A well known economist by the name of Mohamed El-Erian and so many others economists have been warning the FED and our own Central Bank against keeping interest rate low long ago, but no one listened at that time. Now they are dealing with a runaway inflation and have no choice, but playing catch-up and raising rate mercilessly and savagely to cool it down. All I can see on the horizon is mounting of bankruptcy filings and mortgage defaults for many Canadians. THE ERA OF FREE BORROWING COST IS LONG GONE. Welcome to the new era where HIGH DEBT SERVICING COST becomes the new norm.
