People naturally get bored of eachother after being together for so long, it will not be different with the girl from the gym. Sometimes your own feelings can fool you aswel. Try to analyze your current situation and try to understand what exactly made things go stale. Don't take big decisions based on your emotions.

Here's the problem: relationships always get into a routine and even boring at any given moment. Going on an adventure while in a relationship is sad. Sad because that moment of wonder and excitement is just a phase. The best thing to do is try to take care of your own garden before adventuring to another. If things don't work, yeah, go your separate ways, but don't betray your partner just because you have fling.

What do y'all think... what if we are framing love as just a "feeling" rather than a choice? What if it's a feeling at first, but then after a while, it becomes a choice which turns back into a feeling? For example, I didn't love my father growing up. He made my childhood miserable and never showed me love. As an adult I've chosen to love him despite him never realizing or really apologizing for his behavior. This EFFORT to love him has made me love him and is helping me see him for the man he really is deep down, and it's healing to both him and me. Can't this be applied in relationships?
@PussInBoot4142 жыл бұрын
I think that’s a really good point you make and ideally it’s what we would all do but I think especially these days we are all in some way or another too addicted to good feelings and that ‘spark’. We want things quick and intense and once that dies down we’ve kind of been told that it’s over. I know from experience that this is something I tried to work with my my ex just couldn’t do it. It’s unfortunate but I have to take it as a lesson.
@austinnguyen91072 жыл бұрын
6:50 I wish Corey included this as well, but I think you should communicate your needs and see if things improve, before ending things. Just walking away without saying anything is not the loving thing to do. Now, since you don't even know what those needs are, I think you should check out the Tony Robbin's 6 basic human needs, and also the 5 Love languages. Attachment style therapy (check out Thais Gibson's channel) should help you understand your childhood trauma (dysfunctional family, not enough strokes as a kid, poor communication, etc), where your insecurities come from and how to overcome them. It'll help with understanding your specific needs too. With regards to "Grass is greener...", if you don't figure out what this wasn't working and just rely on "it doesn't feel right", it's guaranteed the cycle will repeat in your next relationship.
@kzrockbottom65632 жыл бұрын
I agree, this person saying that its been 2 years of relationship and he is starting to get feelings for a new person in the gym. I mean he should maybe give a thought about improving the current relationship and how to get the spark back... go for good communication or some new ways to enjoy with the current partner. Otherwise he will face the same outcome in his next relationship and that is not a good integrity.

Every relationship goes through certain phases, and sooner or later, as the honeymoon fades, things will become a bit stale. But what people nowadays don't understand is that it is normal, it doesn't mean that they aren't the right person, that the relationship is doomed. Attraction comes and goes, what matters are the friendship and companionship, the parnership, the trust and the respect. As long as those are strong and present, the relationship has enough value to be preserved. Then the time of burning passion and romance will return. Don't throw away something meaningful because of boredom and some shiny object that caught your eye.

I think he’s lost the spark with his current girlfriend and was likely in a lower point when they got together. Now his confidence is different and is seeing things differently. Usually when you are in a ltr and you get really excited over someone else, it means it is time to go. Honestly though, just because someone looks at you, doesn’t mean it’s your person either. Swedish people are quite and less verbal before actually officially connecting/meeting. So, it’s not unusual that Swedes would stare, but when they do, it is a message. But idk, I think he needs to just breakup with her because he has strong doubts.
@taramullock16762 жыл бұрын
The “spark” always fades. That’s the honeymoon phase. I doubt he ever loved his girlfriend. You don’t just trade in the current one for someone new on a whim if your actually committed and if you love them. So he should go with the new chick, because sooner or later, it’s inevitable that he leaves his current partner. He’s probably wasting her time.

Hey guys/coach, my ex and I broke up about a little over a year ago now. We were together for 8 years. I did everything Coach says. Told her what I wanted, told her to reach out if she was interested, vicious no contact, etc. The first 2 times she reached out (maybe 1-2 months out of the relationship), I asked her on a date which she rejected. I stopped asking her but every couple of months she will find a reason to email me (typically things to do with old bills, business we used to have, etc.). I'm perfectly happy not having her lol. But I can't deny the years and memories we made together. Should I make a final move or keep strong and wait for her to make it? Even if it never happens. I don't even know if she's in a relationship. I've never once slipped up since the breakup, there is no neediness coming from me. I'm just confused on what to do.

My girlfriend is religious and conservative (but not ultra conservative) and it can really pay off to be patient if you want that. She was 24 and a virgin but because I just took her out on fun dates and didn't try locking her down, she started trying to lock me down. I think around our 5th or 6th date she told me she was ready and let me pop her cherry. Been dating for over 3 months and she's the easiest girlfriend I've ever dated.
