put 30K on my 2021 Venza and over that time I've achieved an average of 47.2 mpg.

I have a 2021 Venza and I’m not getting those mileage at alllll. I get 40 once in the while. But I get about 37 (which I’m not complaining about). I do drive highway a lot (3 days a week) so fill up my tank about once a week. Still love my Venza through.

We were lucky to find the 2023 Venza Limited in the configuration we wanted which replaced our 2021 RAV4 Limited Hybrid. You did not mention the Folding Side Mirrors (important for garage ingress and egress, a must have for my wife) which none of the RAV4 trims offer, nor did you show the Heads Up Display which is very well done even with navigation queues, and you forgot to mention the full sized spare tire and the fact that the rear hatch has both a CLOSE and CLOSE AND LOCK button which can lock all the doors and the hatch. Frankly the Venza Limited really is a better match to the Lexus NX350H. But the Venza runs on regular gasoline... the Lexus likes High Test. Liked your review... you did a great job... And how does the sound system sound to you? Thanks.

One has to remember, liter size and # of cylinders has NOTHING to do with actual horsepower or car performance. Today's 2.5L V4s put out more horsepower than older 5.0L V8s. The 1978 Firebird had a 5.0L V8 that put out 145hp. People really need to stop obsessing over numbers that don't mean anything.

Exactly, and I tried for four months (on a list) this year to obtain a Venza Limited, no go. And I was transacting with the largest dealer in the Houston area. In fact, one dealer told me I was trying to get a "unicorn". LOL I was lucky enough to obtain the 2023 Lexus ES300h, Ultra Luxury. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid. It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories: 1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps; 2) Smartacess Card Key; 3) Premium Paint; 4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display; 5) Ultra Luxury Package; 6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat; 7) Door edge film by 3M; 8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and 9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows. MORE: The three-projector headlamp design creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads. Ultra Luxury extras: 1) 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels and Michelin "green" tires; 2) Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades; 3) Power open/close trunk with kick sensor; 4) 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen display 10.2-inch Head-Up Display; and 5) Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Panoramic View Monitor. Averaging 43+ MPG City/Hwy driving and I had the oil and filter changed at 1,000 miles for my own peace of mind. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10,000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the Oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and Toyota filter every 5,000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. LOL 🤔

I pre-ordered this Japanese-import - the Limited in Ruby Flare Pearl in October 2022 for my wife and got it before Christmas. It is truly a luxury vehicle. The gas mileage is unbelievable. Its personal best so far is 50.1 MPG. As for the 2023 RAV4, I eventually pre-ordered the XLE Premium in Windchill Pearl for my son and got it a month later. Both are excellent SUVs. Hi Joe. Good review of the Venza. I have a 21 Limited with the exact same color inside and out. Equipment level is the same too. Nice to see the upgrades made for the screens and infotainment. This is one of my biggest complaints with the 21 as the graphics are outdated and the capacitive touch controls make it difficult(no knobs for anything!) I’ve had issues with mine but the mpg is spot on. I replaced the Bridgestone Ecopia (high mileage tires at 15,000 miles. They became very loud and were absolute trash in Minnesota winters. I’ve driven out East twice and wish it had more cargo room. The cargo floor is high as you noted and the rear doors don’t open wide enough which for a family of four would be difficult IMO. Of note, my 21 doesn’t get the 520 miles per tank Toyota reports and it only takes up to 11 gallons on a reported 14.5 gallon tank. No recalls and Toyota says it’s normal? Overall, it’s a high end Toyota that I wouldn’t think of placing in a Lexus NX or RX class. As with any car, there are issues and I’ve learned to deal with them. It’s a good car and when my lease ends in 11 months, I’ll have to make a decision to buy or sell back to the dealer. Was told by my dealer that the Venza supply will be short into 4th. Quarter 2024 so I may be able to make good money if I sell it. Could be interesting come May of 2024! Cheers.

I’ve a 21 XLE with JBL/NAV and love it. Not one issue to gripe about. I know the RAV has more cargo area. I don’t need it and preferred the styling (which is subjective). I don’t think you could go wrong with either and I don’t think the Venza is cannibalizing on RAV Hybrid sales. They can’t make either fast enough.

@@pagodad8079 My sister was at a stop light and went to put a few things into the compartment and accidentally turned off her own car. Yes it was an accident and a part of human error, but it also isn’t a functional design. That area is multi-purpose because of the wireless charger, but in my opinion, a push-to-start should be in a place that your hand will ONLY EVER GO THERE just to start your car. That’s just the main design flaw in my eyes, not sure why it isn’t in the common area where many push-to-start buttons are.

Just one old guy's opinion so here it is with no apology necessary if you don't agree. Is this worth several thousand more than a RAV-4 I'll say ... yes. More upscale features and a quieter ride are important the older I get along with all the safety features. It's Team Joe on the full length tail lights and I despise that Battlestar Galactica/Cylon front end on Lexus models. I would hope all the interior lights are LED and the heads-up display and bird's eye view camera are a big thumbs' up Prop rod for the hood...bean counters just salivate over that 19th Century feature. However the elephant that needs to be addressed is that Toyota needs to flog dealers and their huge mark ups. I'd consider this yet if the local dealer wants multiple thousands over MSRP...like Nancy Reagan said: "Just say NO." Let 'em stay greedy and when the market surely turns, it'll be nice to tell them to have a nice day - elsewhere! Love the color combination outside and on the interior. Very posh when I need to check on my polo ponies at the Club.🖖

One MAJOR bad thing about this Venza .. The Venza was designed by Japanese engineers for (shorter) Japanese people.. If you are about 5' 1" to about 5' 4" this would work.. But the roofline is soooo low.. For mid-sized to taller Americans, this low ceiling (low roofline) would get old quick. With such a low roofline the visibility (with many blind spots) would make this a very UNSAFE vehicle.. If you are determined to buy this Venza, make sure you have plenty of auto and health insurance.. Poor visibility increases the risk of serious collusions and auto accidents.

@@hss8973 No offense.. I hope you like it.. Just be extremely careful when driving.. I am 6'2" and I sat in a 2022 Venza and thought the outward visibility was terrible.. Outward visibility is so important for safe driving. Plus I thought the cabin was cramped and not very 'airy" and roomy. I like for my passengers to feel comfortable. The Venza felt like a cramped/low ceiling cave to me. The Venza would be sooo much better if they raised the roofline about 3 or 4 inches, and made it more boxy - then the Venza would be really good.

Blueprint is a favorite color of mine from Toyota this Venza looks good the wood trim inside is beautiful the heated and ventilated seats is a plus. I agree with Joe about the rear turn signals and reverse lamps located at the bottom it's a head scratcher. Tail lights look like a Jaguar but great review and on throttle action as always thanks Steven for the great camera work!

We're in the market for a replacement for our 2015 Forester Touring. We haven't had the opportunity to drive any new 2023 models, but one of our somewhat local dealerships did have a used 2022 RAV4 Limited hybrid and a used 2021 Venza Limited that we test drove. I really don't care for the looks of the Venza that much and wasn't that impressed with the ride quality or road noise compared to the RAV4. We also felt like the RAV had a better rear trunk area than the Venza. To be honest, theRAV4 only had 9,000 miles & the Venza had 20 some thousand on it so tires made have made a difference in handling & road noise. I did feel like it was easier to get my 70 YO 6'4" body into the Venza than the RAV4 and I would love to have the power tilt in the RAV4. That said, we specced out a new RAV4 Limited hybrid instead of the Venza. A new RAV4 similar to the one we specced out is supposed to be delivered sometime in the next 3-5 weeks...

On month 5 with my 23 limited. 2000 miles.. Love it. I have Costal Grey with black interior no stargaze ☹️. It was all I could find. Love the 2 tone on this car. No stargaze and all black inside makes this car very dark inside. I couldn’t find a NX or RX so I found the next best thing. A NX 350h equipped the same as the limited is about $18k more.. so Venza is a great buy! Tried a RAV it was horrible with the road noise. To square, but to each his own. Thanks for all your reviews. They are great and keep you laughing. “Grandpas balls” 😂…. Ps.. I bought a 2019 porsche Macan S…a few days ago and financially it would have been better to trade my Venza for it, but I can’t get rid of it.. It is a great car for the money and hold it’s value. Trade is what I paid for it. I’m gonna have some fun for a bit with the Macan but stick to the Venza that will out last Porsche 👍🏼

I am on RR team!!! I love the rear long light. What’s wrong with Steve?!😂 Not a fan of bumper integrated headlights or tail/turn signals. Why? First, the design is destroying my mind 🤪. Second, the bumper is made for bumps. You hit a bumper and your headlights/taillights are off. Additionally, you are getting all road rocks with extra gravel and bugs to polish the lights down 😁.

I drive a 2021 Venza limited without the (unopenable) sunroof. I’ve 4 complaints: 1) Car is limited in interior space: have to duck to get in even with seat at lowest position, and harder still on passenger side where seat is not adjustable. 2) Road and tire noise are significant 3) Supplied NAV system is terrible. Can’t even find post office and suggests making left turns at intersections where they are illegal. 4) Lane centering is unreliable and will turn off unexpectedly so you have to keep an eye on it all the time to see if it is actually on. However, do like 1)excellent gas mileage, 2)very adequate acceleration, in town and on highway, 3)steering, 4)camera systems for parking.

Mine arrives in the next couple of weeks. Red with gray interior and a Star gaze roof. Can’t wait! Wanted blue exterior, but non-black interior and Star gaze roof were nonnegotiable. Almost impossible to find those two interior specifications with a blue exterior. By the time it arrives, I will have waited about 10 weeks for it. Trading in my 2017 Prius with 76,000 miles for it.
