Love the workshop bud… need our groups advice. Ran my 4s Mojave for the first time today on the local football pitch. First pack 3s to bed it in, second pack 4s got about 10 mins and went into limp mode. Changed batteries to another 4s,4 mins limp mode. Turned it off and turned it in again, 3 minutes into limp mode all temperatures were cool fans running. Any ideas gents and ladies…??? Thanks in advance for ideas and Happy New Year to you all.🤙🤙🤙

Hey Scott, hope you're doing well, buddy! I’ve got you covered - let me dig up the video for you, I've done quite a few of these fixes! 😅 It’s a simple fix, really. With the program card, you can update the card itself, then update the firmware on the ESC. After that, just crank up the BEC voltage and lower the low voltage cutoff. Sounds like you’ve got an earlier model of the V2 black and grey ESC. But don't worry, it's a no-hassle fix, just need the program card to get it done. Here's the video I made on it: Arrma Kraton 4S V2.5 ESC Problems? Easy Fix! kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2SWZWdjZaukoqc Hope that helps you out, bud! It’s been a real game-changer for a lot of viewers. Hey Chris, like you say you can't argue with the value for money of a car with a Hobbywing 4s system installed. Does look very much like a budget Infraction. Good work so far on the man shed. It is defo the way to go. I converted 2/3 of our garage into a hobby room and never looked back. My wife doesn't care how messy it is in here. Best wishes mate 😁👍👍

Cheers, Pete! You’ve nailed it-this thing really is like a budget Infraction, but with that cheeky 4S Hobbywing system, it’s punching way above its price tag. 💥 Glad you approve of the man shed too-sounds like you’ve absolutely smashed it with your garage conversion! A hobby room where the mess doesn’t matter? That’s living the dream, my friend. 😄 Best wishes to you and your supportive wife for tolerating all the chaos-legendary stuff! Appreciate the kind words and your support, mate. 👍😁 Stay awesome my friend Chris :)

Hey dude, thanks so much for the kind words and support-it means a lot! Yes, the diffs are sealed with rubber gaskets, but when I opened them up, the center diff had 100k fluid, while the front and rear were only filled with grease. Definitely needed a proper clean-out and refill to get them performing right. I’m even planning to make some of my own gaskets down the line for better sealing! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment-stay awesome, and happy bashing! 🚗💨 Stay awesome Chris :)

i really enjoyed this video thank you sir , i have a question can you tell me what size (measurements in cm wheel base and how width & long) is that body , i'm courius if i can fit it on an outcast 4s
@ChriswithaCrc2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As for the body measurements, the Maverick Quantum R Flux body has a wheelbase of approximately 32 cm. The width is around 25 cm, and the length is about 49 cm. You should be able to fit it onto an Outcast 4S, but be sure to check the exact dimensions of your truck and compare them to the body measurements to ensure a good fit. Hope that helps, and happy bashing! Stay awesome buddy Chris :)

Rule of thumb for the radiolink I set the double ratio (dual rate) to 50 and click til I get a whine from one side or the other and adjust to perfection from there . Stock power deans is 'fine' but I disagree and cut them off on sight😅 . The whine you hear from the drive train is just a characteristic of these cars just make sure it feels smooth . The diffs to me are infuriating to get to but nothing is perfect. Also unnecessary to go too thick on oils . 30k front 10k rear 50k center is decent . I recommend nutting the entire car and removing all the wood screws and replace with machine thread . I thought they were hideous til I got the rally, my first . Fantastic lil thing this . . Support for them in the US is poor which makes it frustrating. Value for money? Well this comes with the 10bl120 and one of the rowdyest 36 series motors you will find anywhere . The can actually belongs in a 30 inch boat . For the same 179$ you can get a max10 combo . Think about that math lol. Chris, be careful, it's a charming thing and it'll make you want to buy it things so it will like you more 😂 cheers!
@ChriswithaCrc2 күн бұрын
Wow, what a goldmine of info-thank you for sharing all of this! The Radiolink tip is brilliant; that method sounds super effective for dialing things in. Completely agree about the Deans connectors-they’re okay, but swapping them out is definitely worth it in the long run. I’ve noticed that drivetrain whine too, and you’re spot on-it’s just a quirk of these models as long as everything runs smooth. Loving your oil setup recommendations; it’s nice to hear from someone who’s been through it! The machine thread screw upgrade is a great shout, and I can see how the rally version could really change your perspective on the platform. That 36-series motor is a beast; you’re so right about the value compared to a standalone Max10 combo. And haha, I can already feel it trying to charm its way into upgrades and mods-it’s got that effect! Thanks again for all the tips and advice; this is super helpful not just for me but for anyone thinking about picking one up. Cheers, mate! 👌 Stay awesome Chris :)

One thing that is bothering me, the body design looks like it has been build out of lego blocks😶 I can't understand, as the Phantom buggy has very sleek design, but that.. (have no words)
@ChriswithaCrcКүн бұрын
I hear you on that, mate! The design definitely has a bit of a blocky, unconventional vibe compared to the sleekness of something like the Phantom buggy. It seems like they went for a more aggressive, standout look, but I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Functionality-wise, though, it still performs like a champ! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts-different perspectives are what make this hobby so fun. Cheers! 🚗💨

Whats wrong with dean’s?
@ChriswithaCrcКүн бұрын
Hey! Great question. EC5 connectors are a far better choice than Deans connectors, especially when running a 4S battery, due to their improved capacity to handle high current loads, which is crucial for performance. Here’s why EC5 connectors are better than Deans for higher power setups like 4S: Current Handling Capacity: EC5 connectors can handle up to 120A continuous and 180A peak, while Deans connectors typically top out at 50A continuous and 75A peak. When running a 4S battery, especially with a high-performance ESC and motor, the EC5's higher current rating ensures less voltage drop and more consistent power delivery. Wire Gauge Compatibility: EC5 connectors are designed to work well with thicker wires (typically 10-12 AWG), which is common in high-performance setups. Deans connectors often use smaller wires (usually 12-14 AWG) that are fine for lower current setups but could be restrictive when pushing more power. Connector Design: EC5 connectors have a secure and tight connection with a solid spring system that helps prevent loosening under heavy vibrations, whereas Deans connectors can sometimes become loose, especially in off-road or bashing environments. Durability: EC5 connectors have a rugged, high-quality plastic housing and spring-loaded pins that maintain a tight connection even under strain. Deans connectors, while solid, can suffer from wear and tear over time, especially if exposed to high levels of vibration and heat. For 4S setups, where you’re pushing more power, the EC5 provides a more reliable connection, reduces the chances of overheating, and ensures that you get the most from your battery without the risk of power loss or connector failure. Plus, the larger contact area in the EC5 offers better heat dissipation, which is important when you're pushing your rig hard. So, if you’re running 4S or higher, upgrading to EC5 connectors is a no-brainer for better performance and safety! Hope this helps clarify the difference for you! Let me know if you need more info! 😎 Stay awesome buddy Chris :)
