With more new Fujifilm Camera's being released like the Fuji X-T5, X-H2, X-S20, X-E4, X-T30ii and the hype surrounding Fujifilm steadily growing the need for more affordable lens options is growing as well. The Fujifilm XF 8-16mm F2.8 is the only lens in the ultra wide angle zoom category for the Fuji X-Mount. Now, Venus Optics has released the Laowa CF 8-16mm F3.5-5 lens for Fuji X, Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Canon EF-M. In this video I review this wide angle lens for Fujifilm and show a bunch of sample images.

Just picked up the XF8-16 2.8 and didnt even know about this one. But I would have still made the same choice, I shoot concerts and events and the 2.8 constant is a must. Great vid tho!

I don't even shoot fuji, I just stayed because I found you entertaining to watch. I don't remember if you stated it in the vid, but if it comes in different mounts I'd love to pick one up for E mount. I don't have any wide angle lenses wider then 18mm at the moment and I feel having a zoom may make it a lot easier for me to decide on what I want. Awesome vid, got my sub, that's for sure.

infinity focus changes with temperature and is very sensitive to any movement or expansion. that's why infinity is usually given as a range of values on a lens.

How much does it distort? Im worried cuz zoom lenses usually distort on both ends of the focal range.

As I said in the video, it basically has no barrel or pincushion distortion. Distortion control is definitely really good!
