Simply put, no. They have a mediocre system on their laptops. Chrome OS is not a serious platform that you can do any non-document related work on so their laptops are easily irrelevant. Their tablets are some of the least powerful out there and offer barely any proper apps (because android simply does not have the catalogue that apple has on tablets and even if it did, the chip is subpar). On their phone, people are giving the pixel far too much praise for what I feel to be nothing. They’re promising 7 years of updates on a phone that is competing for power with, and losing on both CPU and GPU to, the iPhone 14 Pro from two generations ago. Apple don’t consider it to be good enough to run AI this year and google think a weaker device will be relevant 7 years from now ? Not to mention how it’s increased in price by 300 bucks over the past 3 years lol. An ecosystem comprising of a piss poor tablet, a joke of a computer, an overpriced and underpowered phone (whose only saving point is its looks I’ll give it that), with a decent watch + buds combo is definitely not worth getting into. The iPhone SE next year, an M2 MacBook air, and even the 10th gen iPad will give you far more functionality and operate as an actual, coherent ecosystem of products. Samsung, Apple, Huawei… they have ecosystems that are worth your time and money. Google? Bar their phone, watch and buds (the former of which you should only ever get on a heavy discount to avoid overpaying for nothing), they are not an ecosystem worth investing in. Fortunately for them they’re running android and Windows communicates with android well, so you can compensate for their persistently lacklustre showings on tablets and laptops with a Galaxy Tab S and a reasonably powerful windows laptop to communicate through Quickshare, Phone Link etc, over anything google themselves sell.
