Ok review. Gotta do a little homework before making these so you’re not guessing about equipment. The roof is in the hatch wrong. It actually sits further to the rear and locks down in place. The rear fender vents are functional but not for the cooling the brakes. One side cools the transaxle and the other cools the rearend. Taken right from the C7R race car. The gas cap locks electrically when the car is armed to prevent opening. I also don’t think that being more refined and easier to handle makes is an old man’s sports car.

As others mentioned definitely a 2LT. Clues are HUD, memory seats, front curb cameras, heated and vented seats, frameless rearview mirror, etc. At 8:36 - "not too many differences in exhaust..." There will be no difference with standard exhaust. Performance exhaust (option NPP) will provide a substantial difference. At 9:22 - "I wish it told me my 0-60..." Select the Performance menu (left arrow on right side of steering wheel), scroll down and there is a 0-60 timer which starts automatically upon acceleration. Not safe to do these acceleration pulls on a winding, narrow 30 MPH speed limit road. Find an open country road or take it to the track. By the way, I got my 2019 2LT, Torch Red (of course), 7 speed manual, just under a year ago (at age 61) and I absolutely love it--such a good looker and so much fun to drive.

Actually, this one is not a 1LT because it has the small flag emblems on the seats, and it has the HUD. It's either a 2LT or 3LT. Also on the regular stingrays, those rear fender vents are not functional, the functional ones are on the higher tiered models; Z51, Grand Sport, etc. Anyway, it's still a hell of a car, enjoy!

@@AmericanVsImports this isn’t completely true lol, if you have an auto car the driver side rear vent goes to a heat exchanger for the transmission, on the passenger side there’s nothing. Z51 cars have a heat exchanger for the rear diff. Only the 7 speed manual cars have both rear vents that do nothing. And yes I agree with the other guy this is a 3lt

It’s no Porsche but the C7 is definitely refined. I like it despite being in my 30s. I like not having weird noises. The cushioning that prevents noise from the plastic panels are a must for me. I couldn’t stand my previous economy cars because of those plastic panels rattling.

That engine is filthy! I've had my C7 2LT Z51 for several years, and love it ! Get the manual, as any sports car enthusiast should... I've had zero issues with my 2014 and get compliments every time I take it out.... although I am not and old man, but my kids may say different... Great car for a great price!

Are you sure that a 1LT. I got a 1LT it has no front camera, HUD, Memory seats and heated/vented seats. Traded in for a Zo6 2LZ (2LT for stingray) and it came with all those feature

No the rear side vent is to cool the transmission which is over the rear axle not to cool the rear brakes.

I think this is a great car review. It is extremely informative and it is extremely great! I would have never have known so much about the car unless I watched this video. The guy, Tim who is reviewing the car is extremely informative and I would now want to purchase this car. As he says, the car is not for him but it is for the people who would like a good fast and noticeable car. One time I was considering buying a nice car and now I know I would buy this car

I've noticed since owning a Corvette from my late 20s to 50s that the only people who call the Vett an old man's car is guys who wish they had one , but wife rules them. Or it's a young guy who can't afford one at the moment.

The rear brakes on standard and z51 cars are cooled on the bottom of the car. They have a vent that catches air and directs to the rear calipers. This is standard on all models except GS and Z06. Can’t say I’ve driven a challenger to compare but I’ve run several in my c7 z51 and I have no problem pulling away. My car has a cam, CAI, mid pipe and a tune though. I pull away from charger hellcats too. Def not an old man’s car lol.

I don't think this is "an old man's car". It could be that a lot of younger people perhaps having young families are not able to afford one. I had a 72 454 coupe when I was in college. Got married, bought a house, had kids and certainly couldn't have bought a Corvette. I'm retired now and have a C7 so Im one of those "old guys" driving a Corvette.

Well, I have a Challenger and a Vette. Better sound system in the Challenger. Quieter ride. Take 3 or 4 friends, or fold the seats down and put a ladder and tools in it. I loose religion every time I get in and out of the Vette. My 10 yo grandson says about the Vette, "Grandpa, that is a sweet car.." I'll never get rid of the Challenger. May trade the Vette for a Zo6 or a Hellcat.
