Nice small crawler i think 👍🙂 looks cool on its off-road environment

It really is nice - it has the good looks of its predecessor but actually gets along very well, though this example does have softer, grippier tyres than those that came with the kit.

Nice! What a great place to drive it, too. The colours you've chosen work so well with the reddish rocks and dust. The mog looks great. Still seems to have a useful turn of speed as well 😎👍

Hello, Brent! Yes, it out-crawls my 6WD truck, and it's right up there with my Ninco Boulder and Stone crawler! The CR-12 is awesome - 'perhaps I should do a crawl-off between the Unimog and the CR-12 some time.

Yeah, that´s a fine little rock crawler! I can hear the soft tyres gripping on the rocks, nice! Looks a little funny with the rapid reverse compared to the smoth forward action, but it obviously works well! Total success! 👍👍
@Del350K42 жыл бұрын
I have fantasised about buying it a proper crawler ESC to get rid of the rapid reverse and the need to pull the trigger twice to go forwards, but it's quite a lot to spend unnecessarily...

Thank you - so many full-size 406s have aggressive tyres fitted that they do look reasonably scale - and they certainly make a huge difference to grip levels.

@@Pezzapoo The TBLE-04 isn't a very good crawler ESC. But everything else is great. I look forward to seeing your truck!

This is very impressive for a Tamiya and obviously down to those changes you made, especially the tyres. To me it's performing just like a typical Axial and they are pretty expensive. I did notice one of the advantages of weathering the shell too - it really doesn't matter if you roll or scrape it as any marks and scuffs just add to the weathering. No stress on that front. A cracking little vehicle in an epic location...🙂.
@Del350K42 жыл бұрын
Wow - I've never even driven an Axial, let alone owned one. I've seen one (behind glass) in an RC shop, but that's as close as I've ever got. Yes, a scruffy shell saves you worrying about tumbles and scrapes. When I had a full size Range Rover I just used to brush paint the scratches upon arrival at home from off roading each weekend.

just built a cc02 and stuck a 35 t in it . still quick because i got confused about the hearing options and ended up putting the fast one in i think 😂 anyway great run and video . looks fab mate 😊👍
@Del350K47 ай бұрын
Did you use the Tamiya ESC? I found it hard to input subtle throttle commands, which is another way of saying that each time I touched the throttle the thing tore off like an Alarms Senton!
@rc-dom-uk7 ай бұрын
@@Del350K4 i’ve used hpi crawler esc and 35t motor . it’s quick compared to a standard crawler but alot better at low speed than the tamiya stock set up . also it has a drag break but wondering whether the gears will benefit from it 🤔
@Del350K47 ай бұрын
@@rc-dom-uk Did you build it with both diffs locked? I thought it was a little odd that the instructions say you can only lock the rear, but they include the parts to lock both. I used an HPI crawler ESC, too. I don't understand why Tamiya supply such a wildly inappropriate ESC with this kit. And such dreadful tyres!
@rc-dom-uk7 ай бұрын
@@Del350K4 yeah locked diffs . the tires aren’t great tbh . i’m using tamiya tires which have great grips for trailing but not rock crawling. they have tamiya tire wall writing on which i’ve never seen so it was cosmetic over performance 😂
@Del350K47 ай бұрын
@@rc-dom-uk The wheels are good looking, too, in my view. I put different tyres on my stock CC-02 wheels, then ended up using the tyres on a WL Toys-based leaf-sprung trail truck which I built more to look pretty than to tackle serious terrain ("You Can Build Unique Hard Bodies", it was called).
