If I am spending over a thousand dollars on a piece of technology in 2024, it better be usb-c. That’s the dealbreaker for me.

Hi mate. I have seen this statement for a lot of devices. May I ask the obsession with new slot (I prefer the new port but generally isn't an issue what port it uses)?
@mccalljeff4 ай бұрын
@@KMKM2002 I feel almost the same way. I just want to have to carry less cords. Having said that, I am a big cyclist and all my bike computers, lights, power meters, etc is micro usb, so it is not a dealbreaker. But USB-C is highly preferred.

My mevo+ has been a love hate relationship. Their customer service is very responsive but useless for me. I gave up after I mailed in my unit and they said it had no issues. My issues are all with the indoor mode hitting into a net. It reads fine into a net with a 7 iron or shorter, seems really accurate. As a scratch player, I know my strikes and distances. With longer clubs, it under reads the ball speed and thus smash factor and carry numbers. In outdoor mode and on the course for example my 2 iron carry is 240-245 it reads fine. In indoor mode The mevo plus reads my 2 iron in the 210-220 range. The issues start with about a 6 iron above 100 mph club speed, it progressively gets worse with longer clubs. I have tried the regular ball setting, regular balls with the sticker, and RCT ball setting. Oddly, RCT balls read even slower/shorter carry. And yes, I have it set up and calibrated correctly, no Interference, aligned properly, all that stuff. I even took videos for them toggling outdoor mode on the range and then indoor mode hitting long clubs and showing how crazy different the readings are with similar swings. So I gave up. Idk if I have a bad unit or it’s just not a good launch monitor for faster speeds, but indoor mode it feels very bad for me with longer clubs which is a shame to not be able to play sim golf courses. So basically mine is just used for short iron practice on days I can’t make it to my outdoor range, but it’s not performing as I would hope outside the short irons.

That's too bad that you are having issues with your Mevo+. I recently traded in my Xi+ for a Mevo+ for the club face/path data and it is working well with a 3 wood (ceiling is too low for a driver) and a ball speed of 158 (which is where I am at outside at this point in the season). How much distance do you have from tee to net? I am able to have 15 ft of flight in my basement. Although the weather setting can affect the carry distance, it shouldn't impact the ball speed. I'm setting up a net in the backyard for the driver. I'm hoping that it will accurately read in the 165mph - 170mph ball speed. I'll post it, if it doesn't. Hopefully, they will send you a replacement. If they think it's "fine" then they can sell it as an "open box" to someone else.

I have a similar issue with my driver into a net. My swing speed is around 100mph and the FS app averages out a carry/total of 215/240 whereas Trackman has me at 235/265. When I play on E6 the average is probably 7-10 yards shorter than the FS App which makes playing the courses a little longer. My other clubs are fine but then I am swinging those below 95mph. I just play the courses on the white rather than blue tees to equalise things.

Right now oddly it’s CHEAPER with the sale on the reg unit + all the packages than buying the “limited edition”.
@breakingeighty6 ай бұрын
Yeah thats often the case. The downside there is the simulator package isn't as good on the standard unit. No St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Bethpage Black etc. So the question is, is it worth a couple hundred bucks extra for those courses. Just depends on use case and what you're looking to use it for.

I'm in the market for launch monitor. I have gone through several different surveys to help pick out the one that might be best for me. For some reason the ones that always show up are the ones that you need a screen or laptop to view the data. The most important feature that I need is one to take to range or out into the field at home, hit a ball and look at the display for ball data. It's been so frustrating. I just wish I could find videos as how to set up different monitors to help make a better decision.

Totally get this, Jay. There's so many options out there and all have their pros and cons. I think the big question is what is your budget? As when it comes to devices with built in screens, there's pretty good separation between most of the models out there. Swing Caddie SC4 at around $500. Bushnell Launch Pro starting around $2k. Uneekor Eye Mini at around $4500. Those are the initial ones I'd consider depending on how much you want to spend.

The Mevo Plus does have a cell phone app for Apple and Android, but I don't think it's got the best reviews. You could look into what is bothering those consumers to see if they are a deal breaker for you or not. You'd think that Flightscope would have their engineering team putting some of those user issues into their backlog and trying to resolve them.

I’m sorry, but I struggle to understand how a launch monitor that sits behind you can see where the club face hits the ball…………..🤷♂️
@blairmcconachie6 ай бұрын
It sees the ball during the backswing then your club at impact, so it can overlay the two to get impact location. Both camera and radar are needed to get it. plus the calibration helps get it dialled in.

Would you say a "limited edition" which is clearly the same hardware (USB mini is the giveaway), is a pretty good indicator that the 2025 PGA show will see a new model (new hardware) likely to appear? I love a bit of speculation...

Hey Sean, love your videos, thank you so much for the education! I am considering the Sky Track plus for my garage simulator because space is a bit of an issue. However, I rethink my decision every time I watch a Flight Scope review. What I haven’t considered is connectivity, which you bring up in this review. I want to use my PC for the simulator and IPhone at the range. Can this be accomplished with both launch monitors? Thanks!!

Novice questions, sorry. How does it work getting a screen that one can hit the ball into. I'm assuming these are special screens, and require a data projector as well. All at an additional cost. Am I correct? And then how does the video feed get to the projector (does one need to plug one's laptop into the projector and then connect via an app)?
@breakingeighty5 ай бұрын
haha great questions! Yes, you'll want to look for an impact screen. PlayBetter.com is a great spot to start checking things out. And with the projector, generally speaking you'll connect it to a computer via HDMI. There are certainly some work arounds with this. Getting an Apple TV to connect to it and then using AirPlay for instance is one option - but generally just plugin via HDMI.

Hey do you know if purchasers of the regular mevo+ will have the option to purchase pebble beach and at Andrew’s on e6?
@breakingeighty6 ай бұрын
As far as I know there isn't an option to do that, but I'm going to send an email and see what I can find out. I do know you can buy the e6 Extended License which has like 90+ courses, many of which are REALLY good - but it's expensive at $600/year and doesn't include Pebble or St Andrews. I'll report back with what I find.

The premium level courses on E6 *are* available to purchase separately, but only the so-called premium ones. I contacted TruGolf customer service with this exact question. That list includes Pebble, Spyglass, Spanish Bay, and Oakmont, but not much else. For now. The Old Course and Bethpage Black, for example, are "expanded" content instead of "premium" and, as such, are not available a la carte.
