Been waiting to get this kit. Like for a LONG time. I have also been wanting my first Tamiya kit for even LONGER time. I fell in love with RC cars when I was about 8-9 (?) when I saw my first RC car in my neighborhood, which wasn't electric, but gas powered. It was a Dune VW Buggy ... it was awesome, and it's driver was awesome. He later came out with the "Monster Truck Lunch Box", from Tamiya, which was electric, and I was sold.... it's literally been 30 years, and now I have my first Tamiya kit, and it's a Unimog crawler, which is close enough to the "Lunch Box" I fell in love with to begin with. And I wanted to crawl/trail with the original to begin with anyways. The Unimog will be my "Trail/Hauler Queen" - tugging my Other crawler/Short Course/Rally/Buggy hauler! I can't wait to start it, and Get it running... and your owls in the background were a welcome sound.

Hello! I'm glad you like the patina. Just as actors on early film sets wore exaggerated makeup, I find I have to make the patina heavier than one might expect to get it to be noticeable on screen. You're the first person who has mentioned the axles! Yes, I always think it odd that people will weather a body very heavily, then out it on a rolling chassis that has bright-plated steering track rod and suspension links contrasting starkly with jet-black axles. I think this MN model can be made worth driving very cheaply and easily. On my MN45 I just installed a 180 motor, fitted WPL wheels to reduce the final drive ratio and moved the battery to the front. The off-road test video for that one does quite a good job of conveying how capable it became.

Hello, Guy! Thank you very much - I don't know how much I really need such a huge knife but I've been enjoying finding reasons to use it. I can report that it's a bit unwieldy for chopping carrots, and also that, upon being cut, each slice takes off across the room and ends up on the floor. Actually I was just thinking of you. A year or so ago I mentioned my desire to build another 124301-basedvproject. Accordingly, today I set up my little "workshop" set and recorded an intro. This ended with me airily announcing that I 'd be back after removing the body...and I can't work out how to get the damned thing off. I found a screw at the rear on each side, but there are more to come out and I can't find them. I've stopped trying for fear of snapping something in frustration. Hello, Guy! With regard to the accents, I couldn't think of another way to endow each character with a separate identity. I shied away from attempting Yorkshire or Irish, and my Welsh veers unpredictably and usually briefly towards Indian, so I was left with my own voice, a sort of Mockney for Dave, the scout who led Jock to the stranded half-track, and then Jock and Darius. Who knows where Darius hails from!

Great video Del, very entertaining. I must say that your excellency weathered trucks combined with the rugged terrain really make this short film very believable. Really enjoyed that.

I was lucky enough to spot an area that had been consumed by a wildfire, and which was now beginning to recover; perfect to represent the kind of badlands our mysterious queen might rule over : )

Hello, Pascal! Yes, I hope there will be a, sequel, too : ) I have several vehicles, but the difficulty is in the organisation necessary to have several drivers available on the same day.

What a treat! A "proper" Del350K4 RC-story video from the olden days! Jock's accent is priceless! Great to see those rigs out there and the 6x6 seemed to haul that "fuel" with consummate ease! It did look a tad faster on the way home though! I see you left the story open for part 2... 😁👊👌👍

I couldn't think of anotger way to do different voices, so I tried for a sort of cockney for Dave, the driver of the scout car who led Jock to the half-track, and goodness knows what accent I think I'm doing for Darius, the wasteland queen's slow-takkin' sidekick! I knew better than to attempt Yorkshire, Soberset or Irish, North or South.

@@Del350K4 Well i think you did a wonderful job, mate! The only accent I can manage is a very bad Black Country one!!!! Putting this all together with the driving, filming and acting is a big achievement, hat's off to you!

I'm 7 years old again watching a Gerry Anderson episode of "Adventures in the Mediterranean Outflow" - Season 3 Episode 2 "Fuel Crisis". Wonderful ❤❤

Ooh! I'm going to try and find that and watch it! Hello, Derek - how kind of you to liken my efforts to the work of Mr. Anderson! I just wanted to try my 6WD truck out with a lad on its back at first, but things snowballed. We've met these guys before, in a little short video tacked onto the end of my tracked Fordson van build vid. One day I fear that our nameless queen of the wilderness and her faithful warrior Darius are going to come face to face with the other lot. I'll need to ask some friends to help with the voices, though!

Hello, Brent! I wish I had been able to get some more voice actors involved, but I enjoyed putting the video together. Thanks for your comment : )
