It's a good theory. There wouldn't be many other designers working for supers - not when it's illegal. It's not the kind of thing you could do yourself, either - because the costume needs to be so specialised. It's essentially armour. If a cape is a known hazard, there's really only two options. Either he went to an inferior designer because he had so few options... Or he had to go to Edna. Who gave him a cape knowing how dangerous it was.

17:19 She didn’t switch sides out of nowhere! There was a huge precedent for her to do that. 1: She witnessed Syndrome attempt to murder a whole family with children (having a noticeably negative emotional back-pedal the moment she heard Helen cry “THERE ARE KIDS ON BOARD!”, on the radio, while Syndrome remained apathetic and too hyper fixated on hurting Mr. Incredible) 2: Syndrome had basically let her die when Mr. Incredible grabbed her, despite him being fully capable of saving her. 3: Prior to this scene she voiced her frustrations about Syndrome to Syndrome, arguing, “next time gamble with your own life” (if I can remember that correctly), and forcing her work folders into his arm, which I read as her resignation. @kalpea_varis6 ай бұрын
Edit: Mirage doesnt suddenly switch sides. She grew more and more sympathetic towards Bob when seeing how much the “death” of his family affected him and how Syndrome was willing to get her killed by Bob. Even if he knew that he wouldnt kill Mirage, it is still f’ed up to take this risk. And the robot didnt just became sentient out of nowhere, Mirage specified that the Omnidroid is a learning robot - its an AI. It learns how to fight people and thats why it is so dangerous. In the scene where Syndrome “punches” its leg off, the Omnidroid is seen scanning its missing leg and finding the source of this - connecting the dots via its learning AI to Syndromes remote. If you slow the part down where it scans, you can even read on its screen what it figured out in order to come to the conclusion. I absolutely loved the movie when I was a kid. I watched it on the regular and even had a casette tape with a narrated version which I annoyed my parents with. To this day, its one of my alltime favourites. And as a child I never quite got the subtle tones - the older I got, the more I realized. The suicide attempt, Helen thinking Bob is cheating, how having a dreadful job and not being able to engage with your passion can destroy a person, depression, PTSD, mass murder, weapons and gruesome deaths semi-visible on screen (e.g the ending). I wish we had more dark movies nowadays - and not just edgy dark movies, movies with heart and story. Like The Incredibles.

It seems like the primary upgrade made to the Omnidroid was focused more on the attack measures and maneuverability rather than the armor. It did seem more capable of attacking several targets at once, and was strong enough to shatter Vi's force field just by dropping its weight on it. It also changes direction pretty quickly for its size when it rolls around compared to the Nomanisan Island version.

This actually makes sense thinking about This one was made to put on a show and ultimately be defeated, so it makes sense to have it be stronger and faster but weaker defensively

The upgrade is larger, heavier (both in armor and total weight), stronger (previously needed multiple arms to hold Mr. Incredible, while the new form only needs one, and can manhandile him with ease),and worst of all, smarter. And it loses the easy access port on the bottom that allowed Mr. Incredible to crawl inside. As for "defeating it the same way each time"... Yeah, it took more effort, a lot more, the second time around.
@group555_4 ай бұрын
Yeah the weakness wasn't it being able to damage itself. That just makes sense since it'd be a weird update to make the claws weaker. The issue was first, mr incredible being able to get inside due to the bot having a blindspot. And the oversight in the software that made it destroy itself. It caring more about self preservation might even be the reason it turned on syndrome. It saw himself get damaged and immediately identified the source to stop it. If the one mr incredible fights first had this software it wouldn't continue stabbing itself.

A crazy theory is that the first Omnidroid that Mr. Incredible faced was actually meant for Frozone. The part where the Omnidroid took the battle to the lava area would have weakened Frozone's power since he's weak around fire or heat. Frozone was actually supposed to be "recruited" to battle the Omnidroid, not Mr. Incredible. Hence why the lady was scoping them out during their Wednesday night out. She initially was targeting for Frozone, but immediately switched to Mr. Incredible, probably after seeing his power feats of strength.

I love The Incredibles movies. The first is a Mary Poppins of a movie. As in “practically perfect in every way”. The sequel while not as good as the original was still really good in my opinion.

I am a little sad you don't specifically mention how Helen just straight up tells her children "These guys will kill you" like dang, even for a kids film mentioning murder as well as showing skeletons of dead people is pretty brutal. otherwise nice video.

19:10 The improvement was that it is freaking huge. Not only that, it has a laser gun (which definitely doesn’t show signs of being added last minute), detachable limbs, rocket limbs and thicker shell. I have a theory that maybe the change to having more than one battery couldn’t of been done because they were working within a tight budget. Reason being, earlier blueprints of the Omnidroid showed that that model was always meant to shoot powerful lasers specifically out of its eye piece but this is never seen. Also Mirage mentions to Mr. Incredible to keep the machine fairly intact for damage can be costly, after which he has the machine turn itself into Swiss cheese and fall into lava; it’s safe to say that the Omnidroid and all its components were completely destroyed and impossible to salvage in any way. This all clearly would of damaged their budget and may of prevented them from affording multiple other batteries to prevent a relatively small amount of damage from completely de-powering the machine.

And this movie was gonna be even darker, the jet that Helen took is from her pilot friend; however, his friend was gonna be the one flying it and when the plane blew up, Helen could only save her children but not her pilot friend. There's even a scene where Helen is swimming and looks down at the pieces of the plane while it sinks at the bottom of the ocean, that was gonna be her looking at the cockpit where her friend's corpse was supposed to be (like you wouldn't explicitly see the corpse, just the cockpit, but it would've been heavily implied that his corpse was inside).

The critical flaw that the Omnidroid had fixed from when Mr. Incredible fought it is a sense of self preservation (so that it doesn't just voluntarily attack itself) Which is why the second defeat was only possible because of the remote, as it wasn't going to just attack itself (and is also probably why it turned on Syndrome, to defend itself against the biggest threat at the moment, that remote).

A couple behind the scenes things I believe: Enda Mode has something to do with the supers origins and is a quasi villain. Syndrome was a super and didn't realize it. Mirage was either Al or a manifestation of syndromes psyche (syndrome is a super) Mr. Incredible isn't Violets biological father.
@poweroffriendship2.05 ай бұрын
I remembered that one of the early concepts where Bob isn't a biological father of Violet, but rather she belonged to Helen's ex-boyfriend, who was supposed be the main villain of the movie before Syndrome. His name is Xerek.

Honestly being so dark is a large part of what made it so good; they weren’t afraid to get *real*! And as some of the comments point out, it gives you a greater appreciation when looking back at it as an adult and understanding all the things that might’ve gone over your head as a kid

I love this movie so much! The blooper reel was so good, I wish animated movies still did that. There was also a bonus feature about the babysitter having a really awful time watching Jack Jack because he keeps activating his powers and going through walls and stuff like a ghost and she doesn't know what the hell is going on.

18:36 Robot does not become "fully sentient out of nowhere". It's just trying to achieve objective. Which is destroying the city. It had super advanced AI from begining, which was trained over and over in strategic thinking and defeating heroes. It just put 2 and 2 together. Realized that Syndrome somehow managed to disconnect it's limb with his remote. This stands in a way of his objective, so logically this remote needs to be eliminated. There is no sentience in that bot. Just pure logic and adaptive strategy.

What's particularly dark about the suicide scene is that the guy won the lawsuit over "not wanting to be saved". Like, would he have sued and won against a non-super trying to stop him? If yes then it must be really difficult being an emergency responder or operator of a suicide hotline because you could get sued for doing your job. If no, then it is pretty clear bias against supers. Either way, it's fucked up.

1 thing I loved about the incredibles is how the first robot was meant for Frozone but instead plans got changed because Mr incredible, a higher priority target showed up. Bob saved his best friend without even knowing it. We can also tell this because when Bob looks up Frozone on the PC it does him that they knew where Frozone was located.

The Robots weakness actually makes sense. When the Super defeats the robot, Syndrome makes an updated version, no Super Ever beats the updated robot the second time round. Thus when Syndrome believes that Mr Incredible is dead, the robot’s weakness doesn’t need addressing as its already beaten, in his eyes, the best and strongest Super. Also Syndrome might be a genius but his arrogance and lack of planning to well let’s him down. Since he has no contingency plans in case he looses his remote

Great flow. Also, as a video editor myself, I can tell that a lot of time and effort is put into making these videos look visually pleasing and follow along well with the voice overs. You do a great job of making the videos personable, yet still focusing on the content itself. I hope you continue to make videos for awhile, and I’m happy to be here to support however I can :)
