Is the Ebay GTX3582R really that bad? How will it do on the 7M?

I use to run nothing but garett turbos, but the economy is not the best right now, currently running the same turbo you have and it is working great so far, no issues and looks great.

I bought pretty much the same turbo for my 135i from Jackspania, same size too! Mine is a Gen II GtX3582R though. I bought a T51R cover separately as well. I paid almost $900 for everything. My wheel is forged billet & was machined on a 5 axis mill, that’s what the paperwork says. The turbo is balanced, I can see the grind marks where they take a little material off. I think the quality on mine is really good, I mean if we rebuilt these with Garett bearing cartridges & they were balanced perfectly, you’d never be able to tell the difference, as long as the casts of the housing are good & those are done in foundries. I don’t have mine on yet, I just bought it, but i took it apart & inspected it, I’m no expert, but it has dual ceramic ball bearings, a forged billet wheel, T51R mod that came out flawless & the turbine wheel is impeccable as well! Like you said, if it shits the bed I’ll buy something else. When it comes to Precision & Garret, you’re paying for the name in a lot of cases & I hear a lot bad stuff about Precision? Don’t get me wrong I know there are horrendous turbos out there, but I do think these are good quality. I bought a nice -10AN billet drain from precision machine & I bought 2 nice -6AN nickel banjo bolts for water cooling. My oil adapters were had two different sized pin holes, or orifices. I wonder why yours came with an open one, those are usually for journal bearing turbos? Well sorry for the book, I just figured I’d let you know I was in the same boat….✌🏻😄🏁

Dude thanks for the comment and feedback! I would have to agree with you as far as paying for the name and quality is not bad. I will be doing a t51 eventually with a vband turbine housing when I go to switch out my manifold. My gtx is definitely dual ball bearing, they just didn't include any of the fittings. I was pretty surprised when I got mine and I would definitely buy another one if needed. Thanks again for the comment and checking out the channel!

Is yours a Gen 2? Maybe that’s why, who knows lol? How’s it running? I’m watching your water line video now, I have the same banjo fittings, I’m gonna do mine with -6 AN line, my car is kind of show/street car. I have a lot of titanium hardware & I go overboard a lot lol. I’ll give you a follow & I’ll check in & see how the turbos running. I hope it lasts a long time & you get your money’s worth. @murk1352 oh yeah mine is the Gen 2. I've had it for a little while now. It's slow going right now. It's been so cold and my garage isn't heated so when it warms up a little I will tackle the remainder of the standalone stuff. It's sooooo close. I'm a little off on timing but once we set that it should be running. I will eventually convert everything to AN fittings. Super clean and easy to do. I will keep you posted and plan on doing a bunch more videos. I want to be up and racing in spring.

@@mainstreambuilds That’s awesome! I’m impressed with how you did the timing with the sensors & magnets, you made your own L brackets to set them up, that’s bad ass! I have a heated garage but oil is high! I only have about 3/8 of a tank, so I’m not going out there until spring as well 😂! I have it easier than you, I’m not converting from a mass air system. I put Precision Raceworks coils & a Phoenix Racing port injection plenum on my N54 powered 135 a few months ago. I got my turbo about a month ago & i just bought a raceart billet bracket for my Mac valve & a nice stainless Doc Race heat shield. Just doing a piece at a time, I’m disabled with a musculoskeletal condition so I go at my own pass. I’m gonna run 750cc injectors, a motiv reflex plus standalone injector controller & a stage 3 pump with 2 walbaro 450’s. I’ll still run my high press fuel pump & direct injectors. I’ll rum 600-610 on 93 octane & 700-735ish on E85. I subscribed to your channel so I’ll see how you make out. I might make a few videos when I’m doing my kit. Im going with the psr pulsar 3582 on 2jz running 2jzge bottom end with the ge vvti head 2jzgte ecu so hopefully my set up works

@chriswillingham8947 yeah I'm running the W58 but I had a shop replace everything with higher quilty parts. I haven't had any issues. My exedy clutch gave me more problems. I thought about going with an R154 but I'd have to sell both kidneys first.

@jackstoepfer1494 yes sir! Still running strong with no issues. I can do a small update on it. Id 100% buy another one! I did another video with a T51r housing on the same turbo and it sounds wild!

what to buy for oil and water lines

@carsonscottg I used oil resistant push lock hose for the water lines. I used -4an fittings and stainless braided hose for oil feed and -10AN push lock for oil return
