Plus I think it would be more poetic, forgotten characters have a chance to come back if there's enough fanfare but when a show is over. Everything disappears and theres almost no way to bring it to its original self even if there's some type of continuation. This show now has a different relationship with the person watching

Gumball is not only one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows, but one of my favorite shows of all time. This show helped shape me into the man I am today, and it hurts every single day to know the movie, the ending gumball deserves, is most likely not going to happen. This series deserves so much more then to be scraped from a merger. Maybe they rewrote the movie to be the next season, maybe they just acted like nothing happened, or maybe they both I don't know. But I know this, I will always hold this series close to my heart for opening my mind to new ideas with it's lovable characters, creative animation, incredibly clever writing, and the amount of passion everyone who is a worker on it to a fan puts into making this series what it is today. Thank you Ben, for everything you have given me and so many other people, you truly made something special.

I don't know how it was in other countries, but in Poland Gumball was airing (almost) 24/7 throughout the whole December and together with my fiance we couldn't be happier. I don't know why but even with knowing all episodes by heart we still enjoy watching the show. It's just brilliant. At this point I think I'll just get a tattoo of Richard on painkillers to remember it forever 🥹😭

I actually just got into TAWOG last month-my mom introduced it to me, because believe it or not, she watches cartoons more than me! I watched The Inquisition yesterday, and I gotta say, that ending had me through the roof with excitement. I’m really *really* looking forward to season 7, but tbh, I really don’t care what happens to the show next, as long as it’s not over and it keeps the plot that it ended on. (A new season would be nice, though, because I prefer shows over movies.)

I’ve discussed this before, but Netflix releasing the movie is a real trial by fire, considering lots of Cartoon Network shows were once streamed on the platform and removed before HBO Max came into play - Symbiotic Titan and Infinity Train just a name two. Gumball’s undeniable popularity may not be seen by Netflix as a good enough reason to showcase it. Plus, their treatment on the animation industry has been incredibly poor lately, so this only advocates Hulu more for being one of the more notable AND APPROPRIATE platforms to air the movie. They have a good relationship with Cartoon Network, as far as I’ve seen, airing multiple productions from them. Gumball is not only one of Cartoon Network’s best shows, it’s one of my favorites of all time, and it deserved a movie for a while.

What I want from the Gumball Movie: 1. If Rob doesn’t return, I want the new villain to be in the style of Plankton from the SpongeBob movie: entertaining yet evil and sinister 2. They don’t kill off anybody other than Rob. Every character is just too good to be thrown away. 3. They better NOT try to drastically change anything. No CGI changes, no new actors, no modern references, nothing to appeal to modern audiences. 4. No fart jokes. I like those jokes, but as we all know the media is too sensitive. 5. A song for the end credits. And I just can’t think of anyone else to write it rather than Coldplay.

Gumball is one of those shows that can actually appeal to anyone. I used to love teens titans go until I turned like 10 and the constant “haha funny butt and fart” and “haha everyone loves making fun of robin” jokes just weren’t landing for me anymore but tawog just stuck to me like glue. Even when I’m watching it and my parents occasionally walk in the room, I hear a couple laughs from them from humor that appeals to not just toddlers but everyone else as well. And I’m still amazed that they made a teen titans go movie (which wasn’t bad imo) and they are still making new episodes of it today. I get that the majority of cartoon networks viewers are people under the age of like 10 or 11, but I feel like tawog is something that even the people who grew up watching Cartoon Network shows and tawog itself but are now older can still enjoy.

This is why I’m for theatrical film releases over streaming ones with adaptations like this. You wouldn’t have to worry about potentially being passed around by streaming services, you’d have larger exposure in the marketing for a theatrical film, bigger budget, I just feel like the movie would’ve generally been in a better state if they approved a big screen debut for gumball instead but fuck it I guess.

Hulu is very unlikely especially with them removing a bunch of both Cartoon Network shows and Warner Bros shows as well. So the only hope for the movie is Roku, Amazon, and Cartoon Network the channel itself. Let me say this that little blue Humanoid cat is was a big chunk of my childhood and when that last episode aired honestly I knew The show had a good run and all I wanted was a great ending to put the show off if they make the movie and end it das cool if they make a new series das great but ending it without any of those 2 would be very very painful to live down
