My dad daily drove a 1978 Porsche 911 SC twin plug for 11 years until he stopped a few months back and sadly sold her. Cars need to be driven to be enjoyed, not just sit there so you can make money on them! Cars are not going to be something to make money on, but to drive and enjoy!

The point of this car is that it’s a track car that was made street legal not a street car that was modified for the track, hence the lack of luxuries in the car and the manual suspension adjustment kit. killerfc909 Personally I feel like the M4 GTS is a better bang for your buck than the AMG GTR and the GT3 RS. It has nearly the same acceleration as the AMG and the GT3 RS is only .3 seconds faster than the M4 but costs $50k more. On top of that, the M4 is definitely going to become a collectors item (if it hasn’t already) due to the high performance and limited production numbers which may even raise the value of the car. It’s harder to say the same with the AMG GT and the GT3 RS

The M4 GTS isn't just double the price cause of the extra mods, its expensive cause its a rare limited edition collector's car. Everyone can Mod their M3/M4 to make it as fast for way cheaper. But if that's all you care about then you're missing the point of why automakers make these cars.

Maserati GT is overrated, but exhaust sounds great. Oversaturated market for it. It leases for about $1,600 a month for a $140k car. The RS7 runs just over $2k to lease and is 120k; the i8 is $135k and leases around $1500; and the C63s is $85k and leases at just over $1,600 (yes, more than an i8 lol). Much better cars IMO than a Maserati GT, though I would pick any of the mentioned cars over an M4 GT

The thing that made M cars so great was that you could live with them every day and still get excellent sports car performance when you want it. The M4 GTS compromises on almost everything that made M cars so great, and now it costs more than the Z06 Corvette, a Dodge Viper ACR, and Nissan GTR, and all of those cars whip the M4 GTS around a track. So no, the M4 GTS is definitely not worth $135k when compared to its competition.

People who buy these cars don't care about modding, you can mode any car to go faster but at the end of the day the M4 GTS due to it'r rarity and stock performance will be worth way more than a modified m4 in the long run. Subaru WRX STI had the water spray button, 20-25 years ago. This isn't a new tech. It's race proven. Cooler air means more air, means more burn, means more power. Ferrari F40 and other track type cars have cloth door pulls. Doug is right, this is an M4 for those people who want that next step above an M4. BMW will sell everyone of these. And all will have a BMW Bumper to Bumper Warranty. 😉

The hood latch is the same on my F80 M3 Competition Pack. I like the GTS but not for the additional cost. I like my heated leather (competition) seats and getting the extra GTS horsepower with a $700 tune.

Main distinction between this and the porsche gt3 is that the gt3 has a bespoke powerplant.. Also, the 911 is a sports car, so a track model makes sense. the Bmw 3/4 are sports sedans, so a track model makes less sense

If you're put off by the price, have a look at the new M4 CS - it has a lot of the same features as the GTS and has more power over the base M4. It's not as expensive as the GTS (not cheap either) and definitely worth a look at.

I saw on of these lapping the Nürburgring last autumn, while gt3s and gt3 rs were on the track. The sound was amazing! And also the fact that the driver was overtaking Porsches like no problem. The coolness probably is due to the weirdness of it. You wouldnt expect Bmw to make this car, like you expect gt3.. But fuck me there is a lot of 'merica in this comment section :D

I would have just taken my M4 and put 40k into mods....Could have done wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more. Nevermind all the cars I can buy for 140k. Then you have to think "I am already spending 140k, should I just spend a little bit more and get something way nicer? Another thing I don't like is they take so many features out of the car , that cost a lot of money, that they now get to save and instead put into the performance upgrades. So you add up what they save for taking stuff out, then add up what they spend on mods and I bet you they don't spend to much more money. BUT you are paying double.

The M4 GTS price is all in the suspension not the motor. That’s what you’re spending all the money for. You can make a regular M4 as powerful as GTS with a flash but it won’t handle as well on a track. You’re talking about a car that comes with a roll cage ffs

Every BMW has a double pull hood release. Being that there is no hood hand release once you get to the front of the car (you just lift), in order to keep an accidental unlatch from throwing the hood through your windshield on the highway, you need to pull it twice to fully release.

A nearly 7 year old viper is almost 16 seconds faster and the 10th fastest car on the list. That car started at a whopping $90,000... So, yeah, the 133k for the gts is becasue there are 300 in America. There is no other logical reason for that price. The standard M4 is 86th on the list with a 7:52.00
