@@stilmotionpicture Believe it or not no. I had already followed Dr Osborne about glutens after already cutting out dairy, sugars; barley and rye not linking the word ‘gluten’ with barley and rye. After a year I realised I was growing other issues because I hadn’t changed my mindset about food, was only replacing the usual things with gluten free foods. I remembered my time was years back with ‘high fat meat and a few green veggies, so I did for about six weeks. I had one butter coffee in the morning to kick me off, and didn’t eat until 11 am. Two meals per day. Only the first morning I felt a bit weak and almost jelly legged, but I had put a couple of boiled eggs in my bag just in case. I only one and felt better and continued gardening; that’s my job. I use rock and himalayan salt in my cooking, Every morning I take 20,000 iu D3, Magnesium, K2 mk 4 and 7, boron. I have an occasional weeks break from supplements. At the beginning of going carnivore I did eat a small piece of every few days to up my B vitamins, plus beef heart and pigs kidneys, but I had to stop after a couple of years because I had a small annoying side affect. I did the organs because I had suffered really bad arthritis that had given me serious nerve damage. The nerve stuff has gone basically, just an occasional pins and needles if I sleep wrong. I have never taken electrolytes, I would if I thought necessary, and if that happened I would make my own capsules. I know that was more to your question, just thought something in there might help you.

People have to be willing and able to experiment. And recognize that much of the medical advice we have received is fear mongering that keeps people from making healthy dietary choices. Its amazing how people do not hesitate to eat an entire bag of (insert favorite box of candy here), yet are concerned about whether it is safe to eat too much meat...

I was a vegetarian and then a vegan for many years. I got fat. I was 5’6” and always weighed 120 and then I ballooned to 177. I looked horrible and puffy and red. I got on the carnivore diet and all of my knee pain went away and so did all the weight but the thing I noticed the most was the stomach pain I had was caused by all the smoothies. I thought the pain was diverticulitis and IBS when in fact, even though I was told oh no, keep eating these things or your pain would likely be worse!! That’s what I was told to be happy with the level of pain I was at because if I stopped the vegetables I could get really sick. Well, I stopped and started carnivore and all of that horrible debilitating pain went away and I can’t believe how strong I feel and how much energy I have. Plants are toxic. I don’t care what anybody says. I believe every word that Sally Norton says in her videos, she speaks the truth just look at the physical appearance of the people who run our government telling us what to eat. Hey, if that’s what you want to look like then follow their guidance. More power to you.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:39 *🥩 The carnivore diet, like the lion diet, isn't inherently unsafe but isn't suitable for everyone due to potential deficiencies.* 02:33 *🌱 Initial discomfort on a carnivore diet might stem from oxalate dumping, similar to gluten withdrawal symptoms.* 06:18 *🍞 The carnivore diet can help combat Candida overgrowth by starving it of carbohydrates, a fuel source.* 09:02 *🍽️ There's no one-size-fits-all diet; individuals thrive on various dietary approaches, from high meat low carb to Mediterranean modified to eliminate gluten grains.* 19:04 *💔 Eating meat doesn't inherently increase the risk of cardiovascular problems; it's a multifaceted issue influenced by overall lifestyle and nutrition.* 23:02 *🥩 Carnivore diet may not be sufficient for managing autoimmune diseases like Multiple Sclerosis (MS); comprehensive testing for factors like food sensitivity, microbiome, and nutritional deficiencies is recommended.* 25:51 *🏖️ Dr. Osborne acknowledges the idea of hosting retreats or workshops but indicates current limitations due to other commitments.* 26:19 *🩺 Dr. Osborne offers various laboratory tests through his clinic, including some available directly to consumers via their website.* 27:47 *🐄 Grain-fed beef may expose consumers to higher levels of pesticides, oxalates, mycotoxins, and unhealthy omega-6 to omega-3 ratios compared to grass-fed beef.* 28:31 *💊 B12 supplements in lozenge form can enhance absorption, particularly beneficial for individuals with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease.* 30:26 *🌿 Clear Mag and Ultra Mg are different magnesium supplements, with Clear Mag potentially more beneficial for brain health due to its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.* 34:50 *🍕 Gluten Shield is not intended to allow individuals to consume gluten-containing foods but rather to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination for gluten-sensitive individuals.* 36:26 *🅰️ Type A and AB blood types may face challenges digesting large quantities of animal meats due to potentially lower stomach acid production.* 41:31 *🚼 Carnivore diets may indirectly boost fertility by addressing underlying issues like gluten sensitivity, which can affect hormone levels and reproductive health.* 44:31 *👁️ Sore eyes and worsening tinnitus after starting carnivore may indicate oxalate dumping, a potential side effect that requires attention and adjustment.* 45:14 *🥩 A carnivore diet aims to avoid oxalate-rich foods, which may cause severe oxalate dumping.* 45:59 *🌱 After healing gut dysbiosis with a carnivore diet, reintroducing fruits and veggies is often successful, indicating a redeveloped tolerance.* 46:32 *🎓 To overcome food intolerances and educate yourself, take classes with an open mind, ask questions, and challenge dogmatic beliefs.* 48:37 *📚 Continuously educate yourself beyond formal schooling, staying open to new ideas and constantly learning to stay sharp.* 49:33 *💊 Methotrexate for lupus and RA should be considered based on pain and quality of life improvements, not solely on future joint damage concerns.* 50:14 *💧 Eating high-fat carnivore diets naturally stimulates bile flow; consider smelling bitters or having an ultrasound for liver and gallbladder health.* 51:54 *🍳 MCT oil provides energy but isn't universally recommended due to its processed nature; focus on whole foods containing nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids.* 52:37 *💊 Magnesium citrate is included in certain supplements and can support various health conditions, but consider individual factors like kidney stone history.* 53:35 *😴 The best sleeping position is one that allows for a peaceful night's sleep, tailored to individual comfort.* 54:19 *🛒 Testing for iodine deficiency is possible through nutritional testing or iodine loading tests, crucial for areas with low iodine soil content.* 55:35 *🚶‍♂️ Post-accident symptoms may indicate somatovisceral disease, where physical trauma manifests as organ dysfunction.* 56:54 *🧪 Stomach acid levels can be assessed through pH testing, while digestive enzyme levels can be measured via blood or stool tests.* 58:29 *🌿 For travelers, consider probiotics and natural antibiotic options like herbal supplements before resorting to antibiotics for diarrhea.* 59:03 *🥗 While chickpea pasta is gluten-free, it's heavily processed; prioritize whole foods over processed alternatives for better health outcomes.* 01:06:39 *🔄 Avoid dogmatic beliefs in diets; strive for balance, monitor nutrition, and remain open to learning and adapting dietary practices over time.* 01:08:18 *💀 Bone density tests are accurate but should not be the sole determinant of bone health; comprehensive assessments and nutritional testing are essential.* 01:09:27 *🦴 Bone health is influenced by various factors including B vitamins. Drugs that enhance bone density may compromise bone quality, increasing fracture risk.* 01:10:24 *🥦 Testing nutritional status regularly is recommended even with a balanced diet. Life events and stressors can alter nutrient needs, necessitating adjustments in diet or supplements.* 01:11:45 *💡 Regularly share valuable health information with others and support initiatives aimed at improving health, such as joining newsletters or purchasing relevant products.* Made with HARPA AI

Haven’t heard any Carnivore supporters come out in ‘beast mode’. My impression is they are very accepting of others’ journeys. I agree it’s not for everyone but it’s important to give people accurate information without biases to make up their own minds. If a lifestyle back step is needed after the fact there’s no shame. We just want to be on our paths to health both physically and mentally.

Another question you may want to consider??? What were you fed after your birth??? Breast milk if your mother wanted you to be a healthy baby. What is breast milk? Fats, proteins and macro and micro nutrients. How many children really want to eat the veggies on their plate? The reason they eat most of the fruits is they contain larger amounts of sugar.

I've been having extreme sinus & ear pain with fluid in my ears, went to urgent care that agreed with ENT's assessment from a few years prior that perhaps I have eustachian tube disfunction. Being on carnivore I've been consuming quite a bit of cheese as well as a bit of whole milk in my coffee. Well, I went dairy free about a week ago after hearing comments from Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Ben Lynch about dairy (the first mentioned dairy possibly being linked to eustachian tube dysfunction and the 2nd mentioning histamine and dairy). Well, the pain is virtually gone finally (it had been around on most days since Dec) and after about 5 days I went to ENT for follow up and the fluid is gone. Wild. I've now added in a DAO supplement to see if that helps with histamine support. I'm hoping I can eventually consume some amount of dairy in the future. I've no doubt that this stems from gut dysbiosis from 9 rounds of antibiotics last year. It's all related!

Finally a doctor who addresses oxylates! I tried carnivore for about 10 months. Carnivore docs offer Hashimoto's takes more time to reverse than other autoimmune diseases. When I saw Sally K. Norton, author of Toxic Superfoods interviewed i decided to reintroduce low oxylate plant foods to my high protein, low carbohydrate, low fat diet. This slowed down the oxylate dumping. I avoid gluten, grains, dairy except organic ghee, nightshades, lectins. Recently I lost a dress size effortlessly. So long as I eat enough protein I'm not craving carbs. Getting over my chocolate addiction made it worth trying the carnivore diet. Love your podcasts, white board presentations and supplements Dr. Osborne 💓

Chicken for me is poison, also pork in the beginning was fine and then it just turned my stomach - think it was the feed that the pigs were being given.

For people trying carnivore and not seeing good results is most likely because they aren't doing it right. There's a learning curve. I've been telling some friends about it but talking with them, they really don't have a clue how to implement it. They still believe that they need to eat lean meat. They still use sauces withy sugar/fructose on their meat. They don't consume enough fat. They still consume non-carnivore food so they are not seeing the benefits of it. Several stop early into it when they experience keto flu symptoms. If you can get past that, you will feel great if you are doing it right. There are ways to reduce the effects of keto flu and transition to being fat adapted.

I won't lie. These videos are hard for me to listen to. I'm grateful that this Dr. is touting the benefits of a meat based diet. We are all at different stages of waking up to the fact that we can not trust the medical industrial complex. I'm carnivore. Started last May and intentionaly fell off the wagon for November and December. At which point I have accepted that I really am addicted to carbs. I've been 99% carnivore since January. I agree that people really need to try it for a full month, and not just watch a bunch of youtube videos on it, but read the comments. There is so much good advice and experience relayed in the comments section. It does not have to be difficult. My only 2 recommendations : 1) go low carb for a month before carnivore. 2) be willing and able to cook your every meal. You can do meal prep and eat leftovers. Also, once you lose much of your body fat, to continue carnivore successfully, you need to be willing and able to increase animal fat consumption. There is a lot of good advice out there. You can not do carnivore successfully if you are doing low fat.

When I went keto before carnivore, I cut out all vegetables but cabbage, onion, garlic, and paprica, red pepper. (Last 3 are in a cajun seasoning I used to use). Also fresh garlic was from my garden. I still cook for my kids whom I have less than half the time. They are middle school and high school and they do not want to eat only meat since they can have sugar whenever they want at their mom's house. My ex is super over weight and difficult, so I can only be a good role model for my children.

If you have a vitamin k deficiency that can lead to calcification of the arteries... Matrix Gla Protein (MGP) is a vitamin K-dependent protein that plays a critical role in preventing calcification of soft tissues, especially in the cardiovascular system. MGP is particularly important in the context of atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory condition characterized by the buildup of plaque in the arterial walls. Calcification of atherosclerotic plaques is a common feature of advanced atherosclerosis and is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes. In a groundbreaking study by Luo et al. (1997), researchers investigated the function of MGP using a gene knockout experiment in mice. They created MGP-deficient mice by disrupting the MGP gene, effectively eliminating its expression. The results of this experiment provided compelling evidence for the role of MGP in preventing arterial calcification: 1. MGP-deficient mice developed severe calcification of the aorta and its branches within the first two months of life. This calcification was similar to the calcification observed in advanced atherosclerotic plaques in humans. 2. The extensive calcification of blood vessels led to reduced elasticity and increased stiffness, which are characteristic features of atherosclerosis. 3. The MGP-deficient mice died prematurely, typically within two months, due to blood vessel rupture caused by the severe calcification. These findings demonstrated that MGP is a key inhibitor of arterial calcification in vivo and that its absence can lead to accelerated development of atherosclerosis-like conditions. The study provided valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying the calcification of atherosclerotic plaques and highlighted the potential role of MGP in the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. Since this initial study, further research has confirmed the importance of MGP in the context of atherosclerosis. Studies have shown that MGP is expressed in atherosclerotic plaques and that its expression is reduced in advanced calcified plaques. Additionally, polymorphisms in the MGP gene have been associated with increased risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease in humans. Reference: Luo, G., Ducy, P., McKee, M. D., Pinero, G. J., Loyer, E., Behringer, R. R., & Karsenty, G. (1997). Spontaneous calcification of arteries and cartilage in mice lacking matrix GLA protein. Nature, 386(6620), 78-81. doi.org/10.1038/386078a0

I have been Carnivore before and did great however since entering PERIMENOPAUSE it feels like the benefits shifted. Is it possible that fibre helps detoxify estrogen from the gut or that sugar is needed for something? My symptoms are typical estrogen dominance symptoms. I HAVE EXPERIMENTED with different forms of carnivore and different fat vs protein ratio.
@lynnpoag8173
@lynnpoag8173 Ай бұрын
I’m in the same situation. Estrogen dominant, perimenopause, 50 yrs old. I recently had an hysteroscopy (just like a colonoscopy, but in the uterus). I had non stop bleeding for over 6 weeks before the procedure. They removed multiple polyps. I also have very dense breasts, so fibrocystic breast disease. I’ve learned that fibroids are caused by estrogen dominance. I’ve read and listened to Dr. Elizabeth Bright that high animal/saturated fat helps heal and regulate our hormones. I’m currently on progesterone to make sure the lining in my uterus doesn’t thicken up again. So basically I’m trying carnivore to help fix my hormonal issues. According to Dr. Bright, is woman should have a smooth transition into menopause without ALL those horrible symptoms. It very well could be that we need a lot more fat in our diet. I’ve yet to find my ideal level of fat, but still trying. Best of luck to you. BTW, look into the iodine protocol by Dr. David Brownstein. He’s helped many women heal from breast cancer and fibrocystic breast disease if you have this problem. I’m on the protocol and it has shrunk some of my cysts.

Same for me. Once my gut had healed enough to tolerate some carbs I added sweet potato back in and my perimenopause symptoms improved tremendously. Look up Mindy Pelz, she has a ton of information on carb cycling for women at this stage of life. Also, I tried Dr. Bright's high fat approach and it did not work for me. Had to choke down the fat and felt gross, with no energy. I did carnivore for autoimmune and neurological reasons, and it was very effective. But now that I've returned to minimal, unprocessed carbs during the luteal phase of my cycle I feel even better.

That’s only for a year or two. First your progesterone drops down to zero (peri) a few years later your estrogen drops down to zero. You’re symptoms are normal perimenopause and easily cured with progesterone cream.

I have had since October of 2018 and during this time I have tried every combination of the Carnivore diet... Yes - after trying carnivore, I had the most extreme constipation you can imagine. But .. I kept trying the diet - 4 times. Each time I got terrible constipation. After that, even when I went back to my normal diet, I remained constipated. I had to fix it - it was awful. First, tried some digestive enzymes and that seemed to help - but not enough. Did some more research and ordered some Betaine HCL (or hydrochloric acid), and take one at the start of each meal .. to increase stomach acid. I’ve been pooping like crazy since .. it’s been about a week on that. It was a life saver for me. Now I’m wondering if those people who do so well on the carnivore diet - do so bcs they are fixing their digestive issues. And maybe they could have the same result by assisting the stomach in digestion.

Lab data or those average test numbers may not apply to people in a different state of metabolism, e.g. carnivore diet. In other words, different metabolism, different nutrition status, and requirements. For example, a carnivore diet needs less vitamin C to be healthy. That is why it isn't very easy. It may be good to database lab works of 'healthy individuals' on different diets to see the pattern. 💪

The first thing I would do is find another naturopath. Your cholesterol is a symptom of an underlying problem not the root cause. A cardiologist will want to suppress your cholesterol then your root problem will get worse. I was in the same position you are in. My LDL started to climb into 300s, my cardiologist wanted me on statins, I declined. Three months later I got whole body blood work done on my own through function health. Guess what? I had elevated thyroid Peroxidase antibodies which caused inflammation, hence the elevated cholesterol. Cholesterol is a fire fighter putting out fires not the cause of the fire. You need to get more holistic testing to find your fire. Good luck, I hope you find it.

If you are constipated you likely aren't consuming enough fat. There are a lot of fun things to make on carnivore, join some groups and see what everyone else is making. Sometimes I need to feel weight in my stomach to trigger the urge to poop (TMI), it’s hard to feel that way eating only meat. I think originally that’s what fiber was for… weight to help push it out. Electrolytes, hydration, salt are all important. I still struggle at times. It’s not an easy diet to stick to either. Good luck. You need to find your “why” or it may not work. The human digestive system is very similar to that of dogs having a very small/vestigial cecum, thus not good at making energy from eating plant fiber, Rats and horses have very large cecums and can get a lot of energy out of plant fiber. ☺

The carnivore community are not kind. I tried to follow a group for more info & they just get mad when ppl question instead of providing info. & they attack Paul salvadino for eating fruit

The groups on FB are vicious. I'm in a private community now and everyone is more mellow. Of course, the group is on a spectrum too so it's assumed some eat some plants, anywhere from meat heavy keto to carnivore eating.

Dr. Ken Berry is my favorite. His coaches weed out the bad comments and bullies. Mondays at 6pm Central time on YT for live Q&As; join his community for as little as $5 a month.
