It doesn't have to be a threat to anyones preferred game. It should be a welcomed addition to the very short list of looter shooters. I dont see why so many people think you can only play one and not enjoy the others. Even if you dont like the game, if it get popular enough it might push the devs of the one you do play to push out even more/better content. There is absolutely no reason to blindly hate on a new game just because your a die hard fan of a already existing franchise.

While I absolutely dislike Destiny2 (because movement, progression path, and the endless menu screens), I still play Warframe multiple hours a week (for 10 years). And you're right, competition will always benefit the consumer. Worst case: some game gets replaced with a better one. Best case: We get an new title and other ones get better. Win-Win for gamers 👍

And now there’s a new game that just released not long and they’re trying to talk it down cuz warframe had 12years to develop? Compare to a game that’s not even 3 months old yet.

No. Not everything is a competition. I've played TFD on every beta release, it feels more in line with destiny with how quests/missions go. neither destiny or warframe are in any 'danger' because of TFD

No it absolutely is competing with Warframe and Destiny. Just inherently by being available on the market, it is in competition. There are only so many gamers and they only have so much time to spend on games. A gamer spending time playing one game, means they are not spending time playing others. And it's even headed more into direct competition with Warframe and Destiny just by being in the same genre of "looter shooter." Looter shooter fans are always looking for the next big looter shooter. So yes, they are competing over a limited playerbase and their time. But it's a bit over dramatic to use the phrase "in danger," as it gives off the implication that competition will inevitably kill one game off. They can still compete and coexist with healthy player numbers.

Yeah, you must be coping man. First of all, Nexon is one of the worst, most predatory companies in terms of monetization only second to AAA studios like EA/Ubisoft/Blizzard/Riot, that's like the lowest bar you could set and arguably I am not even sure if Nexon passes it. Second, TFD is like warframe if you could only play as the drifter. And even then in duviri the drifter has a far more fleshed out melee system than TFD. Add to that the lack of parkour for the most part, the slow pace, and the lack of content/weapons/characters when compared to warframe, the only people leaving wf to play TFD are people who have literally done everything in WF and are waiting for the next patch. There is absolutely no reason to migrate to TFD aside from that.

I totally agree about the melee part - it should be a part of the game. And obviously warframe is much more mature in terms of content overall. I assume you must have not tried boss fights on hard mode if you're saying the its slow paced 🙃 there's no reason people cant play 2 games. Ive played ~3k hours of warframe over its lifespan, seen it before Plains of Eidolon or archwing was even a thing - it took hard work to get warframe where it is today, and I sure hope TFD goes the same way so we can have 2 great games 💁‍♂️

@@approximatelybored issue is, warframe was the first of its kind and had to evolve. There weren't many looter shooters. People were still testing stuff to see what worked and mobility has been a big thing.Please, don't tell me that TFD compares to warframe in any measure. The only thing I'd give it is maybe, and that's a big maybe, sound design. I hope it matures into a proper game but if it was in development for this long and feels this clunky in comparison I don't have my hopes up. I think the game with wifus that is a total ripoff of warframe will actually do better.

As someone whos played Nexon games i can atleast hope that this will be good . If i inow anything sbout Nexon games its that they have had good gameplay but are grindy (pretty sure any ammo is grindy tbh) The aggressive ness of the grind and loot is yet to be seen , but given history Maplestory got better eventually but still plenty of problems and fiascos i( have multiple lvl 220+ chars) Dragonest while nexon still had it was not bad and did well for the most part until eyedentity bought it iirc. Good gameplay and I don't remember monetization being as bad as other games ( i was max level) Vindictus i did not play nearly as much as the other two but I remember the combat being amazing, prettty sure all 3 had gacha mexhanics but for cosmetics and i think at 1 point for weapons but then they got removed or not allowed on certain servers . I look forward to this game i have grinded every closed test and open bets ingope communication stays as good as it is right noe and nexon doesnt dorty they hands too much. I am more worried about the content and how they plan to keep us engaged along with what kind of new weapons and maybe raids at somepoint with mechanics idk Edit:i cant spell lmao

This is funny af to read as well as having really good points. I don't mind the grind as long as it isnt Lineage 2 level of grind lol. They already removed 1 gacha (customization/skin colors) which existed for a hole of 2 days lol. Nexon seems to be still exploring EU and NA markets - thats why all the drama and missed shots with their titles, but overall they are looking at the right direction, but it's still a mystery if they can actually deliver. The F2P looter shooter scene is ripe for the taking with D2 starting to fall off and warframe becoming old. At least this will bring some competition and push other titles to do more.

@@approximatelybored i agree , the grind is yet to be seen live . I don't have a problem with MTX of they stay cosmetic , the skins are already looking extremely fire . I hope Nexon gives the director mostly creative freedom or let's him drive the game how he is currently. I'm just passionate for a good game that's all we gamers want , and so far community wise I've had only positive interactions and even met random people in game which many games haven't done , the aspect of seeing people on the world and randomly joining them is just a incentive as players wanting to help each other . I heard it's also been confirmed that there will be dungeons within the game which exited me .

They will have to redo the whole combat for me to even stop playing warframe. The movement alone in warframe is insane compared to any game others, then there is nexon. With my history with them I don't have high hopes, but this game will definitely compete with destiny 2 may even shut it down entirely

I don’t personally think it’s ever going to be a threat I think the game can coexist with warframe quite well tbh so long as the game continues to get improved. It’s just player trust nexon has to win over, i know I will take breaks from warframe since the game actively encourages it especially during times of slow updates but I can easily say I’ll probably never quit warframe and continue to support it because the devs care and my money goes back into developing the game, and regardless if a game is priced or not, games we enjoy deserve to be paid especially F2P titles. I just need nexon to do the same but that’s going to take a lot for me to feel the same way. Monetization scares me due to the recent development of customization which credit to them they reverted but it blows my mind they even thought of a system to unfairly monetize coloring your character. Train of thought being what else can they do if they could do that. So yea hoping the game goes well regardless. More games should be learning from warframe the good and bad of it. Thanks for the video, thought it was just going to be a meme video comparing “assets” but nice to hear opinions.

i think i might cause a riff with Warframe, but if the micro transactions are the exact same as it was in the last beta, i think it will lose a lot of fans faster because they push buying the "plat" currency to rush upgrades storage etc. There is also no way to grind items to sell to others for the in game currency either like WF, so that is a massive hit for grinding items to make money. It will be interesting to see, but i am still super hyped for this game, 2k hours in WF, and im excited to see a competitor going against them. but also, for people who love the grind, this is a very welcomed game for the community.

No trading in TFD is abig cause for concern about the longevity and players motivation to grind for stuff. Super hard to farm items that you need plenty of to progress may fly in Asian markets, but in EU the value is defined by much different standards like direct correlation to currency, time spent, buy-out options, enjoyment factor and so on... so it might be rough in the beginning. On a more positive note, color gacha from the last beta is gone, so is the "battle coin" (in-game currency to buy out battle-pass levels). From what I've seen - the only things left in the store are descendants and utility items (equivalent to warframes market items: cosmetics, forma, orokin reactors, warframes, resource bundles). Only time will tell, and in the mean time I'll spend my free time grinding Deep Archimedea and Netracells in warframe 🫠

Trading is needed for this game to keep the Longevity going. TFD is no threat to Warframe just because it's another looter shooter. It's got a long way to go to catch up with Warframe because of everything Warframe offers. If Nexon can do that and the game doesn't die off by then. Then a real conversation of " Is TFD a threat to Warframe" can happen. Until then TFD is just another looter shooter.

This video will age extremely poorly. This game doesn't have anything to use in competition with Warframe. Warframe has so much content it's ridiculous, and, no Predetory microtransactions or shady business practices. This game stands no chance and will stand no chance even 5 years down the line. The minute this game underperforms, nexon will probably abandon the game and maybe shut down the studio. I have not seen any passion behind this game not the way Digital Extremes employees and devs are passionate about warframe.

Who knows , but to say the developers aren't passionate about TFD is quite honestly insulting to them , if you watched the streamers and interviews you should see how happy they looked and excited to bring the game , and if you did watch the interviews and streams you are being willingly ignorant . Yes the game is being published and funded by Nexon , but Nexon games have always had good gameplay (, depends on your taste ) and comparing a games content that has been around for 12 years or how Everlong is also the most L way to do compare . Eh, there's been a whole slew of 'Destiny Killers' and 'Warframe Killers' over time. The First Descendant is new, it'll definitely be a competitor to both of these games, since all of the players interested in this, or bored with the other two, will try it out. Warframe has been low-but-steady popularity for ten years. Destiny is imploding due to needing to buy the DLC just to play any of the current content. While I think Destiny will die on its own, I don't believe Warframe is going anywhere. Numbers might dip, but... there's too much there for free to ignore. The only way to tell if First Descendant is a 'killer' of either game, though, is to see if it lasts. We don't want another Anthem-style disappointment.

Do.not compare a NEW game ready to lanch with warframe and Destiny alike that they are 10 years lifetime .. First of all devs answered multiple times because they know their reputation and said that everything can be acquired through gameplay....skins is logical to have something to sell because they must have income somehow also BP is paid and free tier... Secondly it has ENDGAME something that warframe has not...and no the weekly missions and daily steel path mission is not endgame... In the gameplay is more like Destiny than warframe due you depend on your weapons and you melee ability is a powered one like Destiny In the craft and build systems is copy paste Warframe alike The weapons crafted you can change their attributes this is from Destiny They took the best parts IMO of both games and they emerged with the TFD .. do not forget everyone that it will be launched with 16 VIB for endgame and it has the hard mode unlocked when finish the story mode which appears to be a long one about 30 hours maybe a little more.. When unlocked the hard mode rewards are better but you will need optimization on your builds to survive... Until the game lanches IMO we can not hate the game..we must try and then we can have a completely view of judgment..

God damn it's a lot to take in in the morning 😅 but I agree with most of what you say. I still didn't see nexon fully adjust to global market, for example with their item stat re-roll which is extremely expensive gamba that punishes good gear and lucky players. If you get an item with 3 good and 1 bad roll - it literally costs 10 times more to re-roll which is absolutely outrageous. Or the fact that it might take over a week to farm a single catalyst or activator. My point is the game still has extremely stretched grind and impossibly low rng effectively disabling any way to reliably target-farm meaningful things to "incentivize" swiping. Other than that and possible power scaling issues in the late game where any damage ability will be useless even with matching level reactors - the game is pretty fun (not grind for 2 weeks to see any power up fun). Will definitely live longer than SYNCED though 💁‍♂️

After seeing the monetization: Not a chance. Most players will prefer warframe solely because premium currency is actually tradable between players, meaning a free to play player isn't forced into buying plat whenever they want more warframe/weapon slots. TFD meanwhile has no trading of premium currency, and slots are more expensive as well. Players will enjoy it right up until they hit "the wall" and have to buy slots.

A very valid point. At the end of the day it is up to every individual how they choose to interact with the game greed or no greed. As long as the core gameplay is solid and monetization doesn't directly impact the experience in a negative or predatory way - a lot of players will be happy to play.

I don't know if it will be a threat, but I have seen some Warframe (and Destiny 2) players get pretty bent out of shape without even being provoked. Some have gone so far as to state that one game is better than the other "and that's a fact!" No, I'm sorry my delusional friend, that's an opinion. At any rate, I think some players already feel pretty threatened by this new game, but as many others in the comments have previously stated, there is no reason why it should be threat. People can play more than one game. Not me of course, you'll never catch me outside of TFD.

In a word, no. Warframe is just something to do. Aside from the quests it's just a LOT monotonous grind. Some people think the gameplay is incredible but ultimately everything is just a build check. There are several frames you may fall asleep playing because enemies just don't matter. But again, the amount of things to do is so massive people will keep playing it.
