Is the 2025 Kia Sorento a good family car?

So perfect for my family of 4! We have a 2025 hybrid EX AWD and it gets phenomenal MPG and has plenty of space for my family and 2 kids (one forward facing and one rear facing car seat) Extremely impressive snow mode as well. Yes it is small, but for the occasional third row use it’s not big deal. We also have a pickup for camping and such so space isn’t a problem for the daily and the road trip type situation

Bought a 2025 PHEV as we live in a small town and the battery gets us most places. Have a 1 year old and frequent family visitors. For the three of us it’s an incredible amount of space. We road trip with our dog a lot and never feel crowded. When family visits we can get 5 adults plus our car seat around pretty comfortably but in that scenario there is NO trunk space. Overall we absolutely love it, but are hoping to see the Telluride become a PHEV in the next few years so we can get even more space. Great video as always Car Mom!

My wife and I are retired and have a 2016 Sorento we bought new. It’s one the best vehicles we have ever owned. It has a third row which we keep folded down but it is there for the times we need one.

Personally I have the 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid. Would have gone with the Telluride if they had a hybrid option. I love my Sorento though. I have 2 kids right now and babysit one. Working on a 3rd kid to add into the mix. My oldest is already in a booster and by the time baby is here my 2nd child will be in a booster as well. The one I babysit is forward facing now so I’ve been used to the “limited leg room”. I had the rear facing seat behind the drivers seat and honestly should have switched it to the passenger side bc I move that seat all the way forward when no one is sitting next to me to give my kids the most room. Also my oldest sits in the 3rd row and more often than not I’m putting her in the car through the trunk lol. It’s just easier so I can make sure she’s buckled correctly and can help her if need be. We keep one of those large storage bins that has Velcro on the bottom so it helps keep things from moving around in the trunk.

Climate and radio same way in Sportage I just control radio from steering wheel. Use my favorite button to turn radio on and off. Plus I have voice recognition and can select am/fm sirus and change channels that way. So that way I never touch knows for radio. Volume control on steering wheel

Waiting for the day you review a dodge journey. I truly think it’s one of they most interesting 3 row SUVs since you can pick one up with fairly low miles for under 15k

Great review, thank you! 😊 I’m glad you talked about who this would be a good car for. My 2 kids are older so we don’t use the third row on a daily basis. I think the only reason I wouldn’t get this car is the AC vents in the second row and lack of vents in the third row. We live in Texas, so this unfortunately just won’t work. 😢 Why did they do that???

@@kathyware2005 so we live in the opposite extreme in Alaska, and the heater keeps the whole car warm even at -30. Not sure how the A/C works but it’s small enough I don’t think it would actually be a big problem

With 2nd row captain's chairs, if you fold the third row flat, it's still a bit of a projectile risk. I guess you could buy a cargo net to go behind the second row to block that channel between the two captain's chairs? Is that the preferred solution for part-time 3rd row use?

Yes there are hooks to strap down a stroller.

Had a sorento... had a 3rd kid.....Got the new GMC Acadia....night and day. sorento was unusable for 3 kids even with 3rd row
