Jokerless was fun, I did it myself. Honestly it seems more intimidating than it is, a person will lose the first ones fast but doing any effective strategy like flushes is going to carry. Glass cards are also your friend

When I did it I didnt realize that weaker hand stategies were even possible, so I was always chasing the five of a kind ace dream. Was cool tho, since I almost never get to do 5 of a kind runs usually (But man I remember a run where I was holding 2 deaths, having like 25 aces in my deck and the last 2 aces were both glass which I needed to win (with deaths) on ante 8 boss, so painful)

Yeah it's pretty hard at first if you go in blind, but once you figure out a good strategy it isn't that bad actually.

Honestly jokerless is only like the 3rd or 4th hardest challenge. It's really not all that bad. I won by spamming straights since they scale so hard, and I didn't even get telescope. At the end of the game my straights were worth 75k base before enhancements.

​​@@StephenOwenPlay one hand a lot, and then pivot to another. Most easily done by pivoting from High Card to something like 3oaK, but you can pivot from any hand. You can even have Obelisk in stock at x1 mult if you can spare a slot, or even have it work short-term and reset it before pivoting, idk. Anyways, the point is that you don't have to wait for the right time for it to appear this way. Obelisk's scaling is extremely fast once you get it rolling. Think opposite of using Card Sharp, but with even better potential reward, since it always does its xMult, unlike Card Sharp, which requires playing a hand once, and then playing it again. You can even combine Card Sharp itself. With the right pivot, it gets to x8-x10 easily. Definitely more easily than something like Hologram/Constellation, and rivalling Madness.

@@RenShinomiya121 Then they are full of it, lmao. I've been trying to do this challenge for a bit, watched 8min of this video then decided sure will try flushes if it lets me. Yep made it to whatever ante hits 7.2mil, keeping economy stable is super important to keep getting good tarot cards to keep shaping deck. I never thought too hard on that, until he just kept going in with ~25 whenever possible for interest. That little extra really pays off per round. Also telescope, without it you just won't scale because half the planet packs are just money wasted instead of specialization, so some RNG there still.

I've never done this challenge, but it seems to be easier than you might assume. Not having bad jokers clog up the shop give you way more opportunities to get good tarots and planets, especially if you can get something like seed money or lucky cards to solve your econ and can reroll a ton of times.

I’m the opposite, I’ve beaten the other challenges mentioned except for double or nothing, jokerless is the hardest, not easy by any stretch of the imagination. There are a lot of blinds that kill you on the spot. I gave up out of frustration after having so many runs die so fast due to getting very unlucky. I just find it not enjoyable at all. Fragile is not that difficult, I’ve beaten it several times in different ways, one way is glass joker. Monolith is tricky but I got through by spamming two pair and then played other hands, not that difficult but annoying. Golden needle just sucks, not much to say about it other than the needle boss actually gives you an extra hand since you only have 1 it can’t reduce it, so it adds instead. Double or nothing, I have no clue how to do that one.

I just beat this on my second attempt using diamond Straight Flushes. There were a few close calls and I was shitting bricks when I first noticed at Violet Vessel (who seems to plague the challenges for some reason) but it wasn’t that difficult. No jokers means more tarots/planets, meaning more Hanged Man/Justice etc. The Golden Needle challenge is _still_ a nightmare, though. There really is no strategising with that one.

Took me a few tries but I beat Jokerless with a Straight build. I actually had more trouble with the Golden Needle challenge (and Omelette but I was pretty new to the game when I tried Omelette). I struggle to make Nancy work but I can fairly easily get it to at least x2 which is still pretty strong, but I don't think it's nearly as easy to scale as Hologram and Constellation, two other xMult scalers. The nerfs I don't really understand why Thunk did it is the suit Sin Jokers and the Onyx Agate. When I first started playing I thought the suit jokers were really strong, but quickly realised they're not, and then they got even worse with the nerf from +4 -> +3 (or +8 -> +7 in Agate's case), especially as Flush is quite slow to scale. Especially when Thunk buffed Smiley Face from +4 -> +5 in the same update. They're still fine for early scoring but I still don't think they should have been nerfed.

Since he has enhanced cards by using hanged man you increase the odds of actually getting the better cards, but if you take the star sure you get one more diamond card but the odds for getting the good cards stays equally as low. Generally cleaning the deck is a good idea
