In this video, I take the Lumix TZ95D (ZS80) for a hands-on review in the charming village of Nettleham, Lincolnshire. I walk you through the key features, including its impressive 30x optical zoom, 4K video recording, and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
This compact travel camera also boasts a flip-up touchscreen, perfect for vlogging, and solid image stabilization that I test while filming on the go around the village. Despite being unavailable at the moment and prices rising by over 50% on the used market, I still think it's worth considering if you're after a versatile, pocket-sized camera for your adventures. Watch the review to see how it performs in real-world conditions!

Actually, the Panasonic Lumix TZ90 does have Wi-Fi connectivity. I own a TZ90 and often use it as a second camera when traveling alongside my DSLR or Micro Four Thirds camera. The Wi-Fi feature is quite handy for transferring photos and controlling the camera remotely via the mobile app as you said. Just wanted to point that out!

Very interesting video! I tried really hard to love my TZ200, 1in sensor, 15x optical zoom, almost the same size as the TZ95. BUT it sucked in dust, had to pay nearly £150 to get it repaired to remove the dust from the sensor, and the image quality just wasn't that great in anything but perfect light. Also the Panasonic image app has not worked properly for about 3 months now so the remote control features don't work any more. If you own one, be very careful how you carry it, it's not dust sealed.

Thanks for watching and for commenting. Your cameras did cross my mind when making the vid, especially as you've recently moved from a smaller sensor. Great advice about the dust challenge 👍

@MyPhotoJourney I was thinking about getting a more robust (weather & dust sealed) compact camera but the prices are astronomical for one with a 1in or larger sensor so in the end I went for the G100 knowing I can clean the sensor myself if needed!

Exactly what I discovered, the price of these cameras are crazy and you can then consider alternatives.

Thanks for your review. Those price hikes are eye-watering, but not limited to this camera. All decent compacts are getting more and more costly. I bought my son a TZ80 a couple of years ago, and he gets great images from it. Would I pay the asking price for a 95 ?………..not a chance. 😂

Yeah, as I suggested on the video, the prices are nuts, and I guess it's supply and demand. Thanks for your super comment. 👍

It’s a T-Zed not a T-Zee. A ‘Travel Zoom’, pronounced as a Zzzzz not a Zeeee. Unless you are an American of course, a people who generally cannot pronounce ‘aluminium’ or ‘nuclear’ either. As for the camera, I had a TZ6 many years ago, mostly carried in my car for my travel photos. It was OK but nothing like the quality of photos now made by the better smartphones, especially not so in poor light. In good light, the zoom range is the uniques selling point of this compact camera. However, cropping an iPhone renders results that are at least as good. The focus system eventually gave up on mine and I never really missed the TZ, having bought a GX80 interchangeable lens camera that is in a different league and still very compact but not the zoom range. My son in law has it currently, being used on their Arctic cruise holiday combined with the 14-140 [28-280 full frame equivalent] f3.5-f5.6. Apart from anything else, this has far superior dust resistance and easy dust removal should it become necessary, while the TZ would require expensive professional teardown to remove sensor dust.

Thanks a lot for watching and for putting up with me poorly pronouncing my letters, and as an Englishman I know what you mean, though in this instance the phrase "when in Rome" springs to mind whether you agree or not. I didn't have the camera long enough to be aware of the dust problem, and you are not the first person to mention it. I also agree that Smart Phones are getting so good they compete well in many areas, and there is a space for all these camera types. Your GX80 and lenses sound like a great option too. Thanks again for watching and for taking your time to leave such a good comment 👍

@@MyPhotoJourney You’re welcome. Keep up the good work. These cameras have their place and are very convenient zoomy things and I had much pleasure over many years with mine. I prefer the versatility/ low light mix of interchangeable lenses with the 12/32 kit lens plus GX80 being almost equally pocketable. I should mention that I have eight other modern cameras from full frame Sony A7III and Leica Q2 to Nikon S32 [it’s rubbish] and iPhone 15. The latter being pretty amazing even in low light.
