Other than the chassis which is fundamentally inferior, the aero is pretty much unregulated and that's were it's getting it's performance. Also, it's allowed to run 1000HP at all times, where as the Toyota can only do that at certain speeds.

And no the aero of the hypercars is more sophisticated. The porsche 963 is faster than the valkyrie around laguna seca despite 320 less horsepower. If it had less aero that would be impossible

@@Jesko. Either way, the maximum deployment unrestricted deployment is around 1000hp, I think 968hp or something like that. Also no, the hypercar aero is not necessarily more sophisticated. It's literally capped by the regulations, I think the limit is something like 1:4 or something like that. The Valkyrie AMR Pro has no such restriction, the reason why it is slower than the 963 is a matter of set up. The Valkyrie AMR Pro runs a dummy set up which keeps makes it understeer a lot more and ride a softer, so it's slower but more forgiving safer for the less skilled drivers that will buy them to drive. The main downside for the Valkyrie was more in chassis limitation than aero.

The hypercars definetely make more than 2 tons of downforce. Also the weight stated in this video is wrong the amr pro weighs 1200 kg unlike what they wanted.

It's a pile of shit. Sounds good but it was much slower than projected. It's a derestricted LMH car that's only about as fast as LMP2/LMH and slower than LMP1. Imagine if it actually had to race under regulation. It would be at the back of the grid for sure.

Yeah it's brilliant, feels like the car of our generation. No, this is tge track car which is considerably faster. I think it will do well. AMR has a lot of experience in endurance racing. A detuned V12, if done well, should be more reliable than a smaller turbo engine with a hybrid system. The engines are quite reliable as they only have to make 700 hp though.

The valkyrie is lucky it's racing the gr010 around le sarthe. Because in reality, around a more corner race track,it is inferior. Source? The porsche 963 laps laguna seca around 1.14 to 1.15 with traffic. The Aston Martin valkyrie with no traffic does it in 1.19. The cadillac v series r in a foggy track partially wet did it in 1.17. That's still 2 seconds faster a lap. Despite the 1000 horsepower compared to the lmdh 680 hp.

Aston Martin themselves. The AMR Pro would lap Le Mans in 3:21 according to their simulations. Laguna Seca is the complete opposite to Le Mans, that's why the Valkyrie is better at Le Mans were power matters a lot more. Still I think that lap at Laguna Seca was far from being a qualy lap in competition with good track conditions.

@@Jesko. I looked quite far and only found one website displaying any sort of lap time, and they said it had passengers in the ride, wasn’t at its lowest ride height and only had 800 hp. Granted lowering ride height could pose issues for the corkscrew but still. The site I found said they got low 1:18’s and high 1:19’s which is pretty good for a car not being pushed to its limit

Yeah, you could see the valkyrie amr pro on the straights just dusts the gr010 with the almost 400 horsepower advantage. But through the corners the gr010 creeps back.

I didn't expect it to be that close given the Valkyrie has (literally) tons of downforce. Edit: It is super light but has lots of downforce so I would expect it to be better on the low speed sections of the track.

@@Tire24 It's not that light. It's a similar weight. The Valkyrie runs a similar chassis to the road car but just adapted for LMH regulations. It's cheaper to build but weaker in performance than a proper prototype chassis, which is why, despite not having legal aero, the performance is still close.

@@Jesko.that’s horribly misinformed. The AMR Pro is a completely unrestricted version of the Valkyrie LMH that was supposed to compete at Le Mans. The max power limit on LMH cars is around 640 hp. The AMR Pro has 1,000. It would not be allowed on that metric alone. And if that weren’t enough, the rear wing on the AMR Pro would also be illegal. If you want to see what their Valkyrie LMH actually looks like, Aston released images of it with a modified rear wing. They also reduced the power to the legal limit

I think, in a more downforce important circuit like Suzuka, the Toyota would win because of its ability to get off the line. Even though it has 2 long straights, I don't think there would be enough time at Suzuka to get by for the Aston Martin and the Toyota looks to have better acceleration and braking even though it's down on horse power.

​​​@@milesr4609The GR010 EVO proved to be the best package overall with just unlucky stuff that robbed them of the Le Mans 24H (crash incident and squirrel damaging their front splitter) while they won pretty much all the other races. It's quick & stable but most importantly it can manage its tyres so well. I mean in Bahrain the GR010 can babied a medium for so long while the 499P had to use hards because it can't manage its tyres well (a weakness that Ferrari really need to solve if they want a fighting chance next year)

Well this doesn’t look good for the Le Mans version. The Valkyrie can only barely stay ahead in the corners, and it only gains in the straights because it has a 400 hp advantage over the Toyota. Restrict the aero and the power and all of a sudden the Aston ain’t looking that good

The AMR VALKYRIE PRO had 850bhp whilst most 2010s LMP1 cars (like Emma & Karin's Peugeot 908s and Setsuna Yuki's Audi R18 and Yuu Takasaki's Audi R10 TDI for example), only have 750s.

No it won't. The valkyrie mar pro around laguna seca is 4-5 seconds slower than the lmdh. So only around a track le mans will it be faster. The chassis, weight, aero can all be expected to be improved.
