2024 BMW X1 versus 2024 BMW X3. Which one to buy?

I am 6'5" and I found the X3 has inadequate legroom while the X1 was good. The X3 has better hip and shoulder room. I can deal with a little narrower seating but I can't deal with not enough legroom.

I love the x1’s front grill, the x3 needs to look like that! The interior choices in the x3 are unbeatable though. Trying to pick between the 2 right now. Choices and decisions 🙃

Luv the X1 - not so big - yet has almost all the upgrades like the x3 which offers only a few differences. I had a 440 I GC just ordered a m 235 should arrive any day - wish I had the the X1. Oh well?!

I have 76cu.ft. in our CR-V & 38mpg. X3 needs to step it up with size and efficiency. Love the cognac interior though.

Well true, but in general the European SUVs do tend to run a bit smaller. But the bells and whistles are so much more high end.

@ the dealership near me only has the 2024 version I guess they’re trying to push those out before getting the 2025 version, they do have the X1 in 2025 though! I’m sure it won’t be long, may wait it out. Love the dash on the 2015 versions.

I have an x1 and wouldn’t trade it for anything! I was able to custom order from Germany (with the wood 😀). I got it decked out, so it was pricier than the $45k, but it is exactly what I wanted. I mostly ride in it alone to and from work in the mountains of western NC, so space is not a big issue for me, and it has plenty of cargo space for a grocery haul-and with two teenagers I buy ALOT of groceries at one time. We have a 4Runner for anything we do with the whole family, but space isn’t an issue when I drive my kids (one is 6’1”). I love the way it zooms around our curvy mountain roads, and the tech screen is fabulous. I also have the heads up display, which is a great help. I have been wondering if I should go up to the x3, but after seeing this, I just don’t see the upside.

Well done comparison! I love the new screen and steering wheel in the x1, but the overall quality seems to be better in the x3 (maybe it's just my impression). I don't know how BMW can come up with such ugly wheels for a car like this, though. Shameful. Great content! 👊

I went from a 2022 bmw x3 to a 2024 bmw x1 and a month later went back and got a 2024 x3. I hated the x1 - the size the drive and the new tech are awful

You will regret making this trade when the 2025 X3 comes out in a few months. I owned a 2018 X3 which looks the same as the 2024. BMWs tend to look the same for about 6 years.

X3 has a much better quality interior. The headrests in the X1 are like half the thickness, and it feels cheap on the interior (the center console 🤮). The drive on the X3 is much better also, I have driven both and own a 2024 X3 currently.

Also you’re paying for the engine in a M35i not “better quality” interior…which is again a dumb comment because the interior is not cheap at all…anyone who shops luxury (or understands business) knows the proposition of a entry level vehicle.
