I have owned my 18 R since brand new and I just had my running light “J” go out. I got a quote for 5,600. Crazy! I won’t fix it for that price. I do have the trim lifting up in the same spot you showed. I’m just hitting 95,000 miles and brakes have not been changed yet. Jaguar use to do my oil changes only if 16,000 miles!!! Now they say 7,000 miles it’s needed and they charge almost 400.00! At 62,000 miles the transmission disconnected and broke apart. Sorry I am not good with fixing cars but they wanted 15,000 to fix it but luckily I was still under warranty. After all that I still love driving my car daily! I still get a thrill driving it. Thanks for your videos 👍🏻💓

I weaseled a guy down from $27k to $19k on one of these 2017 models and have put barely 4k miles on it in two years. Of course not long enough to see or experience problems but I have loved Jaguars since I was a kid. It’s a toy that I enjoy and adore. I get polite but snarky comments from other car guys Ford, Chevrolet, etc. about reliability and I just respond that I’ll get to that point if and when it comes.

Had F-Type R Awd for a few years, no issues got it tuned, 200 Cell installed sounds incredible. Changed my own oil for under $200 in my garage, dealer wanted nearly $400 bucks for it. Drove it all during the winter handles insane in the snow. Probably one of the best vehicles I've owned. Only thing i ran into was the "o2 Sensor" but that's still covered under warranty. If you keep up with the maintenance you should have minimal issues.

The way I saw it when I bought my 2024 Jag was I could either get an Aston for 50k+ more OR get a Jag and set aside up to 50k for regular maintenance. I think a lot of people buy these cars and just do not give them the care and attention that is needed for maintenance!

Beautiful car guys! Love that red interior. I’ve been a fan of these cars since they first came out, and it’s unbelievable how people continue to refuse to accept that these cars are reasonably reliable. That’s what it seems like anyway with the tired ridiculous comments out there on the Internet about Jag more generally. The F-type is considered by most to be one of the most reliable in the Jag range, especially the newest ones that have all the little problems worked out. The reality is modern Jag is reliable. I have friends and family who own them, or have owned them. Their experiences are/were good. For anyone who cares enough to look, these cars are pretty worked out these days. But lots of people aren’t interested in the reality of things, they just want to continue to slag Jag, perpetuate the myths of unreliability, etc…What can ya do I guess…I just bought an F-type myself…I would not have done so if I thought they were drastically unreliable…. Depreciation aside, what other car in the market brings this performance, look, and style for the money? The answer is nothing, even new. At least in my view. It was the same nonsense when my bud bought his 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. The Internet was telling him it would be super unreliable. Quite the contrary. Those Astons are some of the most reliable performance cars ever. Seriously. He has had 0 issues, and that is becoming evident these days. These F-Types will have their day values-wise, and I think that will happen in the not so distant future once these EV mandates take hold. Demand for them will increase dramatically. It’s part of the human condition, we often don’t know what we have until it’s gone.

Yeah I love the brand and own 3. Everyone loves the look of the cars man….. but the stigma does play out true. Ownership is a total different fiasco. #1- they do break. A lot. #2. The dealerships have NEVER stored parts and it takes weeks for them to come from UK and .. they come broke. So…. Patience is key but it can be very frustrating.

I think you must’ve meant to say $500 per wheel for the brakes right? I have a buddy who has a ‘21 F pace SVR and he was just looking at aftermarket rotors and pads. All four corners added up to about $2500 and that was if he could find any-as almost every supplier was out of stock. He says most jag dealers are charging between $4-6k for a full brake job. The majority of it is just parts cost.

@@budwise7332 That’s completely fine. But for anyone who actually knows based on experience and research (forums etc) knows they are fine. I’m not saying they aren’t expensive to fix if they break. All expensive cars are. You’ve chosen to accept the outdated unreliability nonsense for Jag. This is not the 80/90s. Things have changed. You can’t be that interested in the car or you would know the truth that I’m trying to convey here. I would not have purchased a 2024 R if I thought they were super unreliable. I have family and friends with them and research that says they’re fine if maintained. If you wanna accept the words of Bubba who heard Sally’s aunt Suzy’s friend Bill say that they are unreliable even though they’ve never owned one then that’s what you are going to do…I won’t try to convince any further… It’s a shame, but to some degree Jag deserves it. They did have problems with Jags in the past, and they currently do still have significant issues with some of their Range Rover Land Rover stuff….This makes it hard for the masses to see the truth, especially if they are not willing to dig a bit deeper. I’m any case, best of luck Cheers

Ive owned many American and European cars over the years (4 Jags from 90s to current 2013 XFR). ALL cars will begin to deteriorate in the plastic cooling and oil seals. Ive owned BMW, MB, Cadillac, Porsche… after time and miles they ALL fail. They are ALL expensive to fix. My take is buy as low mileage as you can, get an extended warranty or certified pre owned by dealer. Or go buy a Honda or Toyota and enjoy watching other ppl driving their passion 😅
