Is The EFLITE 80MM A Top Tier EDF Choice?

To be fair the eFlite F-16 does come with a gyro receiver and Smart ESC so that's where some of your cost is coming in. And the T-bird version has the 8ch gyro rx so you can set up flaperons. I love my eFlite F-16's. They fly awesome and are worth it for what you get. The gear alone is very scale. I also have the FW F-22 (6s version) and am very pleased with it. But I don't think you can use the FW kit as a standard to judge others against...especially if you're going to compare F-16's. You'd be better to compare the FW 90mm F-16 to the eFlite/FMS 80mm F-16.

All good points brother! I was unaware of the new rx in the V2 of the F-16. And the more I fly the 80mm F-16, the more I like it myself. I used the Raptor as it is my new favorite for the $. Also, I don't have the FW 90mm F-16 to compare the 80mm against. I do like that most of us already have the 6s 5000s for the F-16 as well. My only issue with the E-Flite F-16 80mm is the narrow stance on the main gear makes it very tippy when taxiing, Great Review and loved the custom Paint Scheme. RBM4E

Well kinda like the ME-109 German Fighter. When windy it tends to tip when taxiing too much, Major hand full and I find the F-16 about the same. @@redbeardreviewsrc

@tughillrc all F-16's have this issue with gear stance. You need to be going slow before making a turn or they will tip. Doesn't matter whose plane it is.

Agreed Same issue with the ME-109 in WWII Flying the F-16 was among the best fighters but on the ground pilots would be quick to say she was a handful. @@jeffbrundt7740

@@redbeardreviewsrc For sure! When I first maidened it, I felt like it was a little slow underpowered and sluggish. I’ve since grown more comfortable with it and adjusted my rates. It’s now fast and agile. To quote McDonalds, “I’m Lovin’ it”

@@redbeardreviewsrc It’s probably because the stock aileron and elevator linkages are on the innermost hole. I changed mine and lowered my expo. I also moved my battery back a bit. The front of the pack is in the middle of the first strap.
