I've had this exact same trim with the 1.5L turbo engine and I absolutely love my car. I also got a premium color, Sonic Gray, which looks great on the car, albeit, it's become a bit too popular for me. The driver seat leather is a bit uncomfortable, so I did get a memory foam seat cushion for myself and I wish the hatch had a button to lower it. I just took it on my first long trip to Los Angeles from where I live in central California, and it handled the hills between here and there well. It was also a very comfortable driving experience. Highly recommend and maybe you can test the turbo sometime. Great, informative video.

I just bought this exact car brand new from Honda (same one as in this video - 2024 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hatchback, M/T, boost blue) and I love it. Matt does an excellent job of describing everything - it all works as he describes. The only thing I don't like (can't stand actually) is the Auto Idle Stop. When you come to a stop, put the car in neutral, and let up the clutch, it always turns the engine off (engine starts again when you next press the clutch). Well I do this at every traffic light since they average 1 minute long and I don't like my left leg muscles getting tired constantly holding the clutch pedal down at every single light. Now on a CVT this probably isn't so much an issue, but on a M/T this may really bother some drivers (especially if you don't want your battery or starter wearing down - even though they put in a larger battery for this so called "feature". There is an Auto Idle Stop Off button to prevent this but it doesn't remember the setting the next time you start the engine (Honda goofed on this) so you have to always remember to hit this button every time you start the engine (or you will get a harsh reminder at the first stop since it's power up default is always enabled). Fortunately I found a solution. There is a device called "IdleStopper" you can install which makes the power-up default be off.

@@MattTheCarguyActually Honda does not believe they goofed - they designed it this way on purpose (and apparently are proud of it). In their owners manual (p. 503) it says "The Auto Idle Stop system is turned on every time you start the engine, even if you turned it off the last time you drove the vehicle.".

Yes I know they designed it this way on purpose and I already read that sentence on p. 503 before posting. What I completely disagree with is their implementation (perhaps that's how I should have said it ;). What they should have done is restore the Auto Idle Stop setting to what it was when the engine was last turned off. Their design forces down everyone's throat Auto Idle Stop to always be on at engine start time. What about people who don't want their engine turning off? They get a harsh reminder the first time it does so and get fuming mad because they don't want to have to (or can't) remember to have to press the Auto Idle Stop Off button every single time they start the engine. The Honda forums are full of angry MT people with the way Auto Idle Stop works. By instead, restoring the setting at engine start, everyone gets their way - those who like driving with it on will get it on, those who like driving with it off will get it off. And if they wish to change it during driving, they still can with the Auto Idle Stop Off button just as you can now. OR the other thing could have been to make it a Vehicle Settings option to be able to turn it off (which they still could do).

1.5T is the only powertrain available here in US for this model. Maybe its different outside of U.S

I hate that the auto idle stop still shuts you down even with the a/c off. The seats are a bit thin, but overall I love mine. I have it in the smokey mauve pearl. I definitely get the looks

By limiting the throttle, shifting less often, cutting back on the air conditioning, and limiting fuel injection it saves gas usage. At least that's the official version 😀
