Honestly, I could care less about the 3rd row. Everybody keeps trying to shove a 3rd row into literally every car on the road it seems. I'd rather have decent 2nd row room, and this doesn't have it (I'm 6'2). There's just no reason for a vehicle this size to have such a claustrophobic interior. The drive train bugs me as well. I'd much rather ditch the hybrid for the V6, but they don't/won't offer it (unless you get the GX550 for another $30K). Other than that, I really quite like the design, inside and out. I think it looks good. It's just not built for taller people and there are too many bad design decisions to make it worth consideration, particularly at the price point they're asking.

I "Crawled" up a short trail steeper than I ever wanna do again!! (Felt like 45 degrees!!) Drives great on the road... enough power to pull my 7 x 14 cargo trailer without drama...

The tires are killing me tho, could be better and would have have to buy better tire package but for the same price to avoid the hustle gx550 over trail will be better choice for me!

that 4 banger will constantly be in boost

Yep, that thing will be pressurized all it's life, which I suspect won't be as long as some of the LCs that have gone before it.

It's a land cruiser Prado, Toyota kinda has a marketing issue here in North America.

I thought it was more of a FJ remake and why I just bought one🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

This only has 8.7 inches of ground clearance (compared with 10.8" for a basic Wrangler Rubicon on 33" tires). No front locker either. It is not even in the same league as a Wrangler if you care about off road ability.

Not going to lie, I would buy an FJ Cruiser over this any day. They should have brought the European Land Cruiser over

Front left tyre definitely looks to be a touch low…

Does the front section look too big and out of proportion or it is a matter of perspective

I get why they dropped the V8, but they could’ve used the tried and true 4L V6 from the 2025 and earlier 4Runner as an option.

Should have used the hybrid from the previous generation Highlander. That V6 hybrid was underrated and underused
@meadmaker45257 күн бұрын
I'd have been a LOT more interested in this LC if they'd have put that 4L V6 in it instead of this hybrid drive train. Toyota's obsession with stuffing Prius-derived hybrids in literally everything is killing my interest in anything they make. That V6 and a manual transmission/transfer case would have been the real sweet spot.

@@meadmaker4525 yes sir. Even the Lexus LS Hybrid would have been nice to have. I want to get a Sienna and engine swap it with the Highlander V6 hybrid or the Lexus LS Hybrid engine

@ - That would be a cool project. A nightmare to pull off, but cool if you got it to work.

The problem with the 4l V6 is that it is super anemic and outdated. In fact, I had 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer up until last Oct. that had a better engine (4.2l DOHC I6) than the 4Runner V6. Had about the same power, a little more torque, and better fuel economy - from a 20 year old SUV.

I'm only getting 19 MPG but put Wildpeak AT4Ws and removed the front air dams.

Super capable, super luxurious, even the base model has decent cloth seats. Not for people who drive 100% onroad.

any yota better than any CDJR product any day!!!

Normally, I'd agree with you, but with their V6s detonating due to shoddy build quality and this 4-cylinder hybrid being actual trash, I wouldn't consider anything with a Toyota symbol on it at the moment. They've gone in the wrong direction here recently. Hoping they'll maybe get some new leadership and turn it around again soon.

This thing could not touch a Wrangler Rubicon from a capability point of view. With Jeep's naturally aspirated engines (3.6l and 2l turbo with the ZF 8 speed transmissions), they are pretty reliable too. I wouldn't get the 4XE at this point though - it is quite complex, just like this LC power train, not a great characteristic if you want reliabiity.
