Currently saving a bit to finally buy my first ever gibson les paul after 30 years of plucking away.. got my eyes set on a standard or traditional (used in ice tea birst hopefully)....i have seen these 2015 models pop up quite a bit cheaper than the other "better years" i did see a 2015 standard with a gorgous finish, and i got to thinking i could just put my own bone nut on it, replace the tuners to "normal" ones...probably change the truss rod cover to a blank one. oh and remove that silly les 100 squiggly logo that just kills the whole "this is a les paul" vibe to me lol. great vid man, im sure you will sell that blue studio pretty quick. new sub :)

Keep in mind that the 2015 models all had the wider fretboard. If it works for you then it’s perfect… but if you have more than one Gibson (eventually) it might be a bit off-putting. Cheers -Ryan

I will just ignore the 2015 ones then, im sure they are great guitars,and it sounds great in your hands dude. this is my first ever gibson les paul, after years of playing epis and other imitations ect. i owe it to myself at 44 to finally buy the guitar that made me start playing guitar due to gods like Jimmy Page,peter green , gary moore ect. all the best to you bud.👍

I got one in the same color in 2018 at GC for $600, and it came with that awesome gold case. Good guitar. And I like that the neck is just a little wider, but with regular string spacing. The robo tuner doesn't bother me, and if it fails, I have a set of Hipshot waiting to replace it. Thanks for the video!

I got a smoking deal on one new in 2015 as they weren't popular at all. Wine red, looked great. Played amazing- Gibson made a big deal these were all PLEKed. The Robo Tuners worked ok. I sold it after a year or so as I do prefer Fenders and just got one of these as it was a bargain. The nitro finish made it smell absolutely amazing though.

I remember GC clearing these things (and the SG’s?) out for cheap bc people hated the robo-tuners. Did Gibson even offer free normal tuners to buyers at some point, just to sell these? I recall something about that, but I was much more in to Fenders at that time. I played one at GC - thought it was fine. The cheap price gave me pause, but ultimately couldn’t seal the deal for me. I currently have a 2011 Studio.
