Dude, first of all thanks for the shout out. Secondly, if I can assemble this pedal anyone can- i'm the worst and it was easy. If anything, getting this pedal makes me let go of the remorse I was carrying for selling my Klon in 2015. It sounds great, but I need a WW Mjolnir too for a double Klon board muahahaha

Another trick to threading metal into plastic: always turn it once in reverse until you feel it seat, then tighten. I learned that from a mechanic when I was a teen and I'm sure he's saved me more headache than I probably realize.

The notaklön seems like a really fun, tongue in cheek and inexpensive experiment. I’ll get one, paint it, goop the whole inside for fun, and keep it in a gig bag or something. It’s not going to be my go-to klone, that’s why I have a WW mjolnir 😁 I just think it’s a fun idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was a teen in the 90's and bought a used Klon under the recommendation from the store owner where I took leasons at I took it back few days latter for a DS-1 because it did not do the Nirvana sound

I have a wildwood molnir an archer and a coliseum pedal. I bought the notaklon because of the bit honestly. Although instead of the switch it would have been awesome to have a second foot switch for the boost.

NotAKlon may be cool. But the best Klon I’ve played is the Mythos Wildwood Mjolnir. No glad-handing fanboy stuff here. Just pure facts. It’s sonically delicious!

I’ll probably get one of the notaklons in the second batch. And I’m in the camp of “don’t have a Klon yet, want to try it out.” Maybe that’s a stepping stone for me to get a Mjolnir down the line. But I would LOVE for you all to re-release the mythos boost kit that you used to have. I missed out on that in 2020 and would be psyched to try that as my first actual pedal kit, soldering and all. Cheers, and keep up the great work!

I’m 6’4” and my favorite pedal is the jhs sweet tea”jcm800 circuit and ts 808” as for the Klon love my tone bakery cream brûlée

Yeah. The Centaur is King for sure. I bought a Wildwood Mjolnir used and it’s the only drive I have in my board. Makes your fuzz pedals sound amazing too. j rocket archer (silver) is pretty amazing too.

I have not ordered a Notaklon but I've thought about it precisely because it is plain white. I could easily see it being a fun project with my daughter. She "helps" put it together and gets to put stickers all over it or something. But I'm not an OD guy really so I don't know that I need a Klone at all.

TS9 seems to be the most ubiquitous still but Klon clones are probably 2nd. For me the Fuzz Face is most historically important...because Hendrix. There is no single artist I relate to the Klon and no specific music created by it that is known reference material.

Yes! For as much as Klon is in it of itself iconic, it doesn’t have that name to go with it. Maybe Mayer, but even then, he’s John Mayer first, and if you know his gear then you probably just know he has a klon on his board. And they were already famous and expensive before he ever had one

5-6K klons in a couple of days is crazy. It also shows how smart Josh is. He is able to fullfil the orders, he knew in advance how many he would sell. About the Klon, Mythos Mjolnir remains my favorite. I don't think the Klon is the greatest pedal of all time but it's definitely the most iconic. Btw it might be an unpopular opinion but for me the greatest pedal ever made is the Boss SD-1.

I would love to try a Klon someday, but it's not likely. When my board was stolen after a gig last Memorial Day, the first pedal I replaced was my Centaur inspired MXR Sugar Drive. Its low gain sound is essential for me.

It's DIY...hit the enclosure with a rattle can before you build it, throw a sticker on it, etc. They even talk about doing that in the build video.

I think it makes a very good Xmas gift. 🎁 😉 a bit like a Lego kit… that’s actually useful afterwards. I’d be spray painting on Boxing Day though.

I still think maybe fuzz face and bluesbreaker are better in my eyes but klon maybe third so it’s up there.

Rather simple answer to the question - no. Probably something like a Boss DS1 or DD3 have aeguably had a greater impact on guitar music as a whole than the Klon ever will. Still a great pedal though.

Before all the hype, I A-B’d the Klon and Zen Drive and bought the Zen. I literally play it every day and love it! For financial reasons, I wish I would have picked the Klon but I didn’t have a crystal ball and liked the Zen better

Nope. How many Klons were used on the best recordings or live tours of all time? Zero until very very recently. Tell Rhett the Tubescreamer is the king.

Tube screamer is the most epic, most copied most purchased pedal of all time… even if you don’t like it. Klondike(why has no one named a copy of the Klon the Klondike? The Klon is the most overhyped, but in the most innocent way???
