Green river if correct is also making bourbon for blue note and those juke joint cask strength from the Rick house collapse was there stuff and it's outstanding.

Buffalo Trace whiskeys are so hard to get here 😅 they may have good stuff, but it’s not worth the hunt or the price. Buffalo Trace standard bourbon would be worth the price, I’d think. I prefer Wild Turkey 101 though. The higher proof is great.

We've got some ideas about a behind the scenes video (studio + bottle collection tour + blind sample pool insight). Not sure when that will happen as there's a few more pieces of equipment we need to pull it off, but it'll get done at some point when things in the studio are fully finalized and we also have a camera capable of a vlog setup.

Agreed, but it’s higher proof which could be a turnoff to those hesitant to jump in the 100 proof pool, and it’s actually easier to find Blanton’s in many markets than John J Bowman (ours included).

Hands down GR WHEATED is way better for the price and availability.. GR wins. GR also stands up great or better than Weller 107 wheated .. BONKERS!! half the price and available!!!(Weller MSRP is 40$ but realisticly you will almost never find at that price, mostly 70-80$)

I don't know why "smooth" is a dirty word in the whiskey community. All it means to me is a higher proof whiskey that doesn't hit you in the front of your tongue with the alcohol burn because it's been aged long enough to take that edge off.

You said something Josh that caught my attention, you mentioned that the show is about Erin. While she is entertaining, you are knowledgeable. I have to admit it, I drink bourbon or other spirits "straight" about 10 times a year. Most of what I drink are homemade cocktails. With that said, I will still watch your videos. Green River is great. Did the distillery tour and from what I've seen they have great things coming. Crazy how Bardstown Bourbon Company bought them. Wonder how long Green River will stay at 30.

Appreciate the content, good to see you both enjoying what you're doing. Blanton's can be legit good, and you don't lose any whiskey cred by picking it in a blind. Is it worth secondary? Not in my opinion, but it's also not garbage...though it's fair to say the bottles do vary for sure. All that said, Green River seems to be holding its own for that price point!

I was surprised to see Josh pick the Blanton's. The last time I remember it being in a blind, it was basically a tossup with Ancient Age. I think y'all basically said you would take whichever was cheaper and more readily available, which obviously was the AA. Cheers!

Your memory serves you well. Not 100% sure if that was from the last bottle or this bottle of Blanton’s but pretty sure it was this one. AA and Blanton’s may be more closely aligned in flavor profile while Green River is more closely aligned in overall experience. Definitely an interesting comparison and would make for a fun flight. I continue to be baffled by the incredible hype around Blanton’s. I get they are single barrels, and therefore vary, but even the best ones are just okay relative to other options.
