I have a 2011 BMW X6M and have been super reliable, no issues at all. It’s literally everything you can ask for in a vehicle! It’s fast, AWD for any season, M competition, easily tunable,spacious and comfort and you feel like a king on the road, being higher than most vehicles and little pressure on the pedals and you can overtake EASILY! Truly a beast of a truck. Just keep maintenance and you’ll have a long term killer vehicle!!

@@leongooden9949go get one if you can . That’s the best handling suv I have ever had . I have 2016 gc srt , 2017 x5m , qx70 5.0 .you dont know how much I love e71 m , handling is way more better than newer models , it feels so conectes to the road , it feels so planted to the road . If you don’t do repairs with dealer , it’s ok , injector is a must do job , I think it’s biggest expense you will have . I had 2011 e71 v8 , I changed injector 40000 miles . Now I have 2013 e71 m , I changed injectors 58000 miles .

What maintenance would you recommend doing at 100K+ miles? Ive been reading that you have to change fuel injectors & rod bearings.

Nathan, I own a 2013 X5M. When you pull the motor I highly recommend replacing the rear coolant passage plate by the rear main seal/transmission bell housing area. Extremely common problem once you hit 100,000miles. Mine is completely sorted mechanically and now it’s starting to leak from that plate on the block. There are actually 2 GENUINE BMW parts for that. An exact replacement and gasket for $55-70 and then they just now recently came out with a “revised” heavy duty billet aluminum one that’s 10 times the price. It’s $500-700. Just my 2 cents but it’s a very overlooked part that’s a nightmare to replace. I’m using the standard GENUINE BMW part for $55. It lasted 102,000 miles so I’m good with that. Love the channel and can’t wait for some of this new content and finishing up the e46. Can’t wait to see what wheels you chose!

Not much. Certain engines and designations have plastic parts so they WILL need to be replaced. If you want a bulletproof engine you need to build one from the ground up

I've got this same car, i don't think you really have driven one, its handling on nz country roads is nothing short of amazing, it has some kind of power to the wheel control that is just unreal, my brothers 2009 m3 is nice but nothing like the quality features and stability in the wet when cornering plus the twin turbos kicking in makes it feel quicker (after market exhaust) Its just really expensive to maintain and run but its worth it as a weekend beast

It's very tricky when it comes to rod bearings. I bought a 2010 X5M about a year ago. The car has 238000km at the moment and still running on factory rod bearings. To mention that the has been driven in Swiss the whole life and most likely it has never been abused :))). It's smoking oil a little bit so I suspect the PCV valves and oil separators needs to be changed. Already ordered the parts and I'm going to replace them soon together with the valve covers gaskets. That's going to be a good time to inspect what's under the valve covers.

The regular straight inline 6 X635i is reliable, but it’s from 2015 going up they are very expensive though.

You have the lift you should get that out the bottom really quick you have a engine tray pull motor transmission and transfer case in one shot put it on the table

Brother i had the same issue and it came out to be a vaccum leak one of the hoses running had a leak changed it problem solved

I have E71 and while is E70 essentially ,X drive is different. It was first Xdrive with torque vectoring and it is awesome.If you can afford extra 18 inch wheels with winter tires you good for the cold months.And in the end X6 looks beautiful even though when first showed up journalist made fun of its looks,see how “three prong shit box” aka Mercedes and “monkey spankers” aka Audi,Porsche copied.Cheeers.

Why do you say the E60 engine is more complex? I could understand as far as NA design characteristics go but this engine seems to be far more complex

I think Nathan explain the exact truth about the X6M but this is the first generation model, bmw second generation X6m has improved, they only get better with newer upgrade, and he’s so right about people neglecting maintenance on these vehicles, absolutely cannot ignore bmw maintenance, reliability is based on maintenance.

Lies in the title much 😂. The x6 M is a heavy unsporty pos car with a glass engine . Tyre wear & oil leaks . It should be avoided bh anyone that loves money . A bentley brooklands was cheaper @ the time in the end . That should say it all 😂
