I have a 2023 GRC Circuit edition and love going around the rotary by RV parking where I live. The car is also fun to dive into corners in 2nd gear, then power out of the turn as the car slides and works to keep traction simultaneously. It's an angry little beast much different than most cars out there. Perfect for the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee. The noise coming out of my engine and exhaust isn’t piped through the speakers, so I'm not sure what Raiti is talking about. The stock exhaust is fine and plenty loud enough for my liking. I've had the car for a little over a year with less than 5k miles on the clock. I might trade it in for an MR2 if Toyota decides to build a modern MR2, but it would be a tough decision. As a hatchback with all-wheel drive, the GRC is a handy little car. Only slightly longer than my old Boxster, the GRC has much more usable space. I'll probably keep my GRC for the next 10 years at least.

@brodiwheeler7583 l bought my first daily driver auto car in 2012...after nearly 50 years of car ownership. Shifting gears doesn't give me any excitement anymore. New autos shift faster, usually better on gas, sticks get crap for resale and not a pain in traffic.
@brodiwheeler7583Ай бұрын
@@islanddon865 For me, I’ve rev matched (floating) hundreds of thousands of gears driving truck for 13+ yrs. Learned to drive in my Pop’s ‘86 Ranger with lift and bigger tires and stock clutch, first car I ever financed was a manual ‘96 Camaro, driven hundreds of clients cars that were manual for my car hauling transport and when I worked for a detailing shop in Cali in the late 90’s, and driven hundreds more when I used to sell cars for a living. Manuals are fun, and if there was a car that I loved that only came in manual (Integra Type-S), or had an optional CVT (WRX) it wouldn’t stop me from owning the manual… but if it has an optional Auto, these days… absolutely agree with you, I’m taking the auto. modern autos are excellent! All the “Enthusiast manual-only” gatekeepers can go wiggle their sticks all they want if it makes ‘em feel better about themselves, and they can hate if they want to while they’re roasting their clutch & I’m gapping them in an automatic. They like to think because they can go through all the motions and rev-match blah, blah, blah, that it somehow makes them superior to someone who chooses an auto, but really it just exposes their fragile-over-inflated ego. So you can shift gears the old way? WOW! Here’s a cookie 🍪. I’d much rather just pull a paddle or tap the lever up/down and I’m in the next gear instantly! Way quicker, and have my right hand free to do other things in the car if I want 😉 Technologically speaking, Autos are objectively the more advanced transmission these days, and manual lovers can call themselves a “purist” if they want, I just don’t GAF about all the trendy auto-shaming from those that enjoy rowing their own… I mean from a motorsports perspective, what top-level race cars are still using clutch pedals to go through all the gears these days? Are the pro drivers somehow “not a real enthusiast” because they didn’t go through the 3-4 step process to shift every gear? So lame, quit making a religion out of it. People forget that everyone enjoying motoring in the way they like, and all the different tastes and styles are what makes it so awesome! Enjoying what’s fun for yourself, and appreciating all the diversity, freedom and independence of others enjoying what they like, IS PRECISELY what makes the world-wide car community awesome! I’m all for # savethemanuals for those that want them. But, 2-more gears, faster shifting GR tuned Automatic just makes the GRC even better for my preference. Stay safe & sane up there in The Emerald City traffic! Aloha 🤙🏼

I think the better question is: is that cornlog 1.6L three cylinder better than the M20A that is in the base Corolla? NO. No it is not. Toyota and everyone else with a 3 digit IQ knows that 4cylinders are better than three for performance, in every aspect. Why would you not build/tune/turbo the 2.0L 4 cylinder? I don't even want an I3 in a motorcycle let alone a car.
@kengit2Ай бұрын
You’re not serious. It’s ironic you talk about IQ when your comment is displaying a lack of critical thinking, comprehending the ingenuity of this engine and why Toyota chose to go this path for their rally program. This engine was first and foremost developed for sanctioned competitive rallying and we are lucky to have it in a regular production car. The M20A has zero racing pedigree and was never a part of a full racing development program. If you ask me I think Toyota was showing off their engineering prowess by optimizing a power plant with one less cylinder and bravo to them. If the supercar maker Koenigsegg can develop a 1.7 million dollar 600 hp hyper car powered with only 3 cylinders your comment really has no leg to stand on. 3 cylinders presents opportunities to reduce rotational mass and frictional forces while reducing overall weight but it takes engineering ingenuity to optimize and tap into its full potential.
