Just ordered a used 7d Mark ii with only 7000 count on the shutter. It was a Black Friday special! A gift for my wife for Christmas.... early this year. God bless from South Africa.

I just bought a second hand one with only 16000 actuations in excellent condition. Got it for around half the price of a new 90D and frankly I think the 7D mkii is a superior tool.
@TheOpenImage2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Yes I always thought that the 7D M2 is far superior to the 90D 📷

@tomsawyer43212 жыл бұрын
@@unbroken1010 you ask says who? Well in this instance me and "The Open Image" say so but for what you need, which is likely different to my needs, the 90D may well be the superior tool. These things are subjective, have lovely day further

I love my 7d mkii . Mine is very beaten up after years of abuse in the fieild , but it still functions perfectly . I love it's high burst speed , and it's auto focus system . I find that ISO 6400 is the highest I can go without intrusive noise , and if light permits , I prefer not to go above 3400. I also like that the crop factor allows me to use physically smaller , less expensive lenses to get the job done. I was considering replacing mine with an R 7 for its improved auto focus system and hopefully improved high ISO performance . Sadly it seems to be a much less rugged design. I recently lost most my kit , my full frame body and the bulk of my lenses , to flooding . As a result I am no longer heavily invested in the Canon ecosystem so I might end up looking elsewhere.

You are spot on about the 7D M2. I'm sorry to hear about the flooding. Thank you for watching my video and leaving a comment. I appreciate it 😀

Just bought a Mark ll with 4900 clicks and it is like brand new. Came with a lens for $569 . Got a brand new Canon grip for $70 on EBay. Next I need 100X 400 glass!

I just heard you say the Nikon D500 was the best. I guess both cameras are awesome.
@TheOpenImage2 жыл бұрын
Camera-wise, both are awesome, hard to pick one over the other (7D2 has more user-selectable focus points, 65, and all cross-type points, compared to the 55 on the D500 out of which only 35 are cross-type). But Canon does not offer us an affordable 500mm lens for their DSLR cameras whereas Nikon offers two. That extra 100mm reach of the Nikon 200-500mm lens over the Canon 100-400mm lens makes a big difference for bird photography. Thanks for watching my videos and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it ☀️

How about this with an 300mm 2.8 prime?
@TheOpenImage2 жыл бұрын
That's an absolutely fabulous lens. Can get a bit heavy to carry around all day - the results however are spectacular!
@ManchmalGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@TheOpenImage Alright. It seems like these are overlooked. And looks like there's plenty of used ones for quite reasonable price. :)
@TheOpenImage2 жыл бұрын
Yes, 300 MM is often not long enough to click close-up photos of birds, but you can use the 300 2.8 with a 2X extender and still be able to use all 65 autofocus points on a Canon 7D M2. If you get the opportunity to click larger mammals at f/2.8 it'll be awesome! The 300 f/4 is much lighter and something you can walk around with all day 📷
@ManchmalGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@TheOpenImage Thanks for info! Yes, I can see it being a bit short for birds unless you get an extender. So you get some extra weight and lose the versatility of a zoom lens in favor for image quality and faster focus I guess? But since I also like to shoot portraits and occasionally events in low light I'm still leaning towards a prime. Plus I already have many lenses! :D

I live in Sweden so that's why I try to keep my lenses wide aperture. It's dark here! :*)
