For my view distance in dayz;
Go to My Documents, open up DayZ, you will find a "DAYZPROFILE File" with your PC name on it, Open that, scroll down to these settings and change them to what i have below for maximum distance :)

IMO - What makes DayZ so special is the atmosphere. The lighting, the ambient sounds. The wash of relief as you finally see sunrise coming. The trees shaking in the wind. How wonderful and warm a fire feels and sounds on Namalsk. A gunshot from miles away.

I hate that game, it's so clunky and everyone just sprints around punching eachother or playing it like a fucking battle royale game. Arma 2 dayz epoch was the best, the combat still had some sense of realism and there wasn't a stupid amount of clunky systems

@@limpa756 Dude yes! Actually being able to build a base. Actually being able to go to harvest materials for building(not just wood like SA). Actually having a decent amount of cars that spawn on the map that you could repair. Actually having a working sneak system that you could sneak around Zeds with. Oh, and players that would actually interact when outside Military areas, whether they killed you or not at least there was some RP goin on. I miss that shit

I really hope we get survival games that have big cityscapes with skyscrapers that you can barricade a full hotel floor in, a megamall (Like in Zomboid but better graphics) not every map set in Skryvonia, Badronia or Rakezonia or some Eastern European village setting.

Based on what i see in this Video, i have some Suggestions. 1. The Environment looks to groomed, considering there are almost no Humans alive(Lore). Things like overturned trees, overgrown fences and so on are missing. Washed out roads. 2.Finding cars that still work is not the problem, dead batteries ok makes sense. However the fuel would be the key. How to get it. You would need to make it yourself. (Diesel) 3. If it would be possible to choose which traits a character has. Mechanic, Carpenter... That would give incentive's to playing together. Because not every character could do anything. Electrician

One thing I would like to see as a mod in DayZ or in this Reforger mod is variation in animal trophy appearances. To be able to choose a deer or boar, etc that has better antlers or tusks would add a great collectible tangent to the game for base builders or even just folks collecting screen shots

I remember the first time I played dayz I had headphones on, standing game in a woodland the wind picked up the trees started creaking leaves rustling.. it was very immersive. That’s what makes a good game, sounds, lighting, and all the other jazz. To make a better original game it should be very similar just fix the shit physics.

Wishlist. Hunting - fishing - farming. Caravan camps with added tents, campfires and storage trailers. Food prepping, aka drying, canning, preserving. Ammo, clothing, tools crafting. Just to name a few.

They need diving gear for when your shoot Helis down in the water plus they can have quest to ship wrecks or subs maybe even underwater cities like Atlantis. And they need a way to build your own bunker/storm shelter. With trenches for more base defenses. Also bring in the M-203 that can attach to m-16 M4 even the AK variant launcher.

Agreed with compass reading on DayZ Standalone. Why the devs didn't just pinch the compass reading from Arma 3 when you look through the glass at the numbers for an exact compass bearing. I use compass bearings from izurvive maps and DayZ compass is shit 🇦🇺

For military rifles if they were designed to accept bayonets. Would be a good feature especially if you have no ammo. Running down on someone with such a weapon combo and getting a kill faster than a knife fight with the blunt force of a bunt stroke with the rifle butt.

after playing 6k hours of days, 3k of them on vanilla i can honestly say that's the only reason why i don't play vanilla at all now. it's fine when you have a single door.. when you are forced to put up 10+ doors because raiding is so easy, dial code locks make you lose your mind.

I checked it out for a few evolution needs to go forward also the Reforger. Isn't that the engine of the new Arma 4 and DayZ current? Maybe make it more like WasteLand but with an Independent roaming AI, all Blue and Red have to look out for Green Green has the loot stashes and makes scary things like modded animals! I miss the DayZ Origins semi-story play. But hey it's Arma if you can imagine it you can most likely make it. But whatever the Reforger engine is on my old FX AMG it plays like butter.

I would like to see cars and helicopters with a actually key like days epoch, base building like days origins, 2 missions going on on the server, team group system, if you find a wheel and scrap metal you can craft a bicycle and if you find also a motor you can craft a motorbike. Is it ask for too much to have a proper Dayz 2 experience? I'm waiting for that at least 7 years
