This past may 2022 I bought the s5 ... I Want dreamed the camera for 2 years, for me it's just joy, the amazing image Quality it's allá that I want, I mostly use it with manual focus for video, and I do nota got any L or Panasonic lens, just My old canon with an adaptor , the af it's just for particular reasons. Great innovations on the New camera, but in allá the comparissons that I watched this days I couldn't find any in image quality

@hunter I admit if both were out now I would pay the extra 300 bones for the X just for resale if nothing else but I will finish like 12 projects before June and I am happy to no longer be pulling focus during the entire shoot with my G5H2. I already had a shoot with S5II and the AF was super and now I can concentrate on other aspects of the shoot. I will most add Raw when it is available since I have aninja V but the file size is 10x of H265 and I am not sure how I am going to upload that to my editors when My town has no Fiber so 50mps is the best upload I have. I was so disappointed when the GH6 shipped with contrast AF. I was nervous about moving to Full frame but I see most of GH52 knowledge has carried over to the s5II

Ace video Dustin! I've pre-ordered the S5iiX and I'm so freaking excited...mostly about getting open gate 25fps (this is a big deal for British Commonwealth ex colonies) and also syncro-scan, maybe pdaf a little bit. A big part of the excitement is that I've stuck with LUMIX all the way through, despite the haters blabbering and, as a result, I have a lot of beautiful L Mount glass ready to attach. Which is why I drive a beaten up 2011 Corolla. Hahaha! I would've liked to see the optical low pass filter, like on the S1H. Oh well, keep the black pro-mists handy I guess. Not fussed about HDMI size as I always use a cage and clamp, so it's a non issue. Incidentally, has anyone noticed Caleb Hoover is a dead ringer for Durin from Rings Of Power?

Nice video. I am holding out to see how the S5iix will perform. Being able to record to an SSD is a great feature to have. I noticed at 16:01 you were in what seemed to be a dark environment. Which would explain the struggle the AF would have had. Plus, you were dressed in all dark clothing, including a mask. I would forgive the S5ii for struggling at that moment.

Very excited for the X especially with the new pro blade handle from kondor blue. It's definitely not the best in low light I've learned. Sony still beats it there. Actually since learning more how the AF works and the firmware updates it's very solid in most scenarios

Hi! I have Panasonic S1H and it is awesome in video works and really good in photo works. I also have a bit older Fuji X system, which is really good in photograph, but lacks some features in videograph. . After seen videos about Panasonic S5 II, I started to think to switch Fuji system to Panasonic S5 II or S5 Iix model. I`m also truly interested of Lumix 14-28 mm macro lens, in normal photo- and videograph and macro photo and -video graph. If possible I hope you can show and tell more about the macro properties of that lens? Without cropping the photos / videos? All videos, all the information you can provide about these products are really welcome. Here in Finland it is not possible to test and try these equipments, or do test videos about the products.

Thanks for the review. Really appreciate it. For serious cinema, more than autofocus what one needs is better rolling speed, higher readout speed, 4k 60 and 120 without crop. That is what the Sony A7siii and FX3 does. All of these things. Not to forget industry leading low light performance. This is probably a camera geared towards youtubers. S1H2 with its tilty flippy screen is going to be the real deal. It might also get 4k 60 and 120 without crop. Any idea when that is going to be announced?

This camera is more to go against the A7 IV and similar full frame cameras within the price. The FX30 is APS-C and the A7sIII is $1500 more than this camera so it makes sense that it's uncropped. No idea when a camera like that is coming

Panasonic is giving people an awful lot at $2200. I have the original S5 and it's image quality continues to surprise me. The S5 mkii and mkii X's features also make me wonder what the S1H mkii will be able to do and also what it will look like. What's intriguing is that the original S5 came out after the S1H- and made a lot of people question the value of the S1H since the S5 could do a lot of what it's older brother could do for a lot less $. But now we're starting with the S5 models and seemingly building up to the S1H. Personally, it would be cool if the S1H mk ii was boxier and had more of a cinema camera feeling ( more C70ish than BS1H).

Real Time Lut is great for the photo mode too. You can burn a look into the jpgs but keep the the RAW files untouched.

Awesome channel man and thanks for this video! So to clarify, did you think the sigma 24-70 hung with the lumix s-pro version? I’ve watched most everyone else’s videos on this event over the past two days and you were the first to go after this comparison. I think it’s super relevant and worth maybe doing a dedicated video on this because now with PdAf it makes the comparison between the two more accurate as compared to the mki body. Now, more than ever, future s5ii users are thinking about their lens kit build out…

Thank you! I see basically no difference between Sigma and Panasonic lenses. Even while I was there Panasonic said there should be no noticeable difference. Even the talking head portion of this video was shot on a Sigma lens. I was surprised to see that even even people using EF lenses with the Sigma adapter were getting very good results with the AF. I'll most likely make a comparison video on it.

It’s very nice to have AF BUT it’s not that important for s5 owners to change to S5ii. Remember there is no output ProRes RAW you have to pay extra for software. and also remember s5iix will be out in June. I’m sure it will be way better than s5 and S5ii. so I think everyone should wait. I’m LUMIX owner. Thanks for the great video.

I and I’m not too worried about the auto focus as I’ve never had that feature was wondering if they ever rectified the “ghosting problem” on that camera? @@rw3452 I’m in the same position. There are quite a few videos on YT now testing the Sigma MC21 adapter with EF lenses. In summary, the tests indicate that the EF lenses are operating as if they were native L mount lenses, including CAF in video! Although as expected lens based image stabilisation doesn’t work! There is some variation between lenses but it seems this is more about the AF motors in the lenses rather than the S5II. I’m very excited about the future of LUMIX. I have been really impressed by the brand’s engagement with the public (eg the USA’s LUMIX live productions) and customer first culture (ie vs cripple hammer). I have a Canon full frame, APSC and 1 inch cameras. All of them have been and are great. In 2021 I bought a GH2 and then G9 to test out MFT and LUMIX. Moving forward, I think LUMIX will be the platform for me (not a pro) for video. The S5IIX will be incredible beast of a camera. With a stash of EF lenses, I reckon I’d only need the camera, the 20-60mm kit and a couple of primes (18 and 85mm probably). Hope it works out for you whatever your decisions.

No nothing in this video except me talking to camera in my basement was on 1.4. I also didn't realize that you lose human detect shooting with an external monitor at 6k so that’s also why you may see some issues with the talking head portion. Still performed well in my opinion

@@DustinArmstrongPro oh just to be clear. I didn't mean aperture 1.4. my understanding is that Panasonic heard the complaints and issues a 1.04 update to the autofocus. CVP channel retested that part in their review and find it improved.

Yes I knew what you meant. Didn't add the 0 so the talking head portion was on 1.04 firmware. Most clips in this were like .7 firmware or something. But again you lose the "human detect" ability when you shoot 6k with an external monitor so to the AF even on the talking head portion on 1.04 firmware if you see issues, that might be why

It's 2nd best to Sony in AF. This has 6k internal recording, C4k recording, Anamorphic settings, waveform monitor, vectorscope, shutter angle, better IBIS, luminance spot meter, better pre amps, sound record limiter, should I keep going? AND it's 500 dollars cheaper than the A7IV. Weirdo

This was pre firmware update. Its improved a lot since then and need to do an update video
