this car was way ahead of its time and the engine in the 45 is shared with Q45, but the car it based on the Nissan Z car and the Infiniti G, same wheel base in length and then ofcourse FX35 would share the VQ engine with the 350Z.

I picked up a 2008 FX45 about 6 weeks ago. Its been great...went on 2200 mile round trip Florida to Delaware and back along the Blue Ridge Parkway for a bit and then back home. I have no issues and love its relatively unique appearance...only ting that looks dated is the 90's cell phone looking antenna...I can live with that. I like to hike bike and kayak and my 12yr old SUV gets me to the trail-head in style and comfort....even has navigation.

I bought a 2004 FX35 in 2018, but wanted the V8, so last year I drove 980 miles to trade my V6 for the V8. I have a 2007 FX45 in sapphire blue metallic. It was in pretty rough shape when I bought it, but even in rough shape with 106k miles, it still became my favorite car 😂. I’m at 129k right now and love driving it. I currently daily drive one of these. I can confidently say I agree with everything you mentioned in the video. This car sounds amazing for stock exhaust and looks timeless. Mine is black and I also covered the chromes in black (chrome delete), including the grill, thereby making it all black down to the stock wheels. Everything on my car is stock. I have seen people staring a few times and strangers have told me how much they love my car. I have only had to change the brakes, front rotors and do the regular oil change. ( It consumes a lot of oil so oil change is more frequent than other cars I've owned. I'm wondering if you noticed this in your car as well). This is a very rare car, you will find the fx35 anywhere but not the 45. Sometimes I think I am the only fx45 owner in my city. Great video. subscribed.

@@BlackSlacksGarage I think the FX50s might be a worthy replacement. I personally dont think the 50 looks better though, not bad but definitely not better. I love the design, way ahead of its time I notice some brand new suv's copping infiniti FX. I bought mine Nov 2016 @220000KM, one owner vehicle he was using Regular gas since brand new, he never changed spark plugs, transmission oil was black but the SUV was in great condition, Driver seat wasn't going back n forth. I already changed the tranny oil twice, fixed the driver seat, changed spark plugs, K&N air filter premium gas since I bought it, I also cleaned mass air flow sensor, Throttle body, last week I changed wheel bearing (SKF bearing) cost me $165CAD I changed it myself 2 hours job, broke the ABS wheel speed sensor $320CAN dealer price, I got mine amazon $25CAN works fine. I changed brake pads (mistake) must change pads n rotors brake works fine around 70-80 km speed, but on a high speed it shakes cause of the old rotors, goona be buying new rotors soon.

You are the type of owner i would like to buy a used car from, i like how you take care of your car. There are not many DIY videos on the fx series and that makes it difficult for a guy like me (who needs guidance) to fix somethings myself. Changing the air filter sounds like something i should consider doing at this stage.

These are actually on the Nissan 350z/g35 coupe platform, pretty much everything underneath is 350z but you could get this amazing v8 in it and AWD! Personally I'm a fan of the v6 one a little better because i love the VQ exhaust note and its a bit more tuneable which is also the exact same engine as the 350z/g35. I'm planning on getting an FX35 in a few months actually for it is my dream vehicle. I was originally gonna get a 350z but its not big enough to fit all my friends, plus not really gonna be good for the weather conditions in Vermont where im from so i did more research and this suv popped up, now i did see the 4 door g35 but i feel it doesn't look nowhere near as nice as the FX. i feel the FX looks like a concept vehicle that went straight into production and it does look just like the 2002 FX concept they had. It keeps this design futuristic even today in 2023
