I like the Aorus Pro Ice white aesthetic but mobos like the Asus X870E-E and the MSI Carbon have 13 USB ports (all USB 3.2 Gen2). The sweet spot for a X870E board for me is a pure white aesthetic with 11+ USB ports (3.2 Gen1 or higher), 2x PCIE slots and 4x M.2 slots (2x Gen 5 and 2x Gen 4). Balance it out with no bandwidth sharing and space out the M.2 slots to accommodate third party heatsinks. If a manufacturer can do that, it will be a great board. Unfortunately current boards share too much bandwidth and not enough white options.

I had issues with am5 motherboards from all brands, until I got a gigabyte x670e aorus master... Then I got the white x670e pro X, no issues... If the if zen5 x3d is good I will pick this white x870e for my new build

Thanks for the review. Do you know if you can use 2 M.2 slots without slowing down the GPU? I read the manual and it says bandwidth is only shared with PCIEX16 if you use the M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU connectors. However, if you use M2A_CPU and M2D_SB, it is presumably fine and won't affect the GPU from what I understand

Yes you are right. I mentioned that in the video. The best slots are the top 2 M.2 and PCie. I do not know how to not limit the speeds if you are to use the bottom gen 5 M.2 slots. I think it is wired this way and there is no way to change that.

@@aarontran3826 you can use M2A_CPU and M2D_SB without impacting the amount of lanes the PCIEx16 slot gets - that's the M.2 slot above the PCIE slot and the middle M.2 slot in the 3 below it.

2 pump connectors, some people do 1 water loop for cpu, and a seperate water loop for gpu, so youd have 2 seperate pumps/loops.

Yes. But it's already been tested on the 5090. Cyberpunk at 4k ultra in both 16x and 8x was 0.6fps difference. It was literally nothing. 16x scored 108.8 amd 8x scored 108.2. Don't even sweat the 8x stuff.

@@RealMelTan they were never going to. Hel it only drops 2 frames going down to pcie 4 x8. Bandwidth won't be an issue for at least the next 2 gens unless nvidia pull some absolutely stupid power out of somewhere. Don't see that happening.

Hello. Do you have any information on the maximum width spacing on the M2 slots? For example, the MSI X870E Carbon's manual provide the maximum width for each slot for users intending to use third party heatsinks. The Aorus Pro's manual does not provide the same info. I'm considering using the Graugear G-M2HS06 (25.5mm width) or the IDCooling Zero M15 (23mm). Thanks!

Still deciding if I want to grab this mobo or not. I don't mind these are 6-layer PCB, but the shared lane between M2B & M2C with X16 is a big bummer. The difference between running a 4090 in X8 config vs X16 is minimal, but still feels rather wrong, coming from a STRIX B650E-E (changing to a white mobo) By the way, have you updated this motherboard with the latest BIOS F3i? If so, is there any significant differences that you noticed?

I guess the easiest way is to just use the top 2 M.2 and PCie slots. But yea if you want to use the bottom 2, its a compromise. That said, I really like that this board is fully white, no other brands have done a full white board. Oh I dont think I am on F3I yet, I think I am still on F3F. I am still trying to figure out how much extra you get from using the Turbo X3D mode

This was already tested on the 5090. it makes almost zero difference. Cyberpunk 4k ultra 16x was 108.8fps and 8x was 108.2fps.

Yes you can, they are separate ports. You use the DP on your GPU for your main monitor, and the special HDMI for a smaller screen.

Hi Exodess, the board is made this way. From what I think, there are only so many lanes, and there are 3 gen 5 M.2 slots on this board. Compromise must be made to have so many gen 5 slots and PCie slots.

The number of PCIE lanes is different. The pro also has an extra pcie slot. There's a few other IO diferences too. Like gigabyte adding the internal hdmi port for a hardware monitor inside the system.

Except it's incorrect to say "No DisplayPorts because of USB 4". It's misleading. YOU CAN have a DisplayPort, but you have to put it in the USB 4 slot. They both use the same port. So if anyone's wondering if they can plug a DisplayPort into this motherboard, yes you can. Use USB 4.0. Also, I just realized I typed this on my girlfriend's account. She's not the IT person so don't ask her for IT info lolol.

Yup i think you are right. The top 2 PCIe n M.2 are not affected (from the CPU). The bottom gen 5 slots are different and will be affected.

Is there a way to go into the BIOS and just make those 2 extra PCI-E 5.0 X4 M2 slots downgraded to PCI-E 4.0 4X or something? Because I will need to use one of them (I have 3 NVME). But it will be a PCI gen 4 NVME. All that said a GPU at PCI-E 5.0 X8 is the same as a a PCI-E 4.0 X16 in bandwidth. So not really losing anything.

Yes I think you can change the gen setting in the BIOS. You have to search for the PCIe page and there should be a way to drop the lanes from gen 5 to gen 4.

hi,my man i have a problem with this board...i use a 9800x3d,32 gb ram ddr5 fury beast expo certified.Put the 2 ram sticks in the correct slots for dual ofc BUT when i restart my pc the ram in the slot A2 wont get recognized(after every restart).When i turn off my pc and turn it on again it works perfect,it only occurs on restarts.(swap the ram so its not from the ram stick). I connected the CPU in only one 8pin(the one to the right,wanted to say that cuz this mainboard has two...12v_2x4_2 and 12v_2x4_1..mine is connected in the 12v_2x4_1) What do you think the problem is?? do i need to connect the CPU in the other slot the one with 12v_2x4_2 ? Or what could be the problem ? Pc works fine...no crash....gaming like crazy.But on every restart this happens. Thanks in advance and new sub here cuz your content is very nice:D

there are 2 CPU fan headers one CPU_FAN and other OPT_OUT, in the OPT_OUT you have to stick the pump normaly but the pump go 100% for a few seconds when you boot the system, so I use it in CPU_FAN and dosnt go apeshit when turning on the system. Is just a header dosnt realy mater were you stick it it will work anyway.

@@20zX-games Oh hey, I am not an expert at this. But let me try. According to the manual, if you are to install the an SSD in the bottom 2 gen 5 slots, your GPU will lose half its bandwidth. So your graphics card will not be able to run at the full potential, if you are use to all the M.2 slots.
