@@rogueprince0 Probably you're right. I believe the root causes of this date back to early ussr days. Unfortunately most of the former ussr states were formed with ethnical instability in mind. This was done so unified nationalist movements for independence were harder to form when there is not single ethnic unity.

During 1921 abkhazians and Georgians lived peacefully without any problems the forced Georgofication of the region is a blame of soviet government not Georgian. @@ok5183 this wasn't the work of the soviets but it was the georgian authoroties who did it under soviet rule. georgia was an independant SSR back then with a considerable amount of autonomy from the centralised soviet state. although stalin and beria played a huge role in genociding the abkhazian people and their culture, it was mostly the work of the georgian local authoroties. this massacer of culture and language continued on until the last few years of the soviet union. abkhazians were asking for an independant SSR inside the soviet union since the death of stalin. after paitiantly waiting for more than 40 years, in 1989 the abkhazians decided to rebel against the georgians and organise their own government

@@frenchfatfather9308 that is exactly what i am saying whoever were the "Georgian authorities" in Soviet union is irrelevant they were people placed there by kreml not by Georgians. i am repeating this Georgian people had no say in what happened to Abkhazia during the soviet union. neither did they had any say to what happened to Abkhazia during Russian empire. blaming these on Georgia is wrong however what happened during 1992 was a huge tragedy on both sides and i admit that Georgian militants did many terrible things so did Abkhaz, but that was a different time 90s in post soviet countries was a time of instability, total economical collapse and disregard of any human life this is what such a terrible system as soviet union creates. now everything is different, Georgia is trying to become a democratic country Abkhazia and Georgia has same goals. if abkhazia wants to get out of Russian sphere they should at least start negotiating with Georgia i don't see any other way.

You cannot go wrong with the cradle of Caucasian culture. With respect to other Caucasian languages , the only language with its own alphabet and uniqueness from any other language in the world, and not defiled by "Russianification", and thousands of years of incredible literature, songs and poetry... Learn Georgian, it's not even a competition.

You can't love Georgia if you love Abkhazia, what they don't say is that the population of abkhazia before separatism had more than twice more Georgian people than "apsuan". And "apsuan" people themselves are not from the ancient Abkhazia roots, they were forced to move to abkhazian land by russia, and then they started robbing Abkhazians, now those "apsuan" people, call themselves Abkhazians, and took over the actual history of Georgia . during 90s there was a MASSIVE ethnical cleansing thanks to russias help. Remember that abkhazia is forever georgia and that Russia is not the good guy.

big difference. 1. Abkhazians use the Cyrillic alphabet while Georgians use their own alphabet. 2.abkhazian is form the abzagi language group and Georgian is from the kartvelic language group.

@@ludmilasu7752 no similarity, it's like comparing Chinese and English. very common case in the Caucasus, languages or even language groups may differ from city to city. like Dagestani and Circassian for example, their bordering Russian republics but they come from totally different language groups.

Officially the number is smaller but in reality it is greater. The caucasus has many small national groups. Georgians are a bigger group and were favoured under stalin.. Who was a georgian.. Surprise surprise.. Abkhazian and georgian are unrelated languages from two different language families the abkhazian is related to adyghe language and cannot be understood by a georgian as they sre not related. It would be like comparing norwegian to Malaysian. Nothing can be understood from the other and the linguistic rules and language structure is totally different. The early greek colonies mention both the abaza and apsyn people (apsyn is the name the abkazians use.. Abaza are another circissian tribe just north of them) genetically abkhazians are intermixed with georgians, greeks and mediterranian people where as their north caucasus brothers are not so much.. You cannot tell a georgian apart from an abkhazian.. Maybe afew more blonde or fair haried abkhazians.. But a chechen or an a circassian from the north caucasus looks many times distinct.. Abkhazians are mixed with georgians and share alot of their personality.. Where as the "pure" north caucasus tribes are much harsher and more spartan culturally.. There would be no surviving georgian settlers in a north caucascan nation if they expelled them, they would beheadedraped sold as slaves ect.. I feel south caucasus people are more messy, more emotional, more compromising and also enjoy comfort more.. Abkhazians east food like the georgians.. The north caucasus tribes eat boiled meat with their hands like the mongols. No doubt the abkhazians culturalky would have no clash with georgians and see them as common friends but georgians lusted after their land and disrespected them and tried to wipe them out.. And for no good reason. Just greed and ego.. Not a religious or cultural clash.. Just stalins gift.. Georgians should clear their minds and think if they would like others to do this to them..
