When it starts service at the end of 2023, the 777-9 does have one huge advantage of the A380: it can operate out of airports that were already designed to use the 747, most of which were upgraded in the late 1960's to middle 1970's. That saves a lot of money for airport operators.

747 was never expected to succeed - so it was designed for cargo. There will always be something special about the 747, its essentially the only aircraft variant that is instantly recognizable by everyone! The 777X will be exciting to experience too - but at this point, I'm more impressed with narrow-body variants like the C-Series (being Canadian the A220 will always be the C-Series to me 😎) - and whenever the 797 gets developed to be the new, modern 757, that too will be a game-changer.

Maybe unpopular opinion but I prefer the 777 over the A380. A380 from my experience is over hyped unless you have the cash for premium seating. Sadly looks like the chance of be flying on a 747 is dwindaling everyday.

For passenger flights, the 777x seems much better due to the lower maintenance requirements of two engines. I'm curious about how well the 777x will do for cargo.

Extend the main deck on the 777-9 compared to the 777-300ER and the cargo bays are also extended. I would imagine that the cargo version of the 777-9F will be very close to the capacity of the 747-400F. I am not quite sure it will be anywhere close to the 747-8F

The cargo 747 will live on. The fact that the nose opens is a big deal.

Wasn’t there a Dash-10? It’s even pictured in the video with a 10 on the tail

There once were talks about a 777-10, but I doubt that it will ever be launched given how long it is and how small the market for aircraft bigger than the 777-9 is. The aircraft with the 10 on its tail is a 787-10, NOT a 777 ;)

can you give a comparison of 777x and a350? though a350 is already in service,I read on the composite fuselage as superior to 777X's metal.. hope you can do a fair comparison.. news on the premature paintwork corrosion on the a350,will that contribute to higher long term maintenance compared to the 777X? thanks

My preference is for one that won't suddenly do a death dive.

A380 always. ❤️🔥❤️

The 747 will always be queen of the skies and there is something majestic about them (not the A380 though), but the new 777's look stunning as well. Hopefully Boeing has learnt their lessons from the 737 disasters and, the associated drive to push costs ever down for the sake of shareholder return.

Simple Flying: we still think the A321XLR will be the only aircraft airlines would ever want.

Will just depend on the airline and how it's configured.
@johniii81473 жыл бұрын
@Harold Yeoh LOL..and how would you claim to know that since the 777-9 has yet to carry a single paying passenger and you haven't seen how the airlines will configure them that will fly them. That's funny dude.
@johniii81473 жыл бұрын
@Harold Yeoh A majority of carriers have the 777 in a 1-2-1 business class configuration if it's been installed in the last few years. EK and BA are exceptions. 1-2-1 is now considered the standard for direct isle access. Even BA is moving to that as they roll out their new new business class.
