You’re spot on man. I own a 2015 gsx s750 and agree, if you’ve ridden quads or dirt bikes before, then it’s a great first bike. When it’s ridden under 9k rpm, it’s a beginner bike - once you’re above 9k, this bike gets wild. Fun af, but it’ll surprise you. Full face helmet all day. Great vid bro

Having dirt bike experience is exceptional for riding street bike.....far more technical, ground is un even and traction limited.......street bikes do have more power and the position your body is in on the bike is kinda weird. getting used to cars, traffic is biggest hurdle.....riding the bike is the easy part.....shifting, clutch, brakes are all normal First time I've ever heard the term countersteer....we just turned the bike as it was obvious how to do that ......more of a body lean than pushing the bars imo, but whatever works....

I went 110 pitbike, then learned on a KX450 that same day, then bought a KLX300 that week, then rode that for a month, then went and took my classes and passed the license, then bought a Suzuki SV650, and feeling great !!! The SV650 alone has enough umph to get you in trouble but, I never have been... Currently looking to upgrade. Which is why I'm here, thinking about your bike lol.

I started on a Grom 2 years ago, then bought a Gsx-s750 the only problem I had with the transition was throttle control. On the Grom I was full throttle almost always, this bike obviously that isn't the case. Learned it quick never had a real oh shit moment, it's been a blast.

What about this as a first bike AFTER the msf course? Since I’ll be learning the clutch and how to ride a heavier bike on some old beater, would you think it’s alright to hop on this after that? I’m also a bigger guy (6’5 260) so smaller bikes aren’t really in the realm of possibility for me

"Beginner" is not a catch all term--- do we mean zero two wheel experience beyond taking the MSF course? Hell, an SV650 even is too much for that. Years of dirt experience? SV650 probably the best choice. GSXS750 tho? I took some years off from riding and used to have a GSXR750 and upon returning 18 months ago I got a cool SV650 just to get back into it and blaze thru some of the CA canyons and get back up to speed--- just recently bought the GSXS750 as I felt it's a logical quick do it all motorcycle and it's way too much bike for a novice. Perfect for a solid intermediate rider but a novice--- think about it guys--- this bike is the detuned naked version of a legendary racing machine and it gets up to triple digit speeds effortlessly. Great bike tho, extremely underrated. If you're looking for an upgrade or a general all around sporty bike give it a look. Suzuki really nailed it on this one--- just a good handling, quick, ultra reliable, good looking bike that'll do everything any street rider needs-- plus the clutch and brakes are awesome, they feel as premium as some KTMs I rode-- doesn't feel like a budget bike at all and that's reflected in Suzuki saving r&d money in using a tried and tested beast of an engine. Haters are clueless.

I have absolutely no two wheel experience other than bicycles...so I guess this answers my question lol with that said, I have no idea where to start 😞....there's so many options and I've been told it doesn't matter what you start on as long as you exercise alot of self control (which was the plan in the first place) I do have a the basic understanding of what the controls do from watching video but I still haven't taken the MSF course yet. I just don't know where to go after I get that out of the way. I want something I can grow into and learn on at the same time. Any help?

@@terrylafauci791 Yeah first do the MSF and get your m1 lol then if you're responsible a Kawa Z650 or something similar is something you won't get bored of fast unless you attain some good skills because they're not slow bikes and they handle great and the power is very predictable. So there's two extremes always with motorcycles on the power perspective--- you've got your "650 wayyyy too powerful for a beginner" which isn't true depending on who the person is and then the "as long as your responsible you could even start on an S1000RR" which also is silly because that's going to hinder your skill development just trying to not get killed on that bike lol. I'd just say the Z650 Kawi, it's mild in the first 2 gears and the power is as linear as it gets and they can be found used cheap. You won't be trading up in 3 months either like with a 300. If you don't feel naturally comfortable with a bike tho maybe a Ninja 400 or CB500F. But at the end the day too they aren't that much slower than a Z650 so an irresponsible person is going to wreck themselves on any of these machines. The SV650 is a bit of a wheelie machine and torque comes on fast(and the mt07 for that matter) so that's why I would say not the SV unless you've got some kind of motorcycle exp.
@EqualitynotEquity.
@EqualitynotEquity. Жыл бұрын
The answer is, "Yes." It's a bit heavier of a bike, but doesn't have much low end power. Starting on those 400 cc machines is a waste of money. The mechanics of riding a motorcycle are mostly the same on modern bikes. I went from never riding, taking the msf, to buying a 750 the next week. It's surprisingly not difficult to learn.
@itskdawgyt
@itskdawgyt Жыл бұрын
well, some people grasp the mechanics right away others need more time. i wouldn’t say it’s a waste of money it’s just i wouldn’t recommend one of these to someone who’s never rode before but if you’re confident on it and capable of doing it that’s all that matters. ride safe my friend.
@dmessy91
@dmessy91 Жыл бұрын
I did the same thing, I think the only drawback in starting on this bike is that it is over 100hp and if you've never rode before , it can be a bit intimidating at first which can slow down your learning progress, but I rather be slow rather than hurt or dead
@Mikaeel84
@Mikaeel84 11 ай бұрын
I bought a kawi z400 first and I don't regret it. Then again I'm one of those people who can't resist pushing a machine to its limits soon after I get it and if I would have had a much faster/heavier bike of rip I probably would have got myself in trouble.

What really makes a beginner bike? Any bike that you ride for the first time is a beginner bike. It all depends on ones size, inherent balance skills, previous riding knowledge with turning and leaning effect and controls at your hands and feet. If you start slow and build your confidence, you can begin your riding on almost anything.

@@Nutmilk157 OK I got my GSX-S750 last July(2022) I have about 3700 miles on it.. it's NOT boring. but it does NOT have the power everyone say it does. it is fairly quick and kind of fast. I had mine up to 124mph(wide open) and then took the secondary butterflies out and I've had it up to 127mph(not wide open). the bike handles GREAT in town or on open curvy roads( I ride in the mountains). I also have a GSX-S1000 GT Plus.(just got it in Feb.2023). that bike has the BALLS the 750 should have. Suzuki cut the power of BOTH bikes way down. the 750 has about 114HP and suzuki cut the power back to 9K rpms in 4th, 5th, and 6th gears. if you want fast the 750 is OK. if you want super fast look elsewhere. it'll run, but you ain't outrunning anyone on it.
