You can skip the first room entirely, you clear the rats in the other rooms to unlock the gate but not the turrets, and in the final room you literally just orbit the structure at max range, shoot it while the rats try to catch you, and you bookmark something you can near the center, so once the structure explodes you warp out and come back 2min later with all the rats despawned and just the containers remaining for pickup.

As a new player these videos have been so great. Obviously I'm not playing the bootstrap style, but just learning the entire process from the ground up rather than market life gives a great idea how everything fits together.

The 2/10 + 3/10 escalations are good for a destroyer or well fit frigate. Just a reminder...for the "bootstrapers" check those hideaway and refuges for asteroids some have useful resources. Leave one and come back with a reinforced tank venture...finish the last rat and mine away. The reinforced tank may be needed when you start mining. Very often a pair of cruisers of the responsible faction will arrive and some hit like a sledgehammer. Some of the 2/10s even have Omber in the rooms.

Not sure this is still accurate - CCP changed the asteroid content of DEDs. The only one that appears to be really lucrative is the “lookout” DED unrated sites. They have 4x 5000 unit hemorphite asteroids in the first room with some Jaspet too if that’s your thing. This is an easy 20mill worth of isogen, just from the hemorphite (I can’t be bothered with the jaspet)

Saw your post in reddit and got addicted to your series! You made me start this challenge for myself too! As a over 200m SP pilot i found this challenge absouletly so much fun man. It is really nice to step down from end tier ship into very basics. It is quite a grind but having so much fun. Keep it up, this is quality content!

And to really speed run a Serpentis DED3 - bring a Stormbringer. There’s a video of someone running one somewhere on YT - it is 5 minutes of pyrotechnical delight as the crossfire takes out all the structures, which promptly explode. Incredibly wasteful but great fun.

Also can get reasonable tech2 salvage from the overseer cruiser wrecks - there’s another on in the security corridor room. Get lucky with power circuits, can be lucrative… and enable you to build T2 rigs potentially

Sounds like you're about to go on an ad-venture. Good info on the dead space modules. That's something I hadn't known before. I have a succubus build that needs a coreli C-type 1mn afterburner (or a shadow serp / fed navy 1mn ab) and now I'll have a better idea of where to look for them. Though, I'm not sure what spawns ded 1 sites.

The DED tiers drop slightly different low slot modules - so the A type multispectrum coating you get from a DED3 isn’t as good as the A type multispectrum energised membrane you get from a DED6 … but actually gives a better armor bonus than the B type multispectrum energised from the DED5. For shield tanked rats (Guristas and angels) the DED1-3 drop shield amplifiers and 4-6 drop hardeners. You don’t get multispectrums until DED4 as there are no multispectrum shield amplifiers. But otherwise spot on. Shame you didn’t get an A type AB, you would have had the blingiest catalyst (after all no point leaving on the shelf)

Good run! I usually fly these sites with zero tanking modules of any kind. Just a prop mod, sebo, targeting computer, targeting range rig so damps can't force me closer, and the rest of the fit are damage mods and rigs.

The loot info isn't entirely accurate. The armor coatings will only drop in 1-3/10s. In 4-6/10s, it will be energized membranes, and the active hardeners drop in 7-10/10 sites. What drops where is in the names - ending in -i (Coreli, Pithi etc.) is "frigate sized", -um (Corelum, Gistum etc.) is "cruiser sized", no ending or -us (Core, Pith, Gist, Centus, Corpus) is "battleship sized".

Aha! Somehow I had never noticed that the "universal" mods also had the "ship size" prefixes and I also never noticed if I was getting different "universal" mods in 6/10s compared to 3/10s. I'm sure you're right because this makes so much sense, but I'll investigate further and post an update in a future video.

To expand on this, this is kind of why the 6/10s are considered the best sites by some. The multispec a-types that drop from them are the best for every ship.

I think the Serpentis Narcotic Warehouses escalation chance has been considerably reduced since last I played EVE which is some years ago. They were heavily farmed after all. I don't grind the anomalies as it gets boring, but I do a handful every day and weeks can go by without me seeing an escalation. I'd say it's less than 5%, but I can't substantiate it. Some say they haven't seen one in months, but since it's RNG it's foolish to conclude from any one person. You'd need big numbers. However, you can also find them scanning signatures, so there's that. All in all I feel like it's not the steady source of income dwarfing everything else that it used to be, but that's a good thing even if the well ran somewhat dry. At least I think it did in highsec. The chances might be different in low. Who knows.

I think that too. I was farming Guristar Den for 5/10 DED. In week I was able hit from 3-5 now i'm luck that it's 2 per week.

Off topic comment but I figured a comment on your most recent video would get a better chance at a response. When you were reprocessing modules for minerals how did you know the best modules for reprocessing? I just need little bit of things like megacyte for making things and everyone is like, go mine it or buy it. I was wondering if there was a resource out there that showed module reprocessing for minerals.

So honestly, I just show info on everything and look at the industry tab. But there is indeed a trick for finding modules that have a ton of a specific mineral. You can go to everef.net and search up the mineral you're interested in and then click on "Show blueprints using this item." Now, the meta modules that NPCs drop don't actually have blueprints, but they generally reprocess about the same as a T1 module. So, scanning down that page, for example, shows that T1 Stasis Grapplers and Nosferatus take a lot of megacyte to build. And, lo and behold, meta grapplers and noses also disproportionately give megacyte when reprocessed.

I feel like the covert reconfiguration subsystem on T3 cruisers is too lenient. It should have more restrictions like: it should prevent you to have too much DPS or it should make you slow or frail or something. If we made a survey of all T3 cruiser fits, 93% of them run the covert reconfiguration subsystem. Being able to fit a cov ops cloak is just too good of an upside I feel like. Any thoughts on that?

I can't really agree. There's an important role for a heavy hitting combat ship with a covops cloak and right now T3Cs are the only ship that fill that role. I don't think they're overpowered. They're honestly in a pretty good balance spot right now (balance pass within the T3Cs would be welcome, but the class as a whole, relative to other ships, seems fine). The fact that they have the five second targeting delay after decloaking gives ample opportunity to escape (or preemptively attack) when one decloaks on you. You just have to be on your toes, which I was not this time.

fitting covert does prevent you from having too much dps and makes you slow and frail among other things. Try playing the game for awhile longer before you start suggesting changes.
