As someone who spends his days translating 1000 year old Japanese folktales, the answer is resoundingly and unequivocally yes! The best looking sword out there, and I swear I'm completely unbiased and 100000000% free of prejudice. Also, if you want a lady of the night meets martial artist, go all out and make it a lady assassin and call her Tomoe in honor of Tomoe Gozen perhaps the most well known lady warrior from the Tale of the Heike.

Couldn't tell if that's a straight Dao, or a Jian at the end there. Jian if it's double edged, a straight type Dao if single edged, most Dao styles tend to be somewhat curved, but it generally boils down to whether or not it's got an edge on both sides or just one. Either way, fun video as always. In D&D whenever players get a bog standard +1 or better sword I always try to either give it a name or have the players do so, named swords are just more fun!

I wanna add my two cents for the gladius. I think the description is down pat. It's small, unseen, unexpected, underappreciated. Also always used with a shield. I definitely think it's a military man, but definitely not any kind of pilot. So, standard issue weapon so he's definitely in the army. Has a shield (armor or infantrymen) between him and the enemy. Personally I'd consider the gladius as more akin to a musketeer or light/forward artileryman, like a mortarman. A powerful weapon that can deliver devastating damage to foes, can hold it's own in a fight but relies on the strong defence and guard provided by their comrades. Not sure on the name though.
