Is The 2024 BMW X1 M35i Really Necessary?

Just got my 2025 x1 M35i…. To your question on who would buy this… me! I traded in my 2015 428i coupe and was looking for a small suv but also still wanted something sporty. Kind of trying to trick myself that I’m not actually driving an suv. Also, love the body.

you can open the sunroof in the x1 but you cant in the new x3. the x1 has a more lururious interior then the x3. Thats crazy.

iDrive 7 was the last good one which had a matte display in a binnacle and physical buttons. They still use it in the Z4. All the other cars cheap out with a bad giant display and not many buttons.

a lot of the issues you speak to seem to me as an owner of the car, problems tht you only have. The car play is due to cookies and other connection issues you will run into with any device that uses bluetooth. Bluetooth is the issue. As well the phone holder on mine is tight, and often takes some pressure to open, my phone never slides around in it. maybe a build quality issue. You can turn off the sport sounds, it generally only comes on during sport mode. all of these things are customizable. Who is driving around in sport mode only...... I bought the 28i with the upgrades and am jsut missing out on the colour and engine. So they are virtually the same. the m series is for the emblem and just to say you have it. 2k wasnt worth it for me when driving a bmw is already seen as a luxury vehicle. This is also the same price as a rav 4, but this has signifficantly more luxury included with the utility you get from both vehicles. I looked at all the SUV's at this level for 2024, this was the best one besides for maybe the audi but even still the enterior doesnt compare. its not for you but its the best in its class

quick note if you are having issues with car play, restart your phone. the solution is fixed when it refreshes, I find this only happens when you are continually moving close enough for it to connect and far enough to disconnect. Bluetooth is garbage, so refresh your wallets cache for the key, or jsut restart the phone

I just test drove the new x1 today...I currently drive a 2015 x1. The quality of materials in the new one is quite disappointing compared to mine...ll aspects...the doors...the dash...the seats...all cheaper materials. The floating armrest is awful...useless storage underneath. Steering wheel felt really cheap compared to my 10 yr old copy. No idrive wheel is practically a dealbreaker for me...virtually no knobs/buttons. I like mine much better and will not be getting a new x1.

All these new redesigned 2024-2025 models are non passable. Keep older generation until these are flushed out or just switch to other brands.
