I ride my Aspero on the road with ultegra wheels and 30 mm tires. I ride off road with DT Swiss wheels and 38 gravel kings. It’s a reasonable road bike, now awesome but fine and really shines on rough pave’. I took it out with the gravel sit up a week ago and had a ton of fun. It is really good in that setting. I have used it as a mtn bike and it surprised me with capability. It’s just a good bike.

“It’s just a good bike” sums it up really well. All rounders like this are never going to set the world alight, but they go way better than you’d expect while still being super useful. Bit like a family estate car with a spicy engine.

Did you say 52T up front in a double? I'm seeing a 52/36 or 50/34 with rx825di2 RD 11-36 and an Ultegra FD - All road for sure. Great Vid

Hi Guy, What would you say I'd the best endurance road bike under 3k? I want a comfortable and responsive frame and up to 32 mm with guards. I'm tired of wasting money on bikes that weigh a tonne and respond like a touring bike!

Hi Guy, how it compares with stigmata for rough gravel racing. Say both in rigid fork setups
@GuyKesTV4 ай бұрын
I’d say the Aspero is smoother if you’re after comfort, especially up front. In terms of confidence for bombing down loose and rough trails though the Stigmata is way ahead. Both are similar in terms of power transfer but Cervelo is lighter and more aero

@@GuyKesTV I was just thinking I wasn’t precise enough but your reply clarified it perfectly;) looking for a quick descender and successor of my diverge (excellent but taking max 47 tire)
@GuyKesTV4 ай бұрын
@@adamossowski7627 you want Stig then as it’ll take a 50. Aspero will just squeeze a 45 (officially a 42 but with 7mm clearance)

great vid, I agree on the value end for the Aspero. While I did look into this bike, I ended up ordering an ENVE Fray when I found one on sale. The downtube storage, full aero & looks were worth the extra $1500 I needed up paying. Its a bit more road than the Aspero, but I also have a Lauf Seigla for the knarly stuff making it rarely necessary to take out the MTB. 10 yrs ago, I would have scoffed at the idea that I'd spend most of my time and money in the gravel category, but here I am, loving the mixed mode rides more than most. And I think Gravel bikes still haven't settled into what it will end be being; I predict big & exciting changes in the next decade.

How easy will it be for the home mechanic to service the headset?
@GuyKesTV5 ай бұрын
It'll be a pain because you'll have to fit a pipe splitter junction for the brake hoses under the stem. It would be worse if the cables ran through the bars though or if it had cables.

Integrated cables/cockpits will put bike mechanic’s kids through college.

Just did a similar build. A pain to install - not technically hard but fiddly. Two person job I found. For servicing bearings you'd have to disconnect hose at the caliper and drop the fork out then reconnect, possibly with new olive, re-bleed.

Road bike for road and Cross Country bike for off road. Gravel bikes ride like crap off road and on the road IMO. Before the Trolls try ripping me a new one this is my opinion based on my experience riding one once. I didn't like it. If they are so great why is it the industry is adding suspension components to them now? And it doesn't change the geometry.

You're missing the whole point....for mixed surface riding gravel bikes simply blow road and MTB's out of the water.

Lol there is accomplished gravel racers who ride this with no sponsorship. You are dumb

That must be why everyone is buying them then 🤔

I aspire to be as specific with bikes as every situation I’d like to ride, but neither my budget nor space allow for that many.

Boy, my crew and I would be walking around a lot of that muddy mess, but you guys are charging right through it! Great review as well - thanks!

If we walked round every muddy mess in the UK this year, we'd be hikers not riders!

My goodness, what a beat up, your really put that bicycle trough the test. That is really well made, it's still rolling.

A Gravel race bike.....Cervelo build racing bikes, not exploring/adventure bikes.....that's why they don't fit mudguard mounts, etc Nice bike, but I prefer the Grizl.....
