Houston said he may leave But he Would Be Back! I’m 73 now. Hey Daniel, with that size pond you can probably get by with a floating solar fountain, which will aerate it, and helps with algae blooms too. Anyhow, you could get a 1.5 HP floating solar fountain for about $600, could be worth it even short term, unless you're content with draining and expanding it.

The favorite part of the videos are the big smiles on your faces when you catch those fish. Making a bigger pond would be expensive, but it could improve the habitat for those fish. I know the Lord will let you know what you need to do. It is a matter of finding the best information and then decide what needs to be done.

Y’all’s fishing videos are my favorite!!!! So yes, enlarging the pond would be a great investment. I actually used to own a house back in the 90”s that was on 43 acres and had a 4.5 acre pond. I caught a 8 pounder bass and a 6 pounder. Average was usually around 1 to 3 pound. Always released. Sold it in the late 90’s. Miss it to this day.

I personally with my equipment dug a pond that holds about 4.8 acres of water when it's full here in east Tx in January 2021 we actually finished the day of the record cold snap hit. After we got that couple of inches of snow we wound up with 11 1/2 inch rain in two days and with the massive runoff I have at this place water was going over the spillway after it was built. It's 3 1/2 years old now and the biggest bass it's caught is 5.1 pounds

Hello Daniel. Have you watched Bama Bas 5 acre pond build? Might give you some ideas for structure, and gravel/sand beds and such. I think that a pier would be a fantastic addition as well. I think it could be a really good idea, as you said, to remove a few feet of muck. If much of that is organic material, getting rid of it, and maybe adding some water plants would reduce the oxygenation problems. I really wish you luck.

Build a holding cage 4’Lx2.5’wx2.5’h for transporting fish. Use half inch hardwire mesh to keep unwanted guests out. Hinge the door to open to your preference and spring load it. A good latch is a must. Float it so as to utilize all the space while at the same time ease of adding fish. A short sided watering trough to set the cage in for the transport. Please add water. 🤠 If you do or don’t catch and release, my suggestion would be to clean out a good path of least resistance to the creek. This may not be a feasible solution. I was thinking about putting your equipment to work. Whatever the case, I wish yall the very best of success. 🐟🎣🤠

If you drain the pond, you could do a huge harvest of bass and bluegill, and once you have all you can handle, release the remainder to the creek. I wonder how long it would take to refill the pond after the expansion is done.

Still saddens me to think about how many big bass you lost out of the pond... Like they say it is what it is. It's great you're thinking about ideas to refresh the pond and even make it bigger, I agree with you Houston is in the prime years and he will grow up fast❤. Love you guys. Enjoy your blessed day XXXO 💕😁

It was so great seeing you both out on the pond. I’m praying for it to work out because the pond is such a big part of your memories and sun with Houston and for yourself. I’m not going to talk to what to do cause I I’m not you but I where you are, I would do it if possible Or even put some of those air things in to try to save it till Houston goes on

Weather you decide to expand your pond or not maybe a fountain would airate the pond enough so the fish wont die next time. Im not sure of it will help that much but its a thought. It was sad to see Houston so upset from losing all the fish. It will be exciting to watch the expansion happen if you do it.
