Having hard plastic on top of doors panels is ok cause you won't leave a mark of your elbow, i had a car with soft top panels and it was a eye sore. I'm driving a rav4 Le hybrid , a year now and no dent or marks were i put my elbow ,overall is a great vehicle. Cheers!..

The RAV4 is almost impossible to beat. It has enviable MPG's, which is amazing considering its high weight, and it will be very hard for Mazda to beat it. 36k is the sweet spot for the SUV segment; that will end up being 40k out the door; above that you would be sorely tempted to get a Tesla with the 7500 tax credit.

The materials are improved for the higher trim levels. Those have soft leatherette on all the doors from the armrest to the window.

There is a redesigned coming soon. I hope they improve on the material and keep all of the buttons especially knowing Toyota they will charge a lot for these and dealers are gonna mark it up.

36k for this base model interior is a hard sell imo. Feels like Toyota just charges whatever they want nowadays, knowing that their fans will eat it up regardless of what the competition is offering. Love their reliability and exterior designs, but I'll look elsewhere!

The silver trim on Toyota Rav 4s and Honda CR-Vs kills me... I hate it and don't get why we don't get a black trim option. And why no class 2 hitch receiver... Otherwise its a decent car, but I kinda hate this trim..the others are fine, but i think this could have used a bit more "outdoor" features like better materials for the seats, better hitch, remove the silver trim to make it more practical for outdoor stuff.
