I have the iPad 2 back in 2014 when my college handed them to new incoming and transferring students. I had it in white and I loved my iPad so much. I’m glad that it still works in 2024. I still have my iPad somewhere in one of my boxes.

Been using my 2nd gen ipad that came with the lightning port since 2013. It lags a bit, some apps dont work and some websites dont work on it but it serves my purpose.

@@LunasDigitalStudio Yep, it works and i still use it. The hardware (wifi/bluetooth/battery etc) works without any issues. It lags a bit while browsing websites and apps such as youtube dont work on it anymore. I still use it to check my emails coz i prefer a large screen. I have to use youtube directly via the web browser and youtube videos only play in 360p format. Im impressed with the sheer longevity of the ipad. It has never had a battery replacement or any repair since i got it it Feb 2013.

The 2nd Gen cannot connect through WPA3 Wifi security. Go into your router and change your security setting to use WPA2. The other issue could also be that it cannot use 5ghz Wifi connections. Try a 2.4ghz Wifi connection from your router.

Would it work with a Bluetooth projector? What about PDFs (I’m sure PDFs it will manage) and other files for comic books? (CBR/CBZs?) Um and could I transfer videos onto it? (Just standard whatever video files?) I don’t really need a new one I don’t think, as it’s primary use will be ebooks and comics.

That is my question too. Mine is charging but it charges sooo slow. It has taken 30 hours to charge from 2, percent and is only at 45 percent.

@@W8ndat I have a 3rd gen lying around, it takes about 2 days to charge, but it will sit idle and connected to Wi-Fi for a good 6 weeks or more. It's a shame these are basically just paperweights at this point.
