Maybe if the inline 6 gets a SRT model 700hp AWD maybe I’ll consider it. I’m sure dodge got something up their sleeve already down the pipeline.

Front has panel leveling issues. Is this a prototype? Which would be a bad decision for a reveal. The front has the body panels being hung on a box look. The interior & exterior results look like a mix of the A, B, & C teams. I realize Stellantis had to put out an all EV something to satisfy CARB so I expect these to be low production numbers. CCS, really, playing the adapter game again. Average charging speeds. As Craig eluded the pricing is not going to be cheap. I'm leaning towards epic.

This feels like a major FAIL by Mopar. 4.7sec 0-60 and a 13sec 1/4 mile time? It is going to get it's but kicked by a bunch of other EVs and some of them are 4 doors which is embarrassing for 2 door sports car. Also 180kw/h charging when that seems like it is a future mainstream for many other EV manufacturers and especially those in the price range. Mopar needed an EV that made people have to think whether they wanted a Hellcat or it's EV counterpart which is no longer much of a counterpart. BIg disappointment.
@fgeiger418 ай бұрын
It'll only be a fail if the price is outrageous. There's waaaaayyyy more power in the pipeline and the V6 powered cars were anything but a fake with much less. If it's in the $60s it'll fall flat on its face in the current economic environment. Of course it had ZERO competition.
@panamaklz8 ай бұрын
These are their "entry" and "mid level" EV's. They're still quite capable especially if they are priced competitively. Their fastest one, named the Banshee and will be the EV replacement of the Hellcat, will more than likely be competitive to the Lucid Air Sapphire and Tesla Model S Plaid. The specs for that trim level have not been revealed yet.

I've owned a 20026 Chrysler 300 SRT8 A 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT A 2015 Jeep SRT A 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat A 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD Luxury 3 You don't truly understand EV till you own one and live with one. The reality is that unless you have a house/ garage or private charger, you're gonna have to deal with public charging. Public charging IS TERRIBLE. #1 The chargers tend to be unreliable, slow or can be damaged - people are STEALING plugs to get the copper. #2 It takes me 7 hours overnight to recharge my 102 kWh battery. I can do it whilst I sleep. No problem. #3 It takes up to 1 hr and 30 minutes to recharge on a public charger (EVgo 100 kW). #4 Tesla Superchargers tend to take up to 40 minutes. The dodge EV wasn't built showing a Tesla NACS. It was showing a CCS Combo. They are using 400 volt architecture (obsolete) and are already obsolete because they are using CCS. They claim the Dodge Banshee will be 800 volt architecture - so lets hope they include NACS. There is NO WAY the Banshee can compete with Tesla Plaid or Lucid Sapphire. Yes they cost way more, but the Banshee will probably be marked up above sticker and only a few will buy them. I feel that using the same front end for the 4 door and the 2 door is simply LAZY. The 2015 Charger was a gorgeous looking car and the widebody looked even better. I personally don't this is going to be good for Dodge. The Sixpack will probably sell better but only after a lot of discounts.
@nimabeee_playzyt33398 ай бұрын
They should have designed the car as an ev, not like an ICE vehicle. That's where the designed problem is. Hopefully, they also switch to NACS like everyone else and start including adapters. I don't know how it will compete against tesla, but it might be with Lucid since they are new and don't have a well-known reputation yet. I'm hoping an ev muscle will encourage others to do the same.

@fgeiger418 ай бұрын
Is a good move but is gonna come down to price. If they have economy of scale in production and can keep parody with ICE manufacturing, costs it'll be a win. Interior is very nice but weight is up there. I wish the front end had more drama and the side view will definitely linn stripes to wake it up. People don't realize that's how tesla does it. Their cost to build a pretty outstanding product is everything and allows them to constantly lower cost, maintain crazy margins and 2.0 of that process is around the corner.

Evs aren't worth it. There's not enough infrastructure and they create almost the same amount of carbon pollution as gas cars. They run on the idea that maintenance is cheaper but don't tell you need new batteries in 10 years and they cost 20k

A Tesla is faster, weighs less and a charging network. Multiple youtubers TKs garage, Oc Motivator and Butter da insider have went into great detail why these cars are a total failure. These cars are limited to under 138 mph. Teslas, gas powered Chargers and Challengers will eat these bricks for lunch. Why are you making these bricks sound great and people buy them? Once people research the details, they will buy a Tesla or other gas vehicle before wasting money on these bricks. The Dodge brotherhood won't be buying these 6000lb brick slow cars.

EV doesn't need to sell the same or better than the TT I6 it just needs to sell. That's it, that's all. It's not a competition, it’s a cash flow reset, a way for the brand to stop handing over millions of dollars to Tesla for carbon credits and giving cash to the government in fines. If the EV does what it's supposed to and curb the hemorrhaging outbound cash flow then they can get back to building more fun stuff. It's a reset like Dodge did in 2006.

@@Akecherfd8424 sales won’t be at zero. We both know that’s highly unlikely and unrealistic. Take a step back from the electric hate and think about the financial impact. Dodge said instead of paying for 5 Tesla plaids for every 1 HEMI we are gonna offer their own electric car for those that want it instead of giving money to Tesla. Also, to reduce the fines by the government offer a gas car that’s not as “smog dirty” as a HEMI. Now Dodge can utilize money for R&D on future fun stuff. Yeah, it’s not what customers want to hear but nobody wants to pay 6-figures on ALL HEMI cars in 2024 and beyond. MSRP on 2023 cars was only the beginning. It’s chess not checkers, it’s business.
