Is the BETA more READY TO RACE??

Today the IRC Tire guy sits down with James Flynn Pro US Hard Enduro rider and talks his transition to Beta from Gas Gas.

I've been a Beta owner since 2012. I was fortunate enough to learn about the company early in their Enduro production. Tim Pilg was gracious enough to get me tour of the Beta factory just outside of Florence Italy. My wife and I made the trip from Florence on a rented Ducati for the day. What a cool experience! They don't "do" tours, so it was very meaningful as a consumer. The fact that a major motorcycle company took the time to do this for a customer, mean a lot, and I will always be a Beta owner for that reason. It's been fun to see the company grow and see the progression of responses from fellow riders from "What' the hell is a Beta?" to "Oh, that's a great motorcycle". I love the low end snap on the 300 motor, something that separates them from the rest. Hope they never change it.

Beta is a stand up company, and the bikes are well built, reliable, and very nice bikes. They support and they stand behind their products. I have a 22 390rrs and a 23 200 race edition and i could not be happier. Imagine if they make us a 700 platform someday, I'm wishing!!

It's funny you said that. I just commented on another video about Beta needing to slap together two 390s to make a twin and jump into the lightweight ADV market.

Did a beta demo last weekend. Been on 300s for years. Had the most fun on the beta 200rr. Had an absolute blast on the bike. seemed to be nimble and still plenty of power. Ride on 🤙

Im happy with my GasGas TPI from 2021 but hat to add a lot of upgrades to work right and fit my riding. WP6500 cartridge Kit for the forks, reworked setup for the shock, coober head, coober ecu, vforce 4r reeds, idle screw were the biggest changes.. and a lot of time to dial the stuff in, especially the idle screw. You dont need this things on a Beta 300 Racing! I had the Option to buy the gasgas for a very good price, so its ok for me. I had Betas before and i have to say that working on the bike, service and stuff like that is easier on the GasGas. And the bike fits better for bigger guys like me. If i had the same decision to make again, i would propably go with the beta because of the suspension. Its so good out of the box. But right now i Like my Gasgas as it is :) Greetings from Germany ✌️

I ride a 2021 Beta 300 Race Edition. I ride elevations from 2500 to 10,000 feet. I run stock pilot, 160 main, Suzuki NEDK needle in 2nd clip slot from top. The bike runs darn good. Love it!!

I'm done with orange, way to many issues nowdays, can't use all the fuel in em,hell can't even change a freeking sparkplug now without having to remove the tank! No I'm done paying 10k + for a bike you need to throw lots of money at to get to where it should be in the first place! No for me it has to have a carb and a backup kickstart for a lot less cost,that's why I jumped ship to rieju this year and it feels more alive, great engine, dlc coated kyb suspension stock,wow this is what great bike feels like,I'm never going back to tpi/tbi !

Agreed. After the last decade of running KTM/Husq, I'm done. Picked up a 24 300 RR Race Edition myself. Blows them KTM's out of the water. Plus you can't beat their after purchase support/warranty. KTM would tell you to pound salt an hour after picking it up from the dealer. Saved myself near $4k on a Beta over a new KTM too.

What needle, position, and jetting are you running on your Rieju, if I may ask? Rich got to ride mine stock and it runs rich (no pun intended!). I moved the stock needle to the 2nd position and that seems to have helped a bit. Wondering if I should try the Suzuki needle and which one? Thank you!

@@Rieju300 my dealer rides a rieju mr300 pro, so sets his sale bikes up really well I dont know what exactly he dose to em,but my bike runs great, crisp right from the bottom to the top! Many suggested the suzuki needle as very good

Hey! So stoked with this video! So 😅 happy that I made the right decision on a 2022 300RR. I’m riding at 0-2k elevation on 80 up F Temps. 162MJ 35PJ and NECJ 3. On 1/8 to 1/4 TR I hear some detonation. Any recs about this? Would a head insert help with this? Thank you so much for your awesome vids and advice!

Absolutly love my 2023 beta 300 rr. 72H Hard beaten but also well maintainend without any failure. I would like to try the kyb racing Modells... 200/300/350 and and xtrainer with kyb... I will stay with beta and carburator ❤

I will pick my 2023 beta rr racing over my 2020 ktm xcw (with almost every mod available), anyday of the week for enduro. It has soo much low down power and it feels much lighter(probably because of the head angle). Cant say enough good about it.

Nice video and breakdown of the differences. I have tried the KTM brands a few times but the reliability and the performance is just not there yet! I am a big guy so the TPI 300 bikes feel like a 150 with a flywheel weight. My kids have Betas that are approaching 200 hrs and they have been awesome!!

I've ridden my 22 300 race from 600 feet to almost 11k on the same jetting, just turn the air screw. I have it jetted lean and perfect for 600 feet. Just a really good running bike and very tolerant of jetting laziness, nothing like a YZ250 you gotta rejet every 10F or 1500 feet.

What are your insights on 4-stoke bikes? I have a 2023 500-excf. I feel that it has enough power and is easy to control. I added some carbon fiber plates as well for protection. I am not anywhere as experienced as you both and would love to know what things I may need to upgrade to improve my experience

4 strokes are great for lots of stuff! It’s possible to hard enduro them. 2 strokes work a bit better here.

honda xl 125s from 1985(4T), and I'm wondering why the rpm goes up when i press the clutch when im in first gear and i dont move, this is my first 4T bike, the guy who sell me bike says that is normal Im verry noob I drive before this some 75ccm 2T bike? I bought this bike cuz it was cheap but it starts good and drive verry nice it seems like he is in good shape

Granted this video is directed towards two strokes, in the four stroke world you have to spend 800 bucks on an ECU to get the EXC un-constipated. My 2020 500 RR-S I put an FMF pipe on it and they reflashed the chip and i was off. Even if I didnt put a pipe on I wouldnt have to unconstipate my bike.

Of course it is! KTM/Husky group You need New Maps and retune to get things right, new rad caps, new guards for TPI crap lotta little bits need to be addressed on these bikes.

Def love the simplicity of a carbed bike. *My 4t Sherco 250f had a clogged injector that ended my AMA race at Kahuku the other month. Couldnt do a thing about it on the trail. End of Race. *Got 2nd to Anson

Had 2016 RR 300 model 1] Engine is awesome 2] suspension was shitty at the beginning - fork tubes and coatings were shite and wore out after just 40 hrs - now could be much better with KYB 3] plastics were very brittle in low temps (below 5-10 C)...overall plastics design felt cheap 4] electical wiring and contacts are shite (KTM doesnt excel in this either, but still is much better) 5] Beta had trialsy character about her and brought more confidence to do tricky stuff compared to my 2017 KTM 300 - probably due to lower ride height. But overall I moved to 300 KTM 2017 model and never looked back...still have my 2017 KTM perfectly tuned, with 950 hrs and dont plan to upgrade any time soon:)

Battery dieing highly unlikely? It happens all the time, hell my brand new rieju came with a dead battery! So did my mates new ktm! The new batteries are junk,mate of mine travelled hundreds of miles to an event, only to have his ktm battery pack up on the start line!

Yeah personally I always upgraded my battery. I also always ran a relay on my fan rather than connecting it directly to the battery.
