I have this particular tool in my pocket every day it’s great when you have it for tightening and loosening water outside faucets so you aren’t having to go back to your tool box to get a wrench for one example.

May I humbly suggest that if your outside faucet is leaking regularly, you change the faucet.

@@urbanknifeguy I guess I wasn’t clear, one of the ways I use the mini pliers is for that, and my faucets don’t leak regularly it’s for when I change or need to tighten the hose to the faucet 🤷🏻♂️

I'm the exact opposite, I really could use a set of pliers wrench, I edc a heavy duty Leatherman and use alot but I also have a small set of stubby wrenchs I carry in my back pack that I use just about as much. I got a really good deal of the wrenchs is why I didn't get the pliers wrench

I remember seeing your other video and disagreeing with it too. But I just took it as you never using pliers. But yeah for me the Knipex is invaluable. For taking out bits, for unscrewing microphone accessories, for tightening and loosening bolts etc. Im' not exaggerating here but I straight-up donated all my open-ended wrenches, all my adjustable wrenches because Knipex are that hecking good. Knipex and a Toolcheck plus shrank my toolbox by 80 percent. I do agree that these don't need to be physically carried in a pocket. But they are extremely helpful nearby. I have one in my car, one in my house, one in my office cabinet etc.

I love my Cobra XS and often carry it. It fulfils the function of both an adjustable spanner / wrench, as well as precision pliers, but pliers which are far more capable that other ones with an equivalent head size, since the design and construction means an immense amount of force can be applied. It does however lack wire cutting capability so it's a trade off vs that and the wrench function, it depends upon which of those 2 functions you are more likely to need to use on a regular basis. Having said that the last few days I've been carrying my Vic Climber paired with Leatherman Squirt PS4. This is a light duty toolset, but I was also carrying a Leatherman Bond in my bag, together with a 4 inch Bahco adjustable spanner / wrench (a vintage one from the 70s, made in Sweden!) for any heavier jobs. As it's my day off today and I won't be carrying my bag, I am carrying my Farmer X, together with the Cobra XS. These 2 are heavier duty than the Climber/Squirt combo. But the Knipex is also so accurate that it can be used for precision jobs, even pulling a stray facial hair for example. Another good option for a pocketable dedicated pliers is the Channellock 4.5 inch Little Champ slipjoint pliers, it can also handle nuts and bolts although I doubt that one could apply as much force / torque as the Knipex due to the design. On the other hand it does have wire cutters. The Cobra XS is a great option for those of us in Europe, the pricing is such that you can buy a Vic Super Tinker and a Cobra XS for less than the price of the LM Squirt when it was last available. Also less than pretty much any decent pliers-based multitool. Furthermore we are extremely limited on the choice of pliers based multitools we can legally carry here in the UK for example, in fact there is no good full sized multitool with pliers, scissors, blades and drivers/general prying implements, with a non-locking blade. The only ''one and done'' multitool I can legally carry is the Vic Swisschamp. The Leatherman Bond is nice but lacks scissors. The Rebar knifeless is great but without a blade. So if you want that toolset you have to carry 2 items at least, unless you're carrying a Swisschamp. However I do understand that it costs a lot more in other parts of the world i.e. N. America and Asia.

I took my Cobra out of my EDC bag a while ago and replaced it with a B/Bury multitool and Gerber Chonk, since I use both of them far more than the pliers, which i never touched even once. And I also added a Kershaw TX tool that I use all the time. The Cobra is now in my car's tool kit, and I did use it once to fix the headlight on my car, which was handy, so that's where it'll stay.

I really like Knipex, and I have these pliers in an ever growing collection of Knipex pliers. I use all of them quite frequently, but ive never found a need to carry them on my body "just in case" though, like you said its one of those things where its (for me at least) okay to just plan ahead or go get it from a toolbox or car when its needed. If I were to carry something like this in my pocket every day, I would much rather it be a smaller version of the knipex parallell pliers or the knipex twingrip instead of this though. Both of those are imo better at turning nuts and bolts without mangling them, since this one is designed to bite into a smooth pipe. I think this is a worthwhile purchase regardless though, they are excellent. Pliers is one of those tools where the difference between a well made and a bad one makes so much difference.

@simonh63718 ай бұрын
Even if you have 4 inch vice grips, this is more compact and lighter. The ergonomics on it are excellent and due to it's shape and design you can get an amazing amount of purchase and torque on it. Finally the quality is top notch, it's bombproof.

The Knipex pliers (both the 100 & 125) is in my opinion is a perfect item to pair with any SAK. I will always need a knife and a pair of pliers but the pliers on any of the SAKs that have them suck, despite the quality of every other SAK tool. By having a SAK and the Knipex, you now have a fairly inexpensive set of quality tools. Only thing left is to add a light (which also sucks on every SAK that has them).
