I think it all depends on where you work. Most college and professional sports settings already have strength and conditioning professionals. In this case, there's no need for a DPT to have a CSCS. If what you do is Physical Therapy and that's your specialty, you don't need a CSCS. Your education makes you qualified for what you do. However, If you're a DPT with your own private practice, and you want to strength train athletes too, a CSCS is necessary. If you work in a setting where it's preferred for the DPT to have a CSCS, because the budget doesn't allow for them to hire DPTs and CSCSs separately, the DPT will need to have a CSCS. I'm not an expert; this is just my opinion.

I'm a 2nd year student and will have a rotation at a sports clinic in the fall, I was debating whether to take it before or not. With my background I'm sure I can prepare for it in 4-6 weeks, am I understimating it?
